I really like these boots. I use them to ride a motorcycle in and they feel sturdy enough to feel safe but are normal enough I can wear them to work. They're comfortable enough to walk a couple of miles around my office in. Overall I'm very happy with them. However, they scar incredibly easily. I've got two large scars that I don't even know how I got. My shifter is covered in foam rubber but it's also starting to leave a scar.

Super comfortable, but two minor drawbacks. First is the cheap foam insole. It was worn out within a few weeks. After buying some aftermarket ones (I went with Spenco work boot ones) they were great. However, you'd think a shoe this expensive would have decent insoles. The other drawback is the leather is a bit too soft, it gets gashes easily. The other color style may not be the same as I noticed this is "distressed" leather on this color choice.

I got these for my boyfriend and was really excited. On Christmas morning he is a true size 10 and he could not get his foot in the boot at all. He changed to thin socks and had to really push to get his foot in and was finally able to get them on. He wore them around and they automatically stretched and now he is going to keep them. He loves them but the way the boot it made it is really hard to get your foot in them and then you have to stretch them out to get your foot out. Beware. But they are great boots so far.

I bought these to replace another pair of Doc Martens that I've worn every work day for the past 3 years. I picked these for the tan Greenland worn-in look and am glad that I did. These boots are the most comfortable work boot I've ever owned. Much more comfortable than the Red Wings and Wolverine boots that I've owned in the past.

Wonderful boots but I had to give away a pair of 13s (my usual size) and send back a pair of 14s because of the same problem. The arch on both pairs was so low that the right boot hurt to wear.

Keen Salem and Providence boots were my favorite boots ever. These look almost the same, but are made of a tougher, more rigid material that is less comfortable. The toe rubber pinches your toe when you walk, the prior boot styles did not require breaking in. They are sized a bit too large, the insoles are a little slippery, and even the outter soles are a bit slippery and are not as complex or as gripping as the old IMO. This is an inferior boot for the same price. The construction seems cheaper, like it was outsourced or something. I want the old Keens back, and I am willing to buy like 4 pairs. These don't suck but they are not worth overlooking other manufacturers for, the thing that set Keen apart was that immediate sense of comfort.
I'd also recommend:
Keen Salem, Keen Providence, some non-Keens if they don't return.

Great Boot!
I have been wanting to find a steel toed Wellington for me for work for a long time. As a woman, I have never been able to find one in my size. When I have looked, I have been told they don't make a men's Wellington small enough to fit me. I was excited to see these on the website. This pair of boots is really comfortable and I really like them. I was a bit worried that the shank might be too high. I have fat calves and sometimes my Roper's are too tight, but these boots are perfect as far as the shank height and comfort around my ankles. Zappos has done it again as far as service goes. This is the second pair of work boots I have ordered from them. I ordered around noon on a Thursday and got them around noon on Friday. About a 24 hour turn around. Can't beat that.

Nice, but they are hard to get on!
I bought these boots to use while riding a scooter. For that purpose, they are great. My only issue with them is that getting them on is a challenge. I have to wear REALLY thin socks to get them on. Each time I put them on it gets easier, so I think I'll be wearing regular socks eventually. The first try on was quite frustrating though. They are comfortable. There is not much support inside, but there is plenty of room to add a gel sole or an arch.

Doc Martens 2295 -
First I wanna say that I am a girl in a paper mill and I have a hard time finding boots. These look awesome! I also have very wide and abnormal feet. I just got these in the mail today after I had to send the first pair back because they were too big. The second pair is a little snug, but from what I understand, they will stretch majorly. I usually have this issue with all shoes so I'm not very worried. Zappos did an amazing job with the whole mail and return process. I must say I did not expect them to live up to reviews from other people, but they surpassed them. I will definitely order shoes from here again and I will be back soon to review again when my shoe completely breaks in.

Zippo!!!!
Ordered boots at 1.20pm 1/31; UPS just delivered at 1.20pm 2/1. Amazing. Packaging great, tried on boots immediately - and am still wearing them (inside). Look exactly as expected; in fact 'finish' ("Gaucho Volcano") is even better. Definitely comfortable, ankle support good. I can see why, if used as an all day work boot, why some people may insert gel/support soles. Also suggestions of long socks would probably work, esp. before leather 'worn-in'. Otherwise for rugged, cold/hard weather boots these can't be beat.

