I bought them for my husband for Christmas and he has worn them everyday since. He absolutely loves them. Says they are very warm and comfortable.

I bought these boots for my boyfriend who works on a farm, and uses them for our hiking trips and he loves them! They are lightweight, very comfortable and give great support. Great boots!

Excellent boots. Top quality and attention to detail. I hike the Appalachian Trail, and these are light but solid. They have enough cushion with adequate flex and good traction. No hot spots or foot pain.

Zappos is wonderful to deal with. This is my second pair of boots we have purchased through them. These were for my son, size 13, hard to fit feet. Excellent online chat and support. Next day delivery. Fit was true to size. Great boot, great price, great service. I will definitely shop with them again.

Great boots! Light, comfortable and good looking. They are especially nice for airline trips knocking several pounds off the luggage weight. Best boots I have used in 71 years.

Very comfortable right out of the box! Lots of support and no break-in period needed! Rare in such a stout hiker.

I love these boots! Put \'em on, and in about 15 minutes of warm-up time, they are super-comfortable! I wear them around all day, and they just get more comfortable the longer I wear them!

Having to search for a great boot in a size 14E is very hard. This one was true to size, comfortable with a Thorlo hiking sock worked wonderfully while climbing Castle Peak 14er, through the stream crossings, kicking steps up the snow slopes and the vibram sole is very effective on the rock climbing.

This is an excellent hiking boot. Unfortunately, many manufacturers have their products made in China now. The quality has suffered greatly. If you want quality, go with Lowa.

Very comfortable durable bad ass pair of kicks. tactical/survival was what i was looking for and i found it. I am very satisfied with my purchase of these boots. Ordering was easy knowing I could return them if they did not fit or simply did not like them and it would all be free! But these fit me so well and they are just what I was looking for. After the great service I found in Zappos, I ordered a few more items and already got those items, very pleased in the simplicity of the transactions.

I bought these boots for my husband. He has a very narrow foot, and it is difficult to find boots that fit. These are excellent! No break-in time, comfortable, and light weight. He went on a 10 day backpacking trip right after he got them, and loved them.

These could possibly be the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I love the quality construction. They really fit like no other shoes.

These shoes are okay - maybe like a very well-made high-top shoe, but not like a good hiking boot. I want my Lowa Banffs back, but they stopped making them and replaced them with the Banff Pros which is much more expensive! A good thing never lasts.

Lovely boots, but not true to size (at least at the extreme end -- US 15). Everything about them other than size is wonderful. I really wish I could get a pair that fit size 15 feet.

These are nice boots. They will take a bit of time to break in, but I was able to do a 13 mile hike and barely got any blisters. Great support and the laces are very easy to tighten and take off. The Vibrum sole is really nice. For $200 they should have Vibrum soles though. A little stiff to begin with, but once they break in, they offer great ankle support and your feet feel as though they could plow through anything.

No break-in period needed. These boots felt very comfortable right out of the box. Excellent quality and construction. Cushioned insole is a little thin but I replaced it with a thicker Spenco insole and now they are supremely comfortable.

LOWA appears to be gaining popularity, and since then this is the SECOND time I've had one of my boots be perfect and one be complete garbage after very little hiking. This time with the Renegade GTX, I discovered a coarser seam on the center heel of my left boot that was leaving a slight portion of the white GTX outer liner exposed, and is what led to my skin coming off after two miles. This particular boot is also missing a bunch of adhesive around the bottom near the left heel in comparison to the right boot which was perfect and surrounded with adhesive on the footbed. Perfect is the way it usually is with LOWA boots and this is my second pair from Zappos which appear to be defective. I'm all about LOWA and will continue to be as their boots fit me better most of the time. This was not a fitment issue but a matter of quality control. I would otherwise want to keep the boots more than anything because it's extremely important to get what you need and not create a large excursion of pure torture with a week to recover. I may even order the same ones because just this pair sucked

I used to work for REI in softgoods where I sold foot ware and specifically, this boot. Having a little bit of a medical issue (bone spurs) in one of my feet and after trying on and "testing" a lot of boots, this one fit me the best and was the most comfortable.
So, why my low rating? I purchased my boots from a local retailer, JAX Outdoors, in the same size and style I had known was the best for me. Major, major problems with this boot after very light hiking on a non-rugged terrain in my home turf of Fort Collins, CO... and walking in these boots.
The right boot has significantly less padding around the ankle than the left boot does. it digs in. Left boot feels like a dream and fits great with no friction or rubbing on my ankles. Arch support, really poor so I did buy inserts and that's a simple solution to that problem.
So, contacted the retailer, took the boots back in person after wearing for less than two weeks, no visible wear, and the manager, Meghan at JAX actually argued with me saying "my excessive wear broke down the padding in the boot." She then said LOWA is really iffy as to what type of warranty support they provide.
Both BS answers.
I'm returning these boots and starting over again. Not worth it. LOWA had no response on my request for customer support for them either. These are higher priced boots and the level of construction has declined from this one highly respected company.

These were great boots and I loved them UNTIL I moved and left them in a closet for a year and they disintegrated! I was appalled and called Lowa who informed me they do disintegrate if not worn for a while because of the type of polyurethane the soles are made of = beware of polyurethane soles--very disappointed!

The Lowa Renegade GTX is the most disappointing boot I have ever tried to walk/hike in. I have a considerable amount of hiking experience, mostly in the Rocky Mountains. Over the years I have owned a number of hiking boots (including a great pair of Lowas). The boots have ranged in price from expensive to moderate and were made by various well known boot manufacturers. For me the Lowa Renegade GTX raises the question of when does a boot turn into something other than a hiking boot? In my mind this boot has crossed the line from a hiking boot into something else. In making this boot light weight ankle support is seriously compromised, the standard issue insole that comes with the boot is so thin you can feel the lugs on the sole of the boot through it. The boot lace eyelets will chew a hole in your foot because the material the uppers are made of is high tech but very thin. This is a boot for casual wear and not a serious hiking boot.

This was a great boot right out of the box. The fit was perfect, and the comfort was immediate, no break in needed. It’s a good looking boot and so far has been very durable. These boots have handled slippery rocks, wet side hills, deadfall’s, heavy brush, and steep grades with ease and comfort. They have stayed dry during rain, snow, and shallow water crossing. I wear a men’s size 15(US), which can be difficult to find and even harder to find one that feels like it was built for your foot. This is my first pair of Lowa’s, but it won’t be my last.

I owned a pair of Lowa boots that lasted 15 years or so. They were purchased at REI; typically I wear a size 13 and the prior boots were 12 and were a little tight in the larger foot. What appealed to me is that the Renegade GTX Mid is carried in size 12.5 - This is almost unheard of. Half-sizes typically end at 12. This boot fits perfectly for the larger foot and is not sloppy for the smaller one. I also wear orthotics and the boots are snug but not tight. I therefore cannot say much about the arch support. Construction is exceptionally good. I highly recommend the boots.

There is just no way this boot is not 5 star all day long. I've had over 4 pair and so has the wifey. They are the most perfect book we've ever had and I've been a backpacker hiker for over 40 years in live in the High sierra. No more demanding place for a boot. Now... after about 1o years the sole will fall off. So there's that. But they last a long time under hard use. Buying another pair soon.

I love Lowa boots. My husband has had a pair for years that have held up really well. I ordered these in a men's size, because boots in my women's size 12 are so difficult to find. The man's size 11 was a little too large. Overall, though, nice boots!
