Top-of-the-line-class-grade-A. It's true, it's all true--everything the men above have written--the Florsheim wing-tip is unequaled, it really is top of the line; Mr. Quinlan is right, Florsheim made some changes--unfortunately--in the mid-90s, or thereabouts--but the shoe still has no equal, no other company does them so well. Well constructed, a clean, solid look, setting a firm standard. Superb!

Every man should have a pair of shoes like these. Incredible workmenship and quality leather that matches shoes twice as expensive, with a timeless style that will never go out of style. I have 3 pairs (black, tan cashmere, and wine) and can not imagine wearing anything else. The cashmere finish leather is truly a work of art. I don’t think any other brand come close to what the Kenmoors offers for the price. In fact, few brands can match it at more than double its price. As a cheaper alternative, Dexter Madison offer a shoe that comes close to the Kenmoor at a lower price point. And if money is not an issue, Alden offers their masterwork wingtip in cordovan leather which is probably the only shoe that betters the Kenmoor, but at a price that is more than twice as much.

Kenmoor -the only shoe worth owning. I've been wearing Kenmoors for almost 20 years. I qualify as a fanatic. I have over 15 Pairs. Plain, wingtip, calf, cordovan. I preferred it with the full leather heel/vplate which was stopped a few years ago. These are not quite up to the standard that the Kenmoor style used to set, but even with some compromises that Florsheim has made, no other wingtip of its type that I have found can compare.

Great shoe. This is the most comfortable all leather shoe that I have ever worn. Since I need to have leather shoes that are built up, due to a car wreck, I wear this type dress shoe every day. I've worn this type of shoe for the past twelve years.

Fine shoe. I have a pair of these shoes that I have worn for nearly 20 years and am now retiring due to some bad repair work on the sole. The best value in a shoe I have ever had. I can't seem to find my size (15) any more. TEJ Charleston, SC

Three and counting. I have three pairs of these shoes (and counting). I bought my first pair ten years ago when I could hardly afford them, but saw them in a store and wanted them because the craftsmanship was so outstanding. These are truely striking shoes to see and comfortable enough to wear all day long. I've just re-soled two of them for the third time and will keep on doing so until they tell me it can't be done. If you buy these shoes, you will not be disappointed. But be careful because you could end up refusing to wear any other shoe. Like me.

The Devil is in the details. Greetings! Classic longwing bluchers abound these days. Every traditional shoemaker has more than one model in his catalogue. I have compared this Florsheim model with their direct rivals, mainly the Allen-Edmonds' MacNeil and the Alden Wingtip Blucher Oxford and frankly, none of the other shoes looks or feels better than the Kenmoor. Being from Spain, I am familiar with leather, as my country makes one of the best-quality leather in the world. That is the first detail that separates it from the rest: the treatment the leather has received in the Kenmoor, which gives it a subtle but striking look, best appreciated in the tan color, (the one I own), which by the way is handstained, (check out the larger picture to see this for yourself). The second great difference is the double leather outsole, which guarantees years of use and lasting quality. Last, is the price, which is from $70 to $75 better than the above mentioned competitors. This is Florsheim's top and most expensive model, their true masterwork and it's worth every penny.

THE Traditional Dress Shoe - Timeless. As a young man, I'm fairly new to this shoe that has been the choice of quite a few gentlemen long before me. A sturdy, but comfortable shoe that has quality written all over it from the foot-hugging all-leather uppers (they conform perfectly) to the stout leather soles that last for years. I've found that in footwear, you really do get what you pay for and it doen't pay to skim in this department. The finest shoe made in the finest style to come about. The classic lines and overall good looks of this shoe will make it a permanent part of my wardrobe. Hope they are never discontinued.

