Like a lot of others here, I have never ever (ever!) paid this much for boots or shoes or anything (except maybe my first car!) However, these boots are so absolutely beautiful that the cost is more than justified. The leather is very high quality, the workmanship is exquisite, and the color choices are rich and thoughtful. These boots make me feel great when I wear them, and they definitely add class and taste to any outfit, from leggings to dresses. Only consideration is that the sizing runs a little small; I'm a size 6.5 in all boots, but needed to bump up to a 7 for these.

Fabulous boots! Super comfortable right out of the box. I wear a 7.5 or 8 in sandals and an 8 or 8.5 in closed-toed shoes or boots. I ordered an 8 in these and the fit is perfect. I don't find them at all hard to get on as some reviewers have stated. These boots are probably best for thin to medium sized calves. I'm 5'6", 120 lbs with runner's calves, and I can wear them with skinny jeans tucked in, but there isn't a lot of room to spare. I love boots, and this is definitely my favorite pair!

I have had these boots for a few months now and I love them. I got my usual size and they fit perfectly. I'm 5'2 and really like the height of the boot. The greyish/green color matches with almost everything. Great fall boot! If I had the option to change something about them, it would be to have a higher heel. I also own the Frye Campus boot and I love the heel on those.

I also contacted Frye and confirmed that they do not recommend any waterproofing technique for this boot. So buy Frye\'s leather care cream and just avoid wearing these when it\'s pouring out.

This is a great boot. I ordered half a size smaller than I normally wear and the fit is perfect. I like the boot so much I ordered a second pair in a different color.

Color is versatile, the boot styles the outfit, comes right below the knee and enough room for skinny jeans, but not too spacey to look sloppy. Fits great, but not at first.

It was love at first sight! They are the most beautiful shoes I have owned (and my first Frye boots). Fits like a glove (true to size and perfect around my calf), smells delicious, amazing color (cognac), and they look like a million bucks!! Worth every penny!!! I would buy them again in an instant. I love these boots. It took about a week and a half of wearing them around the house to get them worm in, but they are absolutely perfect now. I am so glad I made the purchase on these.

This is a beautiful boot! The color is exactly as represented (I ordered the cognac), and the leather is very soft and supple. Only problem I have found is, that even with relatively thin calves, they are a little tight at the very top. I can get my jeans underneath them, but with some effort. Hoping to stretch them out a bit by wearing them around the house. Other than that, I love them.

They are wonderful. I'm a short girl, and these are a perfect height for me. They hit at about 2" under my kneecap. Overall, incredibly pleased with my purchases from Zappos! Great boot, great comfort from the beginning, great for short people. Oh, and definitely size down by a half size in all Frye boots.

I love these boots! I got the Fawn - really a great color, kind of a greenish/brownish/gray. I have never spent this much on a pair of shoes, but have been searching for a pair of boots to wear with skinny jeans for over a year now. I have athletic calves, and it is very difficult to find boots that fit without being crazy tight. I want them to be a bit loose so my legs don't look like they are in a sausage casing. My calves are 16" at their widest part, and I got these boots in an 8.5 (usually I'm a 8.5 or 9, but I read that i needed to order a half size down). They totally fit over my legs! Not quite wide enough for under jeans yet, but I can already feel them stretching out after wearing them around the house for one day. I emailed Frye before buying them about the calf width, and they said that the boots will stretch a bit to conform to your foot and legs, and that they can also be taken to a cobbler to have them slightly stretched. The toe box was also a bit tight when I first tried them on, but now feels fine. Luckily, I don't think I even need a cobbler! I was almost hoping I wouldn't like these because they are so expensive, but these are the kind of boots that last a lifetime. I actually saw a pair for sale in an antique store yesterday!

I love these boots! I went a little overboard after getting my first pair, and now have the Melissa Button in Bordeaux, Cognac and Fawn. All three are excellent colors and go with a range of outfits. Although I'm normally a 6.5 shoe, I can range between a 5.5 and 6.5 in Fryes. For this style, I would recommend going down a half size. This is the perfect boot - it's like a classic riding style with just a hint of Western!

