Spira Del Sol -
It's a great shoe. Spiras were recommended to my by seasoned runners.
The women’s model runs short and narrow, so I had to reorder. Ended up going with a men's shoe to accommodate my width. Just starting to jog again for the first time in years and the inner springs minimize the impact to my knees.

I own three pairs. They fit perfectly and have had people stop me and ask me about the shoes and where did I get them. They are very stylish and eye catching. They are by far the best buy on the market in high end athletic shoes.

Shoe Size -
I’m just gonna write about shoe size since the rest of the reviews say it all. I own a pair of Asics and they are an 11.5 but in this shoe I needed a 10.5. I wear Military boots and I wear a 10.5 wide. So just use this to make your choice on size. So just get a 1/2 size smaller and you will be happy with what you bought.

New love...
I've been running for 30 years and have owned just about every type shoe and these are probably the most comfortable shoe I've encountered. Very light and they actually do have a slight "springy" action. Excellent price too.

Great Shoe -
The shoe fit perfectly when I got them. I ran six miles the next day that I got them. The shoe felt comfortable and really cushioned my foot. I really like the look of the shoe and have gotten great comments from people that see me running in them. I am a satisfied customer and Zappos got the shoes to me with no hassle. I will definitely shop with Zappos again.

I just received the sun/black shoes today and they look and feel great!!! I am a marathoner and the shoes feel very light. Will be running the Long Beach marathon with them. I wear a 10 1/2 I ordered the 11 and they feel fine.

Finally, the right Spira!
I have been trying to find the right size and shape of Spira shoe for about a month (thanks to the easy return policy of Zappos, it's like trying them on in a store!). This is my fourth attempt and the fourth time must be the charm. Three other models proved 1/2 to a whole size too small and were all too narrow. Part of the problem may be with their size labeling: my US 9.5 was also listed as a European 42.5, instead of the 43.5 that is the proper equivalent. The upshot of this is that for this and other Spira's, order 1/2-1 whole size up from your normal. That said, I LOVE these Del Sol's. They are light, well padded, and add a noticeable spring to my step.

Spira’s wave technology is true to company claim. Stamina, stride consistency, speed, and time has greatly improved. After an 8 mile power-walk/run break in, I am actually looking forward to my early morning jogs.
For the first time in 4 years, I didn't need my knee sleeves.

Do yourself a favor, order these shoes NOW!!
I ordered these shoes on some reviews I have read, I run 2 or 3 miles every morning. I came into the Gym this morning on 4 hours of sleep and ran a 5k in these shoes for the first time and my time improved by 2 minutes! I can't wait to run in these shoes on a good nights rest. The shoe is very comfortable and I didn’t have any minor shin and knee aches like I usually do after running a 5K. The spring in the heel was great for absorbing shock, I weight 210 lbs and the springs definitely give you a little extra energy in return. Will definitely buy another pair of these.

Good shoes for bad feet -
I’ve got bone spurred feet with cortizone shots on top and I’m a runner. These Spira’s are great!
I’ve got the black and yellow Del Sol's, and people that see these love them. Very comfortable!

Fits like a glove - in a good way -
Shoe fits perfectly (1/2 size over measured shoe size as is normal for running shoes) and was true to width...most running shoes tend to be narrow thus I normally run in Brooks. Shoe works with my orthotics which is a must. Great looking too.
I don't feel like it is propelling me but definitely has great shock absorption.

Spira Del Sol -
After recently running the Indy Mini-Marathon, I had to retired my old Saucony TR5s which had about 500 miles on them. I started looking around for new shoes and I saw the Spira Del Sol in a magazine. I don't normally spend more than $80 on running shoes, but the concept of a spring in the heel intrigued me so I decided to try them out. I've had them over a week now and I can tell you that I can already feel a difference in my running. The springs actually do absorb the shock of the heel hitting the ground. With that, I have noticed that I have more endurance throughout my run whether I'm running sprints or distance. Also I was starting to feel a slight pain in my left knee in my old shoes. With the Del Sols I haven't felt that pain at all. One thing that took me a little to get use to is that it seems like you are just a little higher up off the ground in these shoes. I was kind of worried at first about turning my ankle, but after a couple of runs I got use to them and forgot all about that. I am recommending these shoes to my friends.

Great shoe -
Excellent shoe. Lightweight, flexible. Fits like a glove. The lack of overlays on the top make it especially comfortable for my hard to fit feet. I do add a cushioned insole (after removing the sock liner) to aid in forefoot cushioning. I have tried every type of running shoe (really) and this fits the best. I have high arches and large feet, so I wear a men's running shoe. I race a lot and train about 25-30 miles a week, and this does it for me. I'm fairly light, so I don't even think that I activate the heel springs, but this has helped my plantar fasciitis and heel spur pain. It is classified as a neutral shoe, but it probably belongs in the "stable" neutral category, which might make it ok if you overpronate just a little bit, if you are truly neutral, or if you underpronate just a little. I can't say enough about this shoe.

Superior shoe -
The Del Sol is one of 6 shoes in my rotation and is now my favorite. The Del Sol is for real - I've been lucky enough to wear test several Spria shoes but this one is the best in their line. These are light, comfortable beyond all expectations and the heel spring provides a noticeable feeling of energy return not experienced in other shoes. I will have to purchase my next pair and that's fine with me since they are more than worthy of my hard earned dollars.

A great fit -
I got the yellow and black ones and they really stand out. The reason why I went with Spira is because I saw that they were illegal for pro marathon runners because of the springs. I need anything that will give me an edge so I chose these. I don't "feel" the springs working, but they're really comfortable. Based on other reviews, I ordered a 1/2 size up and they feel fine.
Zappos also did a great job, as always.

You feel like you're running on springs -- because you are!!
I definitely feel the energy return on each stride. The bright yellow and black shoes draw lots of attention and comments. The toe box could, perhaps, be wider or reconfigured as my toes are suffering slightly more than they have in other shoes.

Comfortable...for 2 weeks, then not -
I was so happy to find a shoe with good cushioning. I bought this shoe and the leather walker. I am not a long-distance runner; I walk 3-4 miles per day on a dirt path and I only wear these shoes for walking, not for daily wear. So they should have lasted for a while. For about two weeks, these shoes felt great. Now, I feel even the tiniest pebble under the heel or ball of my foot -- enough to cause pain. I can even feel a tiny twig or a crack in the pavement. Not what I expect for a $90 shoe. I am going to write to see if the company will replace them. Maybe I got the defective pair. I am tempted to cut them and see if there really are springs.
