I've been wearing Mephisto Helens for well over a decade, and I'm a fan. It's a very supportive shoe and almost the only shoe I wear around the house on my hard floors when I'm going to be on my feet most of the day in warm months. They're also attractive enough to wear out with shorts, jeans or yoga pants. My feet are on the wider side of medium and they can feel slightly snug and narrow at first but quickly break in and mold to my foot in the first hour or two. If your feet are very wide, then these shoes might not work for you.

I have been waiting to order these sandals because I like the look of them. Felt that they were expensive. Well, I ordered them and the instructions said they were a size 13 sandal. Well they were a half size too small. How disappointing! I should have read some of the reviews before buying them. It's really hard when you have big feet and want to have cool sandals.

How much do I like these? Well, these were purchased as a back-up pair just in case something happens to my previously purchased pair. Same exact color and style--yeah, I kind of love them!

Very pleased with this sandal. I do think they are too pricey but as I suffer with plantar fascitis, I decided to spring for them. I am glad I did. Great arch support and with the slip on I can easily and quickly put them on as I get out of bed. I do hope they last at least two years. I had to tight the buckle one whole leaving me only one if leather does stretch.

I have been using these kind for over 10 years and I love it. You can walk with full support. It has great foot arch support because of cork foot bed.

I always buy Mephisto Helen when I want sandals. They are comfortable right out of the box. They are well made (not in China) and are cute and stylish. I ordered size 38 which fit perfectly. My shoe size is 7.5 U.S. but I sometimes get 8 depending on the type of shoe. Buy these sandals and be prepared for compliments!

I've worn these a few times around the house before reviewing. The leather (suede) is very soft, and the insole is soft and feels so nice. It's real quality. I wear an 8M shoe, and tried size 38 and 39. It was a tough decision, but I kept the 39, reading that they should fit on the loose side as opposed to very fitted. I love the subtle neutral color and that the sole of the shoe is a nice subtle match, and doesn't scream in opposition. Something that is a real plus for me, the heel seems ever so slightly elevated, not like the almost negative drop of Birks. It feels more comfortable and doesn't cause any foot aches after wearing for a while, like the negative drop seems to do. The adjustable strap would accommodate any foot volume, I think. I have a low arch, and the support is definite, but not too aggressive to be uncomfortable. The toe strap has caused zero discomfort. I'm impressed with this shoe and will keep my eyes open for other subtle colors. I'd like it with a back strap. The Helen Perf didn't work for me because the laser cutouts rubbed on the underside. Too bad, because it's very pretty.

LOVE Helens. Haven’t bought some for a few years. Love these except they are giving me a bit of the blister on the big toe. But nothing too bad.

Rarely does a pair of shoes fit wonderfully and comfortably right out of the box..I was truly surprised. The sandal seems to perfectly support the plantar fasciitis/heel spur of my right foot, the main reason I chose this model. I wear an 8-8.5 women's size, depending on the shoe, and ordered a size 39 ( US size 9) based on a previous customer review suggestion. So I would say that this size runs a tad small as my foot fits perfectly with no room to spare. Overall this is a very good looking sandal that can be casual or dressy and exceedingly comfortable ( I really like the toe ring and adjustable strap).

I really wanted to like these sandals! They were great in every way-- except for the width. I have extremely narrow feet with many issues. I pronate badly. They would have been comfortable if they weren't too wide for my super skinny foot. The foot bed was great. They are cute too and I think would work out well for a medium width foot.

The footbed is right on for problem feet! Always beautiful leather but I got the Blue Star 2 and was a bit disappointed in the color. I thought it would be a beautiful teal. It is only dark navy. Can even look black. Still pretty. Just do not get this shoe wet! It does not like water. I have learned the pass two years to not get it wet. Ruins the cork shape.

The Mephisto Helen is the perfect summer sandal offering super cuteness, durabillity, sublime comfort and great support. The footbed cradles and molds to the feet, adding to the overall comfort. Two years ago I got the waxed dark brown leather pair and wore them almost everyday during the warmer summer months. After 2 summers of wear the cork portion at the toe area is the area that is showing the most signs of wear, but I can get one more summer out of this pair if I alternate them another pair. To increase longevity of these sandals it is advised to not get the cork portion of sole wet but if so, avoid drying shoes with extreme heat, like next to a furnace or blazing hot sun. I wore these on several camping trips and on several occasions walked through rain puddles and wet grass, but was careful to let them dry out before I wearing again. I ususally wear size 6.5-7, but listened to the sales person's advice in Victoria BC and went down to size 6. Size 6 was the right choice. Like all leather, The straps do stretch a bit with wear, but you can always adjust the buckle to increase/decrease tightness. I'm loving these so much that I'm getting ready to buy a second pair to alternate with my older Helens. Highly recommend!!!!

