Very comfortable and fits true to size. Not as dressy I would have hoped, but overall a great shoe for the money.

Feels like a sneaker - I bought these prior to a business trip to Europe where I knew I would be doing a lot of walking in potentially wet weather. The shoes did not require any breaking in, and have been extremely comfortable from the start. Overall, I liked the look of the shoes out of the box, but after logging a few weeks in the shoes, I feel that the upper creases too much almost across the whole upper, which was noted in another review. I figured that this was a result of the material chosen to provide the water resistance. Other dress shoes I have tend to crease only along the top of my toes, not all the way up to the laces. Even with my feet flat on the floor, the tops are now wavier than I would prefer. Other than that, I found the shoes to be exactly as advertised, and a good value for the price. Zappos’ overnight shipping is always a pleasant surprise.

Waterproof with a good look - These shoes have a good look and are most useful for everyday use in different weather situations. They feel slightly tighter than marked for width.

Evander - shiny and bright - Be aware that this is a waterproof shoe. Not exactly sure what materials are used to make it waterproof, but I did not see that noted when I purchased the shoe (I may have overlooked it). It is very very shiny; this may not be to your liking. However, it is very comfortable for those who need to accommodate inserts.

Nice but quirks - The shoes are comfortable overall (3E/4E foot) but the seam at the back rubs my heel and the front has creased. But I have noticed similar creasing on other men with similar style (but different brand) shoe. Don't get me wrong, I can live with the flaws and I really like the shoes.

Narrow - Ordered a 10.5, 4E. The widest part of the shoe may be 4E, but it tapers about 0.75in too soon. As a result, my small toe is compressed. I may need to try a size 11, even though there is still about 0.5in space left at the tip, and stuff it with something.

Rockport Evander - Oil Brown - Nice shoe, although not quite the comfort level as with previous Rockports. I think the waterproof design makes the shoe retain a little more heat, an unintended aspect. I might avoid that next time.

Nice shoe - Nice shoe. Breaks in well. Light and comfortable. Keeps its shine. Can be worn with a business suit or with dress jeans.

This is a tough, inflexible shoe. Very shiny, and looks nice and dressy. However, it does not feel narrower than other 4E shoes from Rockport. Does require break in, but the tough material means the width is a serious issue if you suffer from bunions or bursitis. At $110, a little pricey for what you get.

Overall decent and I would have kept them, but the tongue of the shoe was really high and pressed into my ankle mercilessly.

These look good and are comfortable. However note some of the critical reviews on the top of the shoe pressing down onto your foot. In six months with these shoes i had an infection in one big toe from trauma (I could not pinpoint any event when I hurt my toe) and neuropraxia in the other. Podiatrist attributed it to poor fit. I have worn many rockport styles but this one is not for me.

Returned due to poor comfort - The shoe pinched my feet on top--the first Rockport to do that that I've ever purchased.

Too hot - Nice looking shoe and comfortable, too. But they are too hot. The waterproofing just traps the heat in. I regret buying them for that reason.

Pinch my toe. The shoe pinched my little toe. They have to be returned. Very disappointed in this Rockport.

First shoes to make my upper toe hurt! First pair of Rockport’s. This is the first review I left for any shoe in my whole life. What can I say; this shoe kills my left foot, well the toe on my left foot. The sole of the shoe is wonderful; I have no complaints about that. However, the upper part of the shoe is too hard in my opinion. I thought I had to break it in, but it's been over 3 weeks and it's still an issue. I can't walk 3 blocks without them hurting my foot. Too bad I wore them out and about or I would definitely be sending them back.

Decent, comfortable (initially), low maintenance shoe for occasional use. I have worn this pair nearly every day for the last year, and the waterproofing makes it miserable. After about 4 months, moisture buildup lead to rancid odor and seams coming apart, even though I remove the insoles every day to dry out.

Normally, I'm big fan of Rockport shoes. They always very comfortable and priced well. I recently purchased this particular pair for work purposes (I stand a lot) and was disappointed on two points. Are they comfortable? Yes. However, after just three days of wear, they have significant creasing and when I polish them they don't really take the polish. They are more like a patent leather type material. I'm fairly disappointed.

TERRIBLE squeaky sounds when walking. HORRIBLE! My coworkers teased me so much I had to donate them to charity. HORRIBLE waste of money.

Although this shoe looks good and seemed to fit well, I found out the hard way that the back of the shoe digs into my heel. After just two days of wearing the shows, my heels were bloody and blistered. Would not recommend these shoes to anyone who enjoys healthy feet.

Not for a heavy user... I bought these shoes because I heard that Rockport was a good brand and I needed good everyday dress shoes to save my Bostonians some wear. These are not good everyday dress shoes unless you seldom walk and never genuflect or kneel. Immediately after I began wearing them they developed unsightly wrinkles and within a week the "leather uppers" started peeling. The uppers may have leather, but I think it is just a veneer. I will never buy these shoes again.

I have a wide foot. I've worn this shoe for +/- 20 years. (not the same one's!) I went to a wingtip recently (Rockport) and 4 months after wearing I had to see a pediatrist for foot pain. I recalled the pain starting around the time I stopped wearing the Evanders. I still had the old pair in my closet and guess what.. no more foot pain. I'm going back to these shoes obviously. They are great for people with wide feet. For me I always get the orthotics from Happy Feet which much better for my needs. {Grocery store manager on my feet 10+ hr/day.}

Zappos has a wide selection of shoes. Great quality at a price far less that the mall stores. Easy ordering process and shoes fit perfectly. I’m a customer for life!

Shoe fit as expected. Having wide feet and middle toes slightly longer than the big toe these shoes were spot on with their square toe shape. No pinching and plenty of room at the front without smashing toes.

I love these. Great fit, very comfortable. Good cushioning and the support is fine. The ankle area was a bit stiff at first but if you tie them loosely it’s not bad, and gets much better as they break in. After 2-3 wearings they’re fine. I bought a 12 Wide, which is basically true to size (although I have taken an 11 Wide in Clark’s before, but I think that says more about Clark’s running big). They look great— the leather has a nice polished sheen. They’re not a narrow shoe, so if you’re looking for a more slim, pointed look these are not for you. These are now my go-to dress shoe; they look much dressier than I would normally expect from Rockport. Very sharp, and exactly what I was looking for.