More than great looks -
I mainly wanted these boots for the looks. Something to wear in the fall with jeans or cords and a sweater. But they are so comfortable I wore them to the car show recently in Kansas City and walked around all day. I couldn't even tell they were steel toes. Climbing in and out of those big trucks and SUVs I not only felt great, I looked great too. The pair I bought mine is in gaucho and I was a little concerned about stains. But a light once over with a shoe brush and they were fine. I'm really considering another pair in greasy, for work. The boot is put together that well in my opinion. I've seen this boot priced for less, including free shipping. But they may take 4-6 wks to deliver. Zappos zapped me my boots right away and made it easy to pay with Bill Me Later.

A Great Boot for chicks in construction -
I work in the construction industry and needed a pair of steel toed boots that were cute & comfortable. These fit that bill. They are bigger than they are sized, and with almost all Doc's I've ever owned, you should go at least a size smaller than normal. I would even say 2 sizes - they stretch that much! Very, VERY comfy and good support for the back if you find yourself standing all day! Just make sure you get tall socks to go with them - prevents chaffing your calves...

They're quite nice -
In general I am very pleased with my purchase, the boots are very comfortable. About the only complaint I have is that the padding on the sides is very thick, making them push out on some jeans just a little. I expect that the more I wear them the softer the padding will get and that the effects will subside.

These are the most comfortable work boots on the market, and the padded sides make them a great riding boot as well.

Very good quality, both in materials and construction. Unfortunately they seem just a tad tight compared to other brands of the same marked size, and the heavy construction means it will take a while to stretch/break in.

I love these boots. If you notice I did rate them 4 stars across the board and not 5 stars. The reason I did that is because I feel 5 is close to perfection and honestly almost impossible to rate them that accurately after only a few weeks. My 4 star rating does not take anything away from the comfort and look of this boot. I bought these boots as my new motorcycle boots and besides just looking great, they feel great when I ride and when I am walking. The break in period was relatively small, about one night. I wore them and was on my feet for about 8 hours the first night partying and when I took them off my feet felt great. They are my first pair of Doc's ever and I don't know why I never thought of trying them before. The front of the rubber sole on one of them was slightly wider/thicker than the other side but it doesn't really affect the boot's utility and look. I definitely would recommend these boots for work or motorcycle riding or even just to wear to hang out. And the best part of this whole deal was dealing with Zappos. The boots were delivered in 2 or 3 days I think. Much quicker then I expected. There return policy is kick ass and reading the reviews on the shoes/boots is awesome. Whatever you decide to buy make sure it’s from Zappos. They rock. I am planning to buy another different pair with laces for work.

These boots stand up to the toughest work conditions. I work in a refinery and don't ever think twice about these boots. I would definitely be buying another pair when these wear out. My co-worker has been having a pair for two years now.

Nice boot but small for a Dr. Marten.
I had to order a full size over normal, the footbed was slightly below normal size while the real problem with fit was the boot is very low over the top of your foot. A full size larger gave enough room that the top of my foot wasn't bing compressed. I've been wearing Doc's for about 15 years, this is the first time I wasn't able to grab 'my' size and wear them.

Doc wearer -
Great Boot. Love the look and feel. Only wish is that the leather was more the police boot (harder) type material as these boots tend to take a few nicks and cuts (when used in industry).

I usually wear a size 10 US...but in this boot I wear a UK 8. The leather is very soft...scuffs easy, but that just allows for the cool worn in look. Very comfortable, looks great, constructed well. Takes a few days to stretch this boot in though...good alternative to Redwings.

Here's my follow up review...
Now that I've warn them for a while they still feel a little tight when I first put them on. They are made out of too soft, open grain leather for a heavy work boot & scuff a little too easily. I think they're a little pricey for what you get, but am generally satisfied with them.

New riding boots found!
I also purchased these to use as riding boots. I wish I would have known about them (if they existed) back when I used to work automotive. I would not have minded one bit walking around in these 10 hours a day. So far so good. They have broken in quickly with about two weeks of wear. Hardly any wear from the shifter to speak of. These are tough, comfy and seemingly waterproof. I have ridden several days in the rain and not even moist inside. I wish I could say the same for my alpinestars.
Hopefully they last as long as the other pair of Docs I wear daily, which are going on at least 4-5 years now.

Good boot for motorcycling -
Bought this for riding because it has ankle protection and a steel toe. VERY comfortable even riding a BMW R75 in the summer. Grips oily/goopy ground quite well and has lasted for a lot of walking and riding
Only drawback is the leather cannot be polished or cleaned very well. Scratches and scuffs show quite well. The shifter on an Aprilla Tuono shredded the toe of my left boot.

This is my husbands second pair. The shoe is true to size and ordered an extra wide size 11. However I would expect the uppers to be wider on the calf. They cut into my husbands legs for now until they stretch. Make them larger at the top for our hard working men. He only wears xl clothes so doesn’t have large calves. You would think the xl in the shoe would continue to the upper boot.
