My daughter loves these shoes. We have been Vans fans for several years. Just remember to order a size down as the Vans run a whole size (sometimes 1.5 times) big.

My daughter wears these to school every day since they need to wear black/brown shoes as part of the school uniforms. She loves them, says they are very comfortable. This is our second pair; the last ones made it through a whole school year, unlike the Keds that fell apart quickly and have no arch support!

Solid kids shoe. The laces untie a lot (as you might expect with 8 year olds), and then they get stepped on and the ends fray. But these last much longer overall than the cheapo shoes at the discount store, so it's worth it. And they look good. Classic.

About Vans Kids
Vans started in Anaheim, CA in 1966 1966 Paul Van Doren and three partners opened the first store at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, Calif. on March 16. The Van Doren Rubber Company is unique in that it manufactures shoes and sells them directly to the public.
Early 70s - Skateboarders who like Vans’ rugged make-up and sticky sole are seen sporting Vans all over Southern California.
1976 - The Vans #95, now known as the Era, with a padded collar and different color combinations, is designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta and becomes the shoe of choice for a generation of skateboarders
1979 - The Vans #44 is introduced and with the help of skateboarders and BMX riders, Vans Slip-ons become the rage in Southern California. By the end of the 70s, Vans has 70 stores in California and sells through dealers both nationally and internationally
1997 - Vans begins creating the world’s leading action sports series with the purchase of the Triple Crown of Surfing; by 2000 the Vans Triple Crown Series will include events in skateboarding, BMX, surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and freestyle motocross
Fun Facts/Trivia:
1982 - Vans Slip-ons gain international attention and appeal when they are worn by Sean Penn in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
2000 - Vans finances the production of Dogtown and Z-Boys, Stacy Peralta’s look at the beginnings of skateboarding and the personalities that evolved the sport. The film takes the Audience Award and Best Director Award at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is narrated by Sean Penn.

Zappos is great. Just when you think you can't find the shoe you want, go to Zappos. They have it and it's in your hands in 24 hours. My grandchildren thank you too.

I had never ordered shoes online because I wasn't sure if they would fit. Well, I ordered two pair of Vans for my son and I received them fairly quick. I was also guaranteed exchange or refund without hassle. When the shoes arrived they both were a perfect fit. My son was happy. I also recommended Zappos to my sister.

My 8 year old daughter loves these shoes! She gets a lot of compliments on them. The color is a beautiful bright red and seems to go with just about everything. They are comfortable also! She wears them with everything! We went to Disney and Hollywood Studios and she wore them the entire time and did not complain about her feet hurting. Vans are a well made product!

I've owned at least 20 pairs of Vans, but this pair, purchased for my son is the worst ever. They started to fall apart before the were even broken in. Complete failure of the white banding on the front half of both shoes. My son loves them, so I spent awhile repairing them with shoe goo. Serious manufacturing flaws. So unhappy.

My daughter loves these! We chose the right shoe. They are comfortable, cool, and the right color for us! Usually she complains that her shoes hurt her feet, but we have heard no such complaints with these Vans. Zappos' service is always amazing, too!
