I love these boots. My last pair of similar Sorels lasted for 20 years. I ordered another make but returned them for this one because it is lighter weight. They are easy to slide into for quick runs out to the barn if you leave the laces adjusted loose. In high snowfalls, you just have to lace them tight and the trim keeps the snow out. The uppers are narrow enough to fit inside of insulated snow pants. There is room to tuck my blue jeans inside. I use them in late fall as horse trailer camping slippers because they repel the heavy dew on the grass and during the night I can put my bare feet into the soft, thick felt for quick trips outside without drenching my riding shoes. They hose off while you are standing in them which makes them an easy mud/muck boot for the slush season. I used them as a snow hiker when clearing trails in winter. They are warm and comfy and dry even with feet that perspire a lot. I am an exact size 9.5 and ordered a 9.0 after reading reviews that they run large. I have to return them for a size 10 because my toes hit the front in light hiking socks. So, I don't agree that they run large. Give yourself plenty of toe room so that you can wear them loose most of the time!

I purchased this boot for my wife, who always complains of cold feet. I had a similar pair of boots a few years ago, and loved them... my feet were always toasty, and I thought for sure that this pair of boots would be great for her as well. Unfortunately, she thinks that these boots look too large on her feet, so I am going to return them. Next time I think that I'll just get her a pair of flip flops. But I would recommend these boots to any normal human being...

I love these boots but its slippery sole made it impossible for me to wear in the city. Do not wear these boots if you will be walking on slippery surfaces. I almost fell a number of times when walking in subway stations. Then I fell down a flight of stairs and broke my tailbone. All because the sole has no traction on wet surfaces. They are great for treking outside but that is it. Inside it feels like you are trying to walk on oil. That iss too bad because the rest of the boot is great.

These boots are the best snow boots hands down: total classic, cool styling. My feet have never been cold or wet in these despite stomping through snow piles and slush puddles. The only complaint is sizing. I'm an 8 or 8.5 usually. The 8 is just a tad too small, but the 9 is enormous. I ended up going with the 8 because I love the boots, and I just trip over myself in the 9. I wish they came in half sizes.

I ordered a size 10 which is what I regularly wear at my daughter's suggestion. They fit perfect and there is no need for heavier socks. They are so warm. A little heavy for walking compared to what I am used to but not uncomfortable.

These boots are great to keep your feet nice and toasty. High quality boot. I am normally a size 9, so I ordered a size 9. 9's came and they were too big, so I got an 8. 8 was too tight. I wish Sorel made size 8 1/2... I had to take both back. :( Zappos.com has a great return policy!

I bought these for a December trip to Yosemite. There was little snow on the ground, but it was very cold hiking, and the boots were perfect. They kept me from turning my ankles as well. My feet were warm and toasty. I packed them in my suitcase with snow chains in checked bag!

I just got these and they're comfy. I live in Manhattan and I know when the snow starts they will keep me protected. I am a true 7 1/2 so I ordered an 8 and they fit very well with a little wiggle room. I can even wear big cozy socks and walk well. They have a nice width on them too, I have wide feet.

I had been eyeing these boots for a couple of years and finally decided to go for it. I am very glad I did. It was a bit difficult to slip the boots on and off the first time or two that I wore them due to the boot liner. But they now slide on and off with ease but I think they are snug enough to not let in any snow or slush. Great purchase.

I live in Colorado and have multiple pairs of various snow books. These are by far my favorite when it comes to keeping my feet warm and comfort. The added bonus that the insoles come out so you can warm them before you put them on is brilliant!

Just received these, so I can't really speak about wear, I am a size 8.5 so I ordered 9's, which were much too long and wide. Exchanged for 8's which are perfect even with thick socks, although I'm not sure thick socks are req'd with the warm liner.

Very good boot. Warm and comfortable. Felt a little small. The liner will come out when you take the boots off, which would be a pain, but they slide right back in. Overall comfort and warmth make this a great boot!

I normally wear a 7.5, so I ordered an 8, which fit with thick socks. These are so warm, the thick socks are not necessary, so I ended up returning for the 7. I do wish they had the half size. These are a bit heavy, but you get used to it pretty quickly. I ordered the shale/stone color, and I think they are about as attractive as snow boots get! Also, I typically don't like removable liners because they never go back in right... didn't have that problem with these - held their shape, and slipped right back in.

I ended up going with tried and true Sorel for travel in rural Alaska. While I loved the lighter, sexier, Patagonia Lugano Lace boot, I knew I needed a super rugged boot for -40. Also, I can replace the felt lining. Bought my first pair in 1986.
Brands I'd also recommend: Patagonia, Mephisto

I have yet to take these out but it's already love. Bought a few pairs of boots to try...many were cuter but these are the true winner! So plush, so cushy, so toasty, and so functional! They're not cute. They make me look like Bigfoot. But with a Montana winter coming up, who gives a rodent rump? They feel well constructed and I'm looking forward to getting at least 4 or 5 long snowy winters of backcountry stomping and cleaning off the car!
Brands I'd also recommend: Merrell, Dansko

These fit great for winter boots! I like the color and the style. The liner is removable which is great if it gets wet. I'm excited to test these out in the snow and cold this winter!

I absolutely LOVE these boots! They're so well made, fashionably black, tough enough for the streets of NYC, super warm, and they will kick the butt of any blizzard! Bring it on, Mother Nature!!

I love the boots, I haven't worn them in the snow and cold yet, but even though they are not "frilly" the white fluffy part at the top does give it a bit of a feminine touch. I have big calves, and they fit lower than the Joan of Artic boot (which I thought made my leg look enormous; it is higher on the leg and all the fluff at the top !!!!!).

This is a preliminary review of fit and comfort, having just received the boots. I am a wide size 8. I ordered the boots in a size 8 because I plan on wearing them with thick winter socks, I was pretty sure a whole size smaller would be too narrow for my wide toes, and I would rather have my winter boots be a little roomy than too tight. I have found that too-tight boots do a poor job of keeping feet warm. These fit me very well. In the thin socks I wore today, my heels are not slipping out of place. I can wiggle my toes with ease. I think that with thick socks on, they will be absolutely perfect. People with narrow feet or people who are a half size might want to go down in size. The tops of the boots rub a bit on bare legs, but they will be fine with pants tucked into them or with tights on, I believe. They do not look trendy, but they do look classic.
