These boots are awesome. The fit great and true to size right out of the box. The soft leather already feels a little broken in. There is no rubbing spots and the soles are comfy too. I bought these to ride my motorcycle in and they work great, and they look good, too!

I admit I ordered these shoes from a place of nostalgia. I wore these as a kid and they were my all time fave shoes. I wish they still came in the original sandy color. The distressed is cool, but a little darker than I would have liked. I have a narrow foot, so I find that I need to wear socks with these so that they are not too floppy on my foot. Comfy, but do not expect support.

I had misgivings about keeping these, because when I tried them on, I wore heavy woolen socks and they were a bit tight across the instep (I also have bunions). However, after a couple of wearings, they have become quite comfortable and hold up to serious day-long walks. You may need an orthotic for arch support, but otherwise, you will love them.

Just wanted to say, that I love these boots. Brings me back to my school days. They feel just as good on my feet today, as they did then. I ordered these boots last night, and they were on my porch the next day. Wow! What service. Already have them on and enjoying them! These little boots are soft, but they will get even more softer the more you wear them. Thinking about ordering me another pair. Thank you Zappos for such great service.

These run REALLY small compared to the ones from a few years ago. I am a 7.5. I have a pair of 7.5's from about 8 years ago- I checked the size inside and ordered a new pair (in a different color- old was gray and new are ink). The new pair is AT LEAST a size smaller. 7.5 now fits like a 6. Boots are great but i have to return them.

I bought these because I needed a pair of comfortable black shoes to wear to work, and I loved my brown Clarks desert boots. I saw these and the black boots with the black soles pictured on the website and really preferred the natural soles to the black, and that is what I purchased. That is not what arrived, however. Either Zappos messed up my order (for the first time in years of shopping on this site) or these boots are just not at all as pictured. The soles are definitely not the natural color as pictured on the website. If I had not needed them as quickly as I did, I would have sent them back and ordered something different. What I got looks like the black boot with the black sole which was another color option available, just not what I selected. They are still really comfortable, which I know is the most important thing, but they definitely do not look how I expected and wanted them to look. This is the first purchase that I have made from Zappos in years that I would have sent back because I was not pleased with what arrived.

These shoes did not help me achieve the look I was going for, but that is probably my fault. They are well made. I wear them to look casual with jeans. They are a step up from sneakers or my old Converse, but they are kind of the same casual look. I had been hoping to fit my skinny jeans inside the ankle, but there is really not enough room in the opening for that to look right. The sole is hard, but that is kind of what I expected. I will probably put in an insert.

I love the classic style and sturdy construction of this shoe. The leather is extremely thick and strong and will probably last forever. They were super stiff out of the box, and chafed around the ankle, but I know they will soften over time, and I think they will last me for years. The one real problem is the width. As other reviewers have noted, these shoes are not great for wider feet. I am a size 6 with a normal-to-wide foot, and sometimes I actually lose feeling in my pinkie toes after standing for several hours in these shoes. Breaking in the leather hasn't seemed to do much in this department. It's too bad, everything else about the shoe is perfect.

They're cute and stylish, quality wise they seem well made. I'll have to return them. They're extremely tight across the bridge of my foot, just above my toes.

Love the look of these. They fit true to size. A little stiff at first, but breaking in. Fairly comfortable.

I have a wider foot, but I usually have no trouble fitting into a standard M size shoe. These run so narrow, though, that they are still much too tight across the instep, even after wearing them around the house for a couple of days, and they don't make a W width. =( I'm going to try sizing up a half-step to see if that makes a difference...

I love the style of this boot; however, can't for the life of me see how these are remotely comfortable. They feel like cardboard soles, really, no cushion and no support. However, like I stated before I like the look? So go figure?

I have a very high arch and a wide foot. This shoe did not accommodate either. I\'m a 5 1\/2 and the size 6 felt really cramped. The leather was stiff as well so not as comfortable as I had hoped.

Sorry but these are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever purchased. No support. You can feel all the minimal padding beneath. My 3.00 flip flops feel better than these.

Quality of products has gone down. Back in the 1970s, I used to wear Clarks Trek shoes, and loved them for their comfort. There was no break-in time needed (with full grain leather models). Just bought a pair of the beeswax leather boots here and am very disappointed. Yes, they look nice, but wearing them - well, that's where the problems start. The leather is extremely stiff and actually has a sharp edge around the part of the boot that touches the lower calf. I've tried fine-grit sandpaper on that area + some very gentle leather conditioner to soften them + gently stretching the shoes - and none of this has worked. I really wish I had returned these shoes to Zappos. Not sure why the quality of Clarks Originals has fallen so drastically, but...

This is dedicated to the reviews that returned these glorious boots because they were too tight. Without having owned a pair, I’d have felt the same, but some shoes are in need of molding to your foot. These take time to break in, as is the case with all full grain leather shoes. I have a wide foot and I own 6 pairs of leather shoes that I had to break in, 3 Clark’s and 3 Frye. That meant using shoe stretchers, bunion tools to soften the leather where it felt tight, and wearing thicker socks to ease the leather into the shape of my foot. I’ve owned my Desert boots for 6 years and only want to replace them because I’ve actually wore the gum sole down to where there’s zero traction. I’ve had to stop wearing them in the rain and in winter lest I want to ice skate around. Haha Buy them, be kind and patient with them, and they will be your best friend. ??

I love the look of these! I ordered them in the Beeswax brown and black suede. The black ones are really soft but the brown ones need to be broken in a bit. Like the other reviewers said - they definitely need some added foot support! I put in some Dr. Scholl's arch supports and it made a world of difference! I wear these as much as I can - I love the look and I get compliments on them every time I wear them! People are always asking me where I got them and who makes them. I broke them in by wearing them around the house for 20-30 minutes for a few days...then went 100% after that and they were fine. I love these boots!

Great pair of shoes. Order a half size down because the suede stretches to fit your foot very quickly.

Love the look of these shoes. They start out a little stiff, so wear thick socks around the ankles until the leather loosens up some. Very comfortable despite no arch, because the rubber sole absorbs the shock of walking. Look great with jeans/slacks. Mine are the beeswax brown, and I had purchased taupe suede, but will send them back because the colors are almost identical.

Love these boots! Fit is true to size. Have gotten so many compliments from men & women both! Would buy them again. Zappos is my favorite thing on the planet!
