Craig Taylor
Craig Taylor was born the youngest of three sons to an American architect and Danish model. In his youth, Craig had all the advantages of a multicultural upbringing, traveling throughout Europe, and enjoying an eclectic home life frequented by artists and musicians. An avid car enthusiast, he began his professional life as an auto designer in England. During this time, Craig Taylor also received his first taste of British fashion. He began a casual apprenticeship on the weekends with tailors who worked beneath the haberdasheries on London’s famed Jermyn Street. There, he culled the vast differences between the meticulous construction of bespoke shirts versus mass manufacturing. This lesson crafted an imprint in Taylor’s mind.
In 1993, the Craig Taylor women's shirt collection was launched. By 1995, the line had evolved from a series of architecturally-designed white shirts to include a multitude of colorful fabrics procured from the top weavers in Italy, Switzerland and England.
Today, Craig Taylor is truly in his element as he continues to present new techniques in fabric design and construction to maintain his exceptional product. Each new season, Craig Taylor introduces fresh styles and innovative details – modern takes on vintage pieces that he’s procured from Paris flea markets and London vintage clothing stores throughout the years. In order to maintain the quality of his signature tailoring, Craig Taylor now has a design studio and production facility in Southern California where the shirts are made in the same exacting manner as when Craig started his collection.
