The pre-worn look is what these sneakers are all about. It surprises many of my friends when I tell them they're brand new. The construction and comfort seems to be pretty good. Not as much as a cushiony feel but it keeps your feet in balance for the daily chores. I'd say the end of the day feet feel is just about the same as a Converse All Star.

This is the worst shoe I have ever owned! The quality is terrible! I spent a lot on these, and the soles are falling off. The insides of the shoe are also breaking into little pieces. My Converse shoes outlasted these.

These vintage shoes are outstanding. Can be worn with jeans or just about anything else. The look I think is so cool. Are they sneakers or shoes? Maybe they're sneakershoes.

My son bought a pair of leather sneakers in Spain and wore the soles off. I spent a long time looking for a replacement, and these ended up working great.
He enjoys wearing them. We did have to swap for a half size larger.

I got the red ones, and I Reaaaaally like these shoes. The distressed look is great. I usually can\'t wear this style of shoe, because my foot is too wide, but these turned out just right. I did need to exchange my original purchase for a half size up, but that just confirmed how awesome it is to buy from Zappos. The exchange process was quick, painless, and friendly.

I would first like to say that Frye has some of the nicest leather around. Better than any baseball glove for sure. Anyhow, perhaps it's just me but I ordered a half size small cause for some reason I felt I had to. Tried them on and was bummed out because I should have ordered a full size smaller. It's okay because I am not too impressed by these, they are like a cross between some Chuck's and classic Vans but with a stiffer sole, but that leather is so soft.

Got them after looking at them here on Zappos. Great shoes, nice simple look to them, but with a subtle detail. It's been about a month, and the sole is detached itself from the leather at the balls of my feet, a bit disappointing, but nothing a little shoe goo can't fix. They look great, and very comfortable.

These look great and are pretty comfortable for walking around the city. The toe box could be a little wider, as sometimes I get a little chafing on the pinky toes, but then I have pretty wide feet.

Good shoe...a little lighter in color than it looks in the photo. Also, it seems to run about a 1/2 size too big... other than that, a nice and better quality alternative the the standard All-Star that everyone and their mother wears around.

As another customer mentioned, these shoes were quite large for my feet. Not sure if it's because I already wear a big size, but apparently these are a full size bigger than what I normally wear. It's unfortunate because I really enjoy the shoes and they were like a bolt from heaven in terms of the look, feel, and style that I want from a casual shoe. The distressing is even more beautiful in real life; the construction is flawless… totally classy shoe with this strange dystopian-western edge, but alas TOO BIG and mostly un-wearable. I will probably buy the orange/brown ones or maybe even another pair of the black that fit properly (yes, I like them that much!). I suggest getting padding or ordering a size down.

Very comfortable shoe. Leather is not buttery soft as the pictures may make it appear, but it is not overly stiff, either. Stitching and glue seem very well done. I love the dark green color.

got a lot of compliments on these since they looked like chucks, but weren't chucks and were leather. fit better than chucks too as they didn't suffer from that long narrow style.

Got these for my husband, and they look great on him! I'm trying to up-market his casual style. The shoes are well made, with beautiful leather. I wish the blue were just a tad lighter in color (his pair seems a little darker than the picture), so it would stand out more. He did have a little rubbing on a toe the first day, no problems since. He has wide feet so they are just a little narrow on him, but pretty good considering it's not actually a wide size. He wears an 11, which is what we ordered, and he thinks they're a little long but wouldn't want to go smaller because of the width. Overall I'd say these shoes say "I'm casual but classy, and not flashy."

I like this pair from top to bottom from the leather laces to the leather toe cap. The material used is supple & the whole shoe just fits right. I wear it all season long with my khakis, jeans & when I'm adventurous with my wools too. Comfortable since day one. If you love Chucks, you'll like these.

I loved the style and quality of this boot, but it wasn't slim enough for my narrow feet. I found the boot to run long as I usually wear 8.5 but this 8.5 was too big. I also didn't like the thickness in the area around the ankle.

If you're looking for a high quality, well crafted, comfortable yet classy shoe the look no further. I've worn Chuck Taylors for years and I was looking for something similar that I could wear to work. It's only my first day wearing this shoe but I'm really enjoying it. The leather's fantastic and this shoe comes with optional brown flat laces if you don't like the leather string in the photo.

Bought these about a month ago and have worn them about 5 times a week since. Very comfortable. Looks great with jeans, khakis, even bright red pants.

10.5 (my usual size) was too big. 10 was too big. Finally the 9.5 fit. Takes a few days to break them in but overall I am pleased.

So, here's the thing about these shoes - they look great and are one of the very few brown leather low-rise shows I could find online. These replaced my old Sketchers Farris Boyden shoes which were the best shoes ever, so these Frye Greene Low Lace shoes had serious competition as a replacement. Comfort: There is almost zero padding inside the shoe other than the sole. So keep that in mind when ordering. I have wide feet and so usually have to wear a Mens 12 size if I cannot find an 11.5 EE width shoe. These shoes definitely run bigger than I expected and my current pair is an 11.5, I use a Dr. Scholls insert in both shoes, and my foot fits comfortably. I highly suggest you order a range because if you get theses a little too big for your foot, since there is no padding, they tend to chafe. Also, I have very flat feet and these have not been an issue. I also use a Dr. Scholls orthotic insert so that inevitably lends to a greater comfort so your mileage may vary. Durability: Frye has been making boots for a long time. Shoes I'm not so sure about. Based on other people's reviews quality seems hit-or-miss. My experience after wearing these shoes for 3 months straight is that they are holding up just fine: no wearing thin, loose stitches or splitting seams. Since I got these on a pretty deep discount I'm not expecting the world, but I at least expect them to hold up for a year or more. Style: Like I said, it was hard to replace my beloved Skechers Boyden's in brown leather and this is by far the closest match in appearance. I tried a couple other shoes in brown leather and this shoe was by far closer to chocolate brown as opposed to some of the others which were much lighter. I wear a lot of black, brown and grey, and this shoe goes with whatever I'm sporting. In the summer they can be a bit toasty since they're all leather, but you probably already know this. Overall I'm happy with these, and if they last a year or more I'll stay happy.

These are handsome shoes; the photo online is a bit brighter and has more orange than the shoes I received. They seem well built and sturdy, with a comfortable insole. However, this shoe has no arch, so if you need any kind of arch support, you will not find it in this shoe. The laces are leather, which surprised me.

I love these shoes but they fell apart. The sole wears easily around the edges, separating the glued-on sole from the part that wraps around, creating a gap under the toe and under the heel, and the sole starts to peel off, causing me to catch my foot on the floor and nearly trip. I thought of trying to have them fixed until I realized I would have to replace the entire sole. They weren't built to last. Or maybe they weren't built for someone who does a lot of walking. But compared with other shoes, they just aren't well-made.

Shoes look cool, but the rubber started to peel apart where the sole met the outer edge. Tryed to super glue them but that only lasted a week or so. If these had cost less no big deal, but for the cost I'm pretty disappointed. I was thinking of trying some of their boots next, but probably won't now. If you're a wear a few times and move on type these will be fine for you. If you will try and wear these as an everyday shoe, I think, you will be let down.

TERRIBLE quality. The soles are falling apart after very little wear & tear. I think I spent $150 on these damn shoes.

I owned these for about 4 months before the sole essentially fell off. The front bottom portion was completely open to the elements. This show is NOT worth the money. This is a very good looking shoe with absolutely horrid manufacturing. Furthermore, I typically wear a 12, and had to order a 10 before it fit.
