Cotton's Blue Jeans Go Green | Zappos for Good [Update 5/2022]

Zappos for Good is collaborating with Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program to collect cotton denim jeans and meal delivery insulation liners, which can be recycled to create something new.

Authentic denim is made mostly from cotton, a sustainable fiber. By choosing sustainable clothes and recycling old denim, you can help make a positive impact on the planet. Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program transforms old denim into new products such as pet bed inserts, industrial mattresses, and more.

78,174 Pieces of Denim

What Type of Denim Apparel Can Be Recycled?

Denim in any condition can be recycled! As long as it is at least 90% cotton with all paper and plastic removed, Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program is able to repurpose the denim and put it to good use!

Did you know that most meal delivery services use insulation made from denim?

By using insulation liners made from recycled denim, food can stay fresh and temperature-controlled in transport, liners can be recycled again (and again) for continued use, and denim waste can stay out landfills. Thanks to the renewability and circularity of cotton, we can continue the sustainable lifecycle.