I love all my Mephisto Helen sandals. This was the first navy blue leather rather than suede I've seen. I prefer the leather as they wear better and I wear these shoes all year round indoors and also outdoors when it gets warmer. I've never had any problems with them but I've read other reviews that said they run small. I wear a 6 1/2 shoe and always get a size 36 in the Helen which fits perfectly.

I’ve been buying these shoes for about 20 years after a doctor recommended them. I use to feel like I was pretty hip wearing them but now there are a lot of knockoffs. My 88 year old mother showed up in them the other day. I’ll still use them as my everyday shoe because they’re so comfortable.

High quality sandals. Worth the money!

I've been wearing the Gizeh style of Birkenstocks for several years and have them in multiple colors. It was time to replace one of the colors and I really wanted a nude tone for summer but the closest Birkenstock has is stone which is too gray for me. I saw this Helen style in Mephisto and actually liked the look more than the Birkenstock Gizeh. When I found they had the tan / camel color I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did. As the other colors of my Birkenstock Gizehs need replacing, I'll be purchasing Mephisto Helens instead. Not only are they prettier on my foot, they are much more comfortable as they have a bit more padding. This also adds a little extra height which I like as well. I normally wear a 39 in Dansko, Birkenstock, and Kork Ease and found 39 was perfect for me in Mephisto as well.

I was looking for sandals as comfortable as my Birkenstocks, but more feminine. These fit the bill perfectly! Following the advice, I ordered up a size from my Birkenstocks, but ended up needing the same size as Birkenstocks. I wore them straight out of the box for a city day trip with lots of walking (dangerous I know!), but they were extremely comfortable.

This is my second pair of the Helen sandals. I love them! They are my everyday comfy sandals & the Silver Nairobi is my favorite. They are padded & super comfortable & they last & last!! Great quality. It's hard to find a good supportive sandal like this that is also good looking!! And this one is!! I get complements all the time wearing these. They've got a luminous look to them & are pretty! I normally wear an 8 in sandals but these I wear a 9 to fit properly with a little toe room. This time the inner leather around the toe area was a little rough, so they'll either wear in or I'll put some kind of tape/bandaid to soften it a little,. But they are worth it. Best shoes ever!

Great site to deal with!! Fast delivery I have four pairs of Mephisto sandals. This is the second pair of the Helen Black patent ones. I wore out the first ones!! Actually still use them for slippers but wanted new ones to wear on holidays. The most comfortable sandals I've ever owned!! I wear a size 8 in a shoe, 9 in a sneaker and wear a size 39 in the Mephisto.

These are the best! My third pair. I had previously had chronic plantar faciitis, and wore hard orthotics every waking moment in order to get rid of it. These or Birkenstocks are the only sandals that prevent re-occurrence, and these look much nicer. I bought the black waxy leather for a more dressy look. I love them! I am normally a size 10, euro 41, and the size 11, euro 41 are perfect.

When I first put these on, I thought I would have to return them. I have a bunion and thought it was going to be a problem, but, I loved them so much I started wearing them around the house. I am not having any trouble, they have become more comfortable and I show no signs of blisters or rubbing. The toe rubbed at first but has since stopped. I love them and would recommend them.

I buy a new pair of these every two years, in black and brown. They are my house shoes, run around town shoes, and when they are almost worn out, they become my gardening shoes. Very supportive arch for me. I get compliments on the black ones occasionally - women (young and old) ask what brand are they, where to buy, etc. I'm a true 9 1/2 and I buy size 40.

Super comfortable and stylish. My teenage daughter cannot wear the rubber flip flops for a variety of reasons. She loves these as they offer excellent support. The grey etna color is!

I first purchased the gray etna Helen and was so impressed with the comfort and the looks of this sandal. I used to wear Birkenstocks and they were comfy, but hated the "fart" sound they made when wearing them. I stopped wearing them many years ago because of this. But these Mephisto have little airholes in the heel area and they don't make the "fart" sound like the Birkenstocks. I'm in love! So, I ordered the black waxy Helens next. Comfort as soon as I put these on too. I'm considering ordering another color! By the way, I have had heel spurs in the past, had my right knee totally replaced, and no longer wear uncomfortable shoes. Comfort is the main thing I look for in a shoe. Looks come 2nd. But these Mephisto Helens fit the bill in both instances for me. Comfort, good looks, good arch support, and comfort in the heel area with no weird noises! Love them! Pricey, but when your feet feel good, what is price?
