I owned several pairs of the original F-Lite 195s and was left scrambling to find a shoe to replace it when Inov-8 discontinued them. When the updated version was released I immediately ordered a pair and could not be happier with the shoe. Lighter than the original, but the same great minimal feel. I use them for running, sprints, and lifting. I've had no issues with ripping, tearing or poor construction despite wearing them for every training session since I got them. If you prefer minimal shoes with little support and a lot of ground feel then this shoe won't disappoint. My only suggestion would be make an electric blue version similar to the green.

Great shoe. Light, stylish, comfortable, great workout shoe.

Great shoe for running and hiking in the mountains and all kinds of terrain. Amazing traction even on wet rocks. I also love the look of the gray version I ordered. They do run small, I had to order a size bigger to get the right fit.

Wow! So, lightweight. I order in two sizes and, unfortunately, I'm returning both. I need extra wide to accommodate bunions, and these just didn't work. They didn't feel like they offered much arch support either.

I bought these after I saw one of the masters at kung fu wearing these. I have been in search of good shoes for Kung Fu for a long time, with very little success. They felt too much like a bulky shoe. I needed some padding and support, but not the same that most shoes give me. These made me feel like I was barefoot but had some support to them. I have had foot problems for years and my foot does not bother me in these shoes. They do shrink sometimes when you get them wet from a workout. It is not a bad idea to order at least 1/2 size bigger.

I have had two pairs of these and both lasted less than a week before ripping on the left foot at where my toes start.

The insole pinched my arch. I have relatively flat wide arches.

Fantastic shoe for Crossfit. I have wide feet and these are the only zero drop shoes I've found that fir me comfortably. I have high instep and arches so I wear Dr. Scholls insoles with mine, plenty of room and very comfy for running, lifting, etc. Will be buying more in the standard fit.

Liked the look and width but the shoe seemed to be made with low quality products and has no Achilles support.

Great looking and comfortable minimal shoes. I've read many reviews that say they run small, but they are precisely the same length and fit as the previous Innov8 shoes I was wearing, so I would say order your normal size. Overall I'm very pleased with them, and I've always been impressed with the quality and durability of Innov8, so I expect these will last through many workouts.

New favorite shoes. I have been weight training in my running shoes, but they never felt quite right -- always on my toes. I saw a guy in these at the gym, who gave them a thumbs' up. Here's what I like: Flat sole. No unnecessary heel lift. Wide toe box, allowing my toes to spread out and feel the floor of the gym. Especially good for balance. Cool (my feet tend to get hot). Will definitely buy again when these wear out.

Great sneaker, but extremely narrow. Everything else fit true to size. Had to return them because of the width.

Definitely not enough shoe to warrant the price of these. Did not feel like they would hold up to intense workouts. After trying them on and returning them, I would not pay more than $70 for them. Innov8 needs to bring back the F-Lite 230, those were great shoes and I have no idea why they would have quit making them.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shoes! I was looking for a new cross train shoe and this was recommended on a site so I decided to try - completely unfamiliar with the brand. They are beyond comfortable and they breathe - my feet feel so cool! VERY happy with this purchase!! Note on sizing - I always get .5 size bigger for sneakers and was true here too.

As another reviewer noted, this are indeed the "standard" INOV-8 fit. However, they are extremely narrow and at least a half-size smaller in length than the F235v2. They seem okay otherwise, but the narrowness is a deal breaker for me. I love the F235v2 and will probably get another pair instead.

I used to love Inov-8, but several years ago they changed their last. Natural fit was amazing, and the new Standard fit is more like a traditional shoe. Standard fit cuts off the space for my big toe. Furthermore, the shoe is too short. What a loss. In the pictures, you can see the shape of a Natural Trailroc 236 (pink) vs Standard Roclite 290 in the exact same size.

Not for wide feet. Love the look, lightweight, good stable trainers but the housing for the laces is some kind of hard plastic material, and the edge of it cut into my feet just below the toe box. Wish it had fit, as the toe box is usually my problem (always too narrow)and the toe box is really roomy. Boo hoo.

I am not sure what these shoes are made for. They have a grippy surface, which makes them better suited for trails/ice and not suitable for flat dry road. The also have a well-protected front to protect your foot from, say, bumping into a tree root. At the same time, their asymmetric outsole appears to suggest they are made for road rather than trail (where it is useless in my opinion).

I know a lot of people said these run small, but I would disagree. I took their advice and ordered the 7.5 instead of an 8 and now I'm having to exchange them for an actual 8. So they run more true to size than people are saying, just FYI. Otherwise they're great.

I ordered these for running in dog agility trials, both for slippery outdoor conditions in wet grass and for indoor artificial turf. I received the Talons on Friday and took them to a 2-day indoor trial on the weekend, wearing them all day (sockless) for two consecutive days. I have very high arches. Amazingly good results! They were excellent on the artificial turf, with good grip and fast turning with no slipping and no "catching" the turf. But more importantly, I didn't notice I had shoes on for two days -- they felt that natural on my feet, even though they were brand new and not "broken in." I should mention that I have had quite a bit of trauma to one foot -- a Lisfranc injury and a break in 8 places during a racquetball game 30 years ago, and later a significant running injury to the peroneal tendon. This foot goes numb in most shoes, running included, and it is a constant fight to keep it feeling normal. I had no numbness at all in the Talons. I almost can't believe it! I also have arthritis in both feet after decades of running, and after a 2-day agility trial, when I'm on my feet a great deal, I'm usually almost hobbled with pain. Tonight I'm sitting here writing this review with zero pain at all -- it's like I wasn't even on my feet. For my particular foot injuries and circumstances, and for my particular sporting needs, these Talons are as perfect as any running shoe has been in a decade.
