Overall good shoe -
I really like this pair of shoes. They are very comfortable for dress shoes and required no time to break in. no blisters or having to switch to another pair half way through the day.
The only issue I had when ordering is that the shoes run larger and narrower than normal. I normally wear a 9.5 regular and had to get an 8.5E in this shoe.

New Boots -
Looked for a good lace up ankle boot for quite a while. The boot is comfortable, goes well with business casual attire and has been a welcome addition to my shoe rotation. It goes really well with corduroy. Would have liked it even better if it had come in cordovan or a darker brown.

It's like walking on air!!!
Let me say this to all of you out there that may happen to glance at this review: Do it! Buy it! Get yours now! I am one that has always been very skeptical about buying anything over the internet, especially when it comes to clothing or shoes. Because I have a large foot 13EEE, 14D or E, I always buy my shoes right where I can try them on and see if they fit or not. I also know that my left foot is larger than the right, so I always try on the left shoe. If the left shoe fits and it feels good, then I know I'm buying me a pair of shoes. This is the first time I have ever brought any type of apparel via the internet and only the third time that I've made any purchase over the internet in my life (I've had internet service since 1996). I honestly have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with my purchase and the fit was fantastic. I've always wanted a stylish boot shoe that was smart and elegant looking and fit well (looking smart with screaming toes or feet just doesn't cut it). Believe me when I say I will be looking for other shoes on this site in the very near future. Although the shoes are beautiful and they feel fantastic, I just wish that they were a chocolate brown color that would have been the ultimate. I'm seriously considering getting them in black too.

Too much Country, not enough Rock n Roll-
These shoes are hot, got to admit it. However, they're a bit shiny, which can actually be cool if you let them scuff and break in rather than polish them like precious gems. The biggest drawback is if worn with the wrong pants they look like cowboy boots. If worn with strait or pegged leg pants the look is way more rock n roll. Or plaid shorts w/ black socks and sock garters; another hot look.

Great Shoe!
I purchased the black boot, after looking at them wantingly for several months. It was worth the wait! I love these boots! I walk to work in them, almost 1.5 miles each day and they are super comfortable. I've been wearing them in various weather conditions and they seem to be holding up great. My only complaint is that they feel a half or whole size larger than marked. Beware of this! They will stretch out well, so go lower than you think. Otherwise, this a perfect shoe for me!

The Stacy Adams Madison boot is unquestionably a striking piece of footwear. I received my order in short time and have been very pleased with the fit and appearance of this shoe. Having stated that, I have my doubts about the quality of this shoe. It seems to appear somewhere between a decent quality shoe and not. Time will tell. As with other reviewers, I replaced the flat shoestrings more befitting an athletic shoe with some round dressier ones. I also have had the upper part of the sole dyed black to match the rest of the shoe. The white stitching and brown leather reminds me more of a cowboy boot than that of a dress shoe.
Also as earlier reviewers stated, I have found the soles to be quite slippery and have had non-slip put on them.
For the money and work involved in these shoes, I think they are well worth it. I would definitely replace them with the same when the time comes, and I will definitely do business again with Zappos as they seem to be a very good company to do business with.

Dress down or up -
These are excellent shoes for someone that needs to be able to toss on a sportcoat and fit in with a bunch of suits. Keep a microfiber
jacket in your saddlebags and your good to go.

Wonderful looking shoe and comfortable however the shoe is made of bad leather and begins to crack and wear out in a brief amount of time.

I love how they fit, and that I can get them in a EE width. I wish that they lasted longer. Wearing them outdoors they begin to split out in the uppers after 12 months. As a maker of things I will pay more money if they last longer. Having said that, if after giving these boots better treatment they still don't give me the length of service I want (2-3 years) I will likely not be buying a fourth pair.

I have always loved Stacy Adams shoes. It's the only brand of shoe I will wear. But I do have a problem with this pair of shoes. Some of the rivets on the eyelets on both shoes came loose the minute I laced them up. That's not good.

Im using this product for a roller skate build as a custom skate build . The reasons why i chose these are because of the build quality and the durabillity of the sole which is the main part and focal point for the roller skate plate to be mounted to. I really like the steel inside , the wooden and stitched sole ensures that they will last quite a while without worrying about any sole seperation such as plastic glued non - stiched soles have . Other than a Red wing , Riedell company roller skate boot , or vanillaskateco's new vanilla "Godfather" boot, This may be the sturdiest , stiffest , well balanced between materials , weight , and durabillity for the lowest price possible for a roller skate . A majority of california skaters and los angeles and detroit , wear this specific boot . i gave this product review 3 stars because i havent built the skate yet as i had to send my first pair if stacy adams back for a smaller size . I bought a 9.5 and returned for a 8.5 and fit perfect as i wear a size 9.5 shoe.

The packaging caused creases in all 3 pair I bought looked as they wear worked before except the sole was clean. I love the shoes but not how I received them.

The shoes were too long, and the shoe laces were too short for them to be worn according to the way the shoe is made to be worn.

I took the advice of the other reviewers and ordered a full size down from my normal size and a wide (E) width. I was surprised to find the "E" to be extremely narrow and uncomfortable - comically narrow. I can imagine the "D" width to be of a doll's shoe.
The length was fine, but I returned them for the "EE".

The Madison boot is an age old tradition in my family. I've been wearing that style at least 35 years with a gap of about 12 years from my most recent purchases. I am disappointed because on all pair, behind the band that stretches across the shoe they are cracking and I have never had that happen.

These are my go to casual dress shoes, and I've been wearing them in now for a full year. They have held up very nicely to this point in time, with the normal wear you'd expect from day to day use. They are comfortable and classy. To address the material concerns of a few other reviewers: The Build quality is exceptional. The material is kidskin leather, which is thinner and smoother then traditional leather. Granted, these are not work boots, so I wouldn't expect them to last traipsing through the wilderness. Without lacing them up fully, the laces tend to drag as if your shoes are untied. And even fully laced up, the laces sometimes tend to come undone. It's not a huge issue enough to deter from my overall satisfaction of the shoes, but it does make me consider swapping out the laces at times. Overall, they are my favorite pair of shoes to date, and my only regret was that I didn't hunt down a pair in the taupe.

Nice looking, but I thought the leather felt stiff and flimsy upon first inspection...though, as it's supposedly kid, it might soften up quite a bit and wear beautifully. I couldn't keep them because they were so narrow. Though marked E, they seemed far narrower than that.

I had high hopes for these shoes. I needed high backed shoes because I need to be able to fit an orthotic into it that has over a 1" heel lift, due to a severe accident I was in. The leather is thin and feels sort of cheap, especially the tongue of the shoe which is very thin and feels more like cardboard with a paper thin layer of leather over it. There is not a nice cushioned insole inside the shoe, it has nothing whatsoever inside of it, unlike almost all other shoes. The shoe does look a little long for the size as others have commented, but it is definitely not big for its size in terms of width and height inside the shoe. I had some trouble fitting the orthotic into the shoe due to the narrow width in the heel, and once it was in there the shoe was too tight on top of my foot. Obviously this is not a problem most people are going to deal with, so take that with a grain of salt, but some people do have custom orthotics these days. That issue aside, the shoes are just okay at best. I did not put both shoes on and walk around, so I cannot comment much about the comfort or how squeaky there are (something many people have pointed out).
