I have worn NB WW811 for years! I loved them and was heartbroken to find they were no longer available. I decided to try the WW812 even though some reviews didn't care for them. They are OK, but not like putting on a new pair of 811's! They do seem a bit wider in the heel but I can make do. I wore them for several weeks and then when it cooled off enough for long pants...I pulled out my tan pair of 811's I had bought last year! I loved my 811's...I like my 812's.

I wanted to love these shoes but, like others have noted, my heels keep popping out. I purposefully chose these for the SL-2 last which is supposed to have a roomy toe box, high instep and narrow heel. The toebox is great, the instep is good but the heel is very loose. I have to tie them tightly to have the heels stay put but then the instep is too snug. I'd like to wear them daily but I don't - perhaps every 3-4 days. Style wise they are a bit chunky and look like nurse's shoes.

My custom orthotics won't fit into them although they work in several pairs of the same size I've ordered over the years. The insoles are the same size as the orthotic. There are seams on both sides that dig into my feet and the tongues in the shoes are loose and rub against my feet also.

I bought these shoes thinking they would be better work shoes than my Jordan's. These shoes crease a lot at the toes. The inside of the ankle is worn through the fabric. They squeak on some hard surfaces such as tile. They're not stylish at all and the comfort is okay. Not worth the money. I will purchasing some more all black Jordans next, they are worth the price.

Clunky. Sadly they are the first shoe that I found fit well - I have wide (and troubled) feet, but am small with a size 6 foot, and these shoes are heavy and clunky. Maybe for a bigger person?

This shoe is wide, therefore comfortable. I like the black for work. However, I wonder why I have to spend so much for a shoe with absolutely no arch support. I am looking at having to purchase insoles as well and none I have tried feel good in the shoe. I never had that problem when shoes came with arch supports.

I disliked the synthetic material the shoes are made of - it looks like cheap vinyl. My heels slipped out when I attempted to use my orthotic inserts. The only good thing about the shoes is that they are made in the USA.

This is a very nice shoe. I have purchased many New Balance shoes for many years (mostly this general style). A few months ago I purchased this model in my size (10 N). My toes were rubbing against the front of the shoe. A couple of days ago, deciding to try again, I ordered the 10.5 N. It was much too large. Believe me, I wanted to keep it, but knew that I would be sorry in a week if I had done so. To be fair, I now remember, I ordered the first one from Amazon.com. I think I will re-order this again, but from Zappos. I am hoping I fare better with my next order. I'm thinking that Amazon may have stocked either a bad "lot" or a missed-sized lot. This is the only style I like. So if the re-order doesn't work, I will wait for the WW813.

Read other reviews! No arch support on this shoe at all. Be prepared to pay for an orthotic insert. Not a good walker: feet hurt after only 10 minute soft walking, heel is too wide and can't tie shoe tight enough to keep foot inside shoe when walking. Not a good purchase.

These are so wide in the toe box! Crazy wide. Puff up at the top of my toes wide. I wanted so badly for them to work, but I know if I try a narrow (and I have wide feet) the heel will be too narrow, as the heel feels very comfortable. There is also no arch support. When I took out the footbed and put in an old arch support of my own, the arches felt great but the sneakers are so wide my supports are much narrower than the shoe. Sadly, I'm returning them and my quest for a sneaker continues.

These shoes were a disaster for me. The insole is hard, there is no arch support, and there is something really weird going on with how they distribute your weight. When I first tried them on, I felt an uncomfortable pressure on the ball of my foot but for the cost and all the good reviews I was determined that they would work for me. I tried several different insoles. Dr. Scholl's gel insoles made them even worse. I decided to test them on a long walk, and after a mile I was almost crippled. Even my cheap plastic scuffs are more comfortable. I previously had a pair of NB 476 trail runners and they were the best shoes I've ever owned, so I thought all NB shoes would be comfortable but that is not the case. I now have spent an additional $50 on a set of Dr. Scholls custom orthotic insoles (the kind where you stand on the machine and it diagnoses your needs) and the shoes are minimally usable. I don't know what makes these shoes so awful for me but I never knew a pair of shoes could cause such agony.

I always wore 811 and had to purchase 812 shoes now. This 812 runs very small compared to the 811. Very disappointing.

I had been a long time customer of this sneaker's predecessor. I was quite disappointed to see that it was discontinued and this new version was the obvious substitute. However, it cannot compare to the original. This sneaker, while the same shoe size is very skimpily cut with very little support, especially on either side of the ankle and the back. The toe box is smaller too and, although it fits, it doesn't feel room at all. What a disappointment. It seems to be the kind of shoe that should sell for much less than this sneaker's price.

I use to wear the 811 I was told by New Balance that the 812 was the same thing modernized a little. I bought them and they are much narrower in the middle of the foot I have red marks on my feet when I take off my shoes at night and they make my orthotics rub the bottoms of my feet causing callouses I have just ordered another brand of shoes. I really miss the 811, they were heavenly I could sleep in them. I am praying that New Balance will make them again.

I have been buying NB 800 Series for 20 years, based on a recommendation of a podiatrist; always the same size. As the series advanced up to NB811 the style and design remained the same. I ordered these with confidence knowing that the latest pair would be perfect. As it turns out, the 812 is a drastically different design and fit than it's predecessors. It has a new puffy heel wrap that does not hold my foot in place. It feels about an inch too long in the toe. I am sadly disappointed as I will now have to find a new sneaker after all these years. Based on reviews I have read, I am going to try NB927 or 928.
