I wear size 8½ and ordered the recommended 40, which was too loose; I exchanged them for a 39, which fit perfectly. They are very soft, fun, and funky. I added a thin insole for added support. I plan on wearing these with an evening dress as well as skinny pants.

Very stylish, great color for fall and winter, most comfortable right off the bat and all through the day. Love these shoes! Oh, and great arch support.

This shoe is like walking on a cloud. It is comfort with a capitol C. Not only does it look good it feels great! This is a shoe that I can wear all day long and it looks great. Kudos once again to Rieker!

Very very comfortable shoe... wish the heel was a little different, no big deal and it's wonderful leather, soft and comfortable. I have high arches and Rieker shoes usually do the best for me without using orthodics for shorter wear time..

These were comfortable from day one. I could walk 5 miles in these. shoes.

I love these so much that I ordered two pairs. The leather is so soft and beautiful! Besides their beauty, they are so comfortable to wear. For reference, I normally wear 7.5-8.0 in shoes -- depending on the brand. I ordered a 39 in these shoes and they are perfect. I do have a little extra room to wear some thinner socks and be very comfortable. A 38 would have been way too small for me. I'm wearing these with jeans, maxi skirts, pants. These are my first Riekers, but they will definitely not be my last. Great service from Zappos, too!

Love these shoes. Really unusual looking (a previous reviewer mentioned Charles Dickens). So comfortable. The softest leather in the world. I brought them to Europe for short distances. I liked them so well I bought a second pair in a different color upon our return. I would highly recommend a pair if you want unusual yet comfortable.

This is the most comfortable shoe I own, with maybe the exception of slippers. It is funky/cute, and the red color just makes me feel like dancing. Or just walking a long way. The heel is just right for adding a little style but still feeling great. So glad I bought it.

Found this brand with my Dena boots. Wanted black so got Liv, and now these Louise in muskat. I love that this company makes stylish shoes shaped like a foot - narrow heel, wider toes. I have a long arch and short toes so buy 9 1/2's. These 41's fit my flat feet snug across the arch, instep, and heel. I love this brand!

I love these shoes! They are so comfortable. Wish they came in other colors. Rieker is my favorite shoe company.

These are just what I was looking for - nice cross between a shoe and a boot and they look great with pants. They are really comfortable and are my go to shoes for work.

I like the Rieker 52180 Louise 80 shoe style (black) very much. I was looking for a casual black shoe with a ruched front and a low heel and found it in this style. It fits well and is very comfortable.

My new favorite shoes! The leather is very soft. The shoe is extremely lightweight. Feels wonderful from the first step and all day. They are comfy but have a bit of an edgy look. Just right.

While they are a little hard to get on and off (not exactly slip-on!) the roomy toe box makes these shoes fabulously comfortable. They went right on my feet to a 12 hour symposium. Might have been risky if this wasn't my second pair from this Swiss shoe maker. They best part is they don't look clunky or hobbity. I chose smoke and they are dark enough to go with practically everything.

This shoe's leather is the softest ever. It is like wearing a fine leather glove on your foot.

Love these! The picture does not do them justice. The picture shows a funky or perhaps an "ugly" shoe. On my feet, they are stylish, yet different. Comfort is fabulous. These immediately became my favorite shoes.

These might just be my favorite shoes of all time and certainly the best purchase I've ever made through Zappos. They are insanely comfortable, a breeze to slip on/off, and the heel is just the right height. Needless to say, I also find them beautiful! Going to order another pair in a different colour.

These shoes have an endearing "rumpled" look to them--I was a little worried about the wrinkled leather but mine are not as deeply creased as the one in the picture. They come up higher on the top of the foot than a regular shoe but have an elasticized gore that makes getting them on and off pretty easy. The heel is a little under 1 3/4" square and an inch high. The "smoke" color is a nice dark brown. There is no arch support to speak of in these, but the heel counter is fairly serious and they fit well across the foot, with a wide enough box for the toes. I usually wear an 8 but buy shoes in an 8.5 or 9 because I need to add orthotics--I got a 40 in this style. The bottom liner does NOT come out, and putting a full-length orthotic in these made them too small. A half-length orthotic (Orthaheel from Zappos) fits, along with my foot, in a lightweight sock or tights. I anticipate a long and happy relationship with these shoes.

I tried these on and then the Dansko Solstice, there is no comparison! These shoes won hands down in look, fit and feel. They are more comfortable than any other slippers that I have ever worn! They feel like butter on your feet, providing excellent support and comfort. I found my new favorite shoes!

Love, love, love these shoes! But I'm right smack between size 39 and size 40, and must return them. Too bad but when I realized this, I did recall that I'd had this problem with Rieker's sizing before. I wear a straight ahead 8 1/2 medium normally.

Fantastic, comfortable shoe. Fit like a glove. I also ordered the same shoe in black, same size and it didn't fit...cut too high and to wide. Zappos policy is really helpful since you really need to try these shoes on for fit.

The sturdy sole with its buttery soft leather upper made for pain free days of continual walking on concrete. They look like they should be worn with the Sorting Hat from the Harry Potter films, but I just tell everyone they are my magic shoes, magic for my feet anyway!

I absolutely love these shoes! I waited for three months for my size to come back in and it was well worth it. The color is a bit darker then the photo but I had seen them in a store so I was expecting it. They are super cute with any type of pants from dress to jeans. The heel is just the right height, not tall but tall enough that dress pants or longer jeans do not drag on the floor. The shoes were just a tad tight when I first put them on but within a day or two of wearing them they loosened up a bit. This was expected since they were leather. Now they fit like a warm comforting glove. I did order up one size then I wear in Birkenstocks because I had tried them on in the store and knew to do this. I cannot say enough good things about them. You will not be disappointed!

These fit like a kidd glove. But they do run about a size short. And they are very very soft. Gives the feel of a slipper if that's what you like. I was looking for this color to go with my gray things and it works well with the darker gray but not the light. Doesn't have much arch support but I wear a thin, 3/4 length custom orthotic anyway, so that works well in it.

I wanted to love this shoe. I was looking for something with a low heel that wasn't so boring. I have a pair of Rieker booties that I LOVE. The heel of the Louise 80 was perfect. Shoe was comfy. I loved the folds of leather. I agree with another reviewer, very Dickens like. But the toe. The toe. I just couldn't get past the super-rounded toe. I felt like I was a duckbill platypus in them. (Maybe because I wear a 41?) So back they went. So sad.