I have two pairs of 1980s pebble grain Kenmoor longwings. They were the absolute top of the line from Florsheim, which at the time was making better shoes than Allen Edmonds, Alden or whomever you care to name. I have a custom shoe rebuilding who put the soles and heels on these, to the exact specs of the original factory job with an eye toward factory new appearance. I have to be careful when I wear them, because you can resole them but you can't take out scratches in the uppers. So far so good. I calculate with the amount of wear these get (maybe once every two weeks for each) they'll last me the rest of my life, especially if I keep the soles lubricated with Harness Honey. As for the shoes on display here, they are but a pale shadow of the original. I bought a pair in Cognac just to fill out the wardrobe, and they don't have the heft, flexibility, obvious leather quality or fit and comfort of the real Florsheims. Unfortunately you can't call the Florsheim factory in Chicago and have them make you a pair. The quality of leather that goes into all shoes is declining badly. You can still get Horween shell cordovan from Allen Edmonds and Alden if you're prepared to shell out three times what these shoes cost. But when the shoe business failed in the USA, the shoe leather business did as well. I have no doubt Florsheim makes these out of the best leather they can find for their price point. When E.T. Wright went out of business last year, I bought twelve pairs of their Arch Preserver shoes in various styles because of my experience with Florsheim. I knew that those shoes, the most comfortable dress shoes in the world, would no longer be available at any price, and Wrights were astoundingly inexpensive for the Vintage Florsheim-level of quality they produced. I'm glad I have enough good American made shoes in my possession to never again need to purchase dress shoes from India or China. These shoes are okay. But not so long ago you could have bought something truly special under this same name. It's almost a crime to poach the Kenmoor name and hang it on this.

I have 2 pair - black and wine, and to me they are not as nice as the Allen Edmonds Weybridge, Park Avenue, or McClaine, which I also have. The Allen - Edmonds leather is nicer and they look much nicer with a suit. The upside for the Florsheim (this model) is that it has a double thick sole. Other than that, the leather, especially on the wine, looks like the color is sprayed on, not dyed into the leather. If you scratch it through to the leather, you can’t wax over it. They shine like glass if that's what you want, but the AE finishes to me are much nicer.

Classic Quality Shoes. No question about the quality of these shoes. Like a previous reviewer, I found these run about a 1/2 size larger. I ordered a size 12 and had to return them for an 11.5. I was glad I ordered the extra wide as they seem to run a little narrow as well. In this day of shoes that are comfortable out of the box, they still require the old fashioned break-in period. I have been wearing evenings the last couple of weeks and wore them to church for an hour last Sunday. I was glad to take them off after an hour, but know they will eventually break themselves in. Again, there is no question that those purchasing these shoes will feel "well heeled".

This wingtip is a total disappointment. It looks good, but after a week or more of trying to break them in, they still rub my heel and are too stiff. They are also remarkably narrow for an EEE.

Great look. Lousy Feel - The shoe looks magnificent, but the fit and feel was atrocious. Stiff and wooden in feel, it was not a comfortable fit at all. Be cautious walking on anything but carpet as the hard sole nearly cost me to take a spill on the lobby floor. The concrete walk from my driveway was another adventure in keeping my balance as the shoe seems to hold no grip. If you wish to sit in a chair and appear to have a wonderful shoe by all means get this one - but keep a pair of decent shoes to actually walk in. I would not recommend this shoe.

Too late! This is my 4th pair of shoes from Zappos. Unfortunately, this pair, which I have in Brown also was delivered and I immediately wore them on a business trip. I did not realize that the this pair was an 11.5B until I started to really feel the tightness on the top of my left foot. I did not specify 11.5B; just the 11.5 regular. It’s too late for a return / exchange as I had wore them for a day trip. I guess your company was just trying to dump the last pair with the unusual fit. Thanks to me for being the loyal customer.

French bindings are made of imitation leather and wear through after a few months' wear. Florsheim refused to replace bindings or shoes. It will now cost at least $150 to replace French bindings, which are the pipings at the top of the shoe. My other Florsheim shoes don't have this defect.

Good looks don't equal comfort. Great looking shoe; HARD leather uppers; the sole of the foot feels impaled on an unyielding surface!