I am 5'6.5" with long legs. My calves are 14.5". I purchased the fawn and black in my regular size 9M. The Fawn was comfortable right out of the box. Very soft. Curve in shaft is 4.5" from knee. I find it a flattering height on my legs. The shaft circumference leaves about 2 fingers to spare. However, the black was not as soft and very uncomfortable. The foot of boot was hard and felt narrower. The shaft circumference was tight on calves and left no space. Maybe the lighter colors are softer because the leather is processed longer. With this said, beautiful boots. High quality leather. So impressed with Frye, purchased the Calvary W.

These boots were definitely worth the price.They did not hurt while I was breaking them in, and they are comfortable, who would've thought? The color is great, can be dressed up or down, and I get compliments on them regularly!

I am in love with my fawn colored boots. I usually wear a size 7 and this is right on. The 6-1/2 were too tight and hurt my feet. Fawn is a little like the smokey color and goes with everything. I am petite (5'2") so they are just the right height too. I haven't worn them over jeans but can't wait to. The quality is perfect. The heel height is perfect too. The Frye Carson was good but too high for me that my arches ached after a few hours. Thanks Zappos for the super-fast zappy delivery! My local stores didn't carry this in my size so I am SO HAPPY to have found it on your website.

I could not be any happier than I am with this boot. Like others have said, this boot runs 1/2 size big, so I went down 1/2 size here (same size as I wear in the Campus and Paige boots). The quality of the boot is amazing. The leather is thick and the foot is comfortable, not too wide or narrow. The shaft height is perfect for my petite size. The sole is a little slippery, but adding rubber sole and heel taps fixed that. Expensive but worth every penny. This boot is not too trendy and will last a lifetime. Oh, and Zappos service is lightning fast! Always a pleasure since I am very impatient!

After years of searching for the perfect pair of boots, I found them! I love the quality of Frye boots. The leather is beautiful and the color (Dark Brown) is rich and goes with everything. They do run a little large, but with a pair of socks, or skinny jeans they fit perfectly. I was originally concerned about being able to pull them on easily, after reading reviews, but it was a breeze. I look forward to wearing these classic boots for years to come!

The initial shipment of these very expensive boots had a side buckle missing, so I had to send the boots back. There were no issues with my sending them back, however, and the process was very smooth. In fact, they even credited back my expedited shipping so that I received the replacement boots back in no time (and with a side buckle). I love these boots! I ordered a half size smaller than what I usually wear. They are sometimes a little difficult to take off, but they are certainly easy to put on. I absolutely love the color (the color description is so appropriate), and the quality of these boots is stellar. They go with all of my skinny jeans and the color actually meshes well with the colors in my wardrobe. I absolutely love these boots and would highly recommend them!

I am very picky about boots. I hate how most of them slouch around my ankle, sometimes due to cheap material and sometimes because my they don't quite get around my big calves. These have a great look to them, no slouching, and they fit my calves perfectly. Also, I would definitely wear them with skirts to work (unlike some of the other reviewers) and with jeans. The leather is great looking (I bought black). I have never found a boot I like as much as this one. My search for great quality awesome looking boots has come to an end. As long as Frye continues making these, I'll be a loyal Melissa Button customer.

Love this boot! I originally got the Paige riding boot, but I wasn't a fan of the fit or the support. Made my leg look wide and the shaft came up too far, which may be an issue for most as I am 5'9". I exchanged it for the button and I really like it! Got the Fawn color which is very versatile. Can't wait to have for years to come!

I love these boots! I have waited years for a classic boot that has a timeless shape, is comfortable, and fits well. The color (bordeaux) is beautiful, and these boots can be worn under jeans or with a skirt. The craftsmanship is excellent. They will last and look good for years. Thank you Frye! I have been on the hunt for a good boot for a while now. I originally purchased these, but returned as the shaft was fine for tights or leggings, but I couldn't wear comfortably with jeans. As usual, the boot also runs a 1/2 to a full size large. I ended up with the Paige riding boot and I love it!

After trying dozens of options for nice flat boots, these are my winner. The leather is beautiful, meaning it's like a Coach purse but thicker/heavier, and they smell like leather. They do scuff easily, but a little leather cream will work out the scuffs, and over time, I think a few scuffs will give them character. I have big runner's calves, but with the tabs on the side, I can get these all the way on with room for thick tights, although not jeans. (That's okay, I'm just glad they go on.) I normally wear a 7 or 7.5 with wide width, if available, and here the 7 works. Finally, I found the arch support insufficient for my feet (I have plantar fasciitis), so I added a "Superfeet" 3/4s insert and am totally happy.
