SmartWool is that: smart. It's warm in winter and cool in summer. Merino is the king of wool; there is nothing finer. If you care about your feet and want to feel good all day, wear SmartWool. These little slippies are perfect inside your little flats you would normally wear with nothing, but they up the comfort level immeasurably. Take a look at the inside of your shoe. Does that really look comfortable? It's not meant to be; that's why we have socks. But we sometimes don't like the look of a sock, or perhaps your shoe won't accommodate the bulk of a sock. No matter. These sockies are thin enough to fit yet still feel substantial enough that you don't feel all the lumps inside your shoes. Wash them in cold without softener for the best of the merino. Also, hang them to dry instead of throwing them in the dry. They will shrink a little bit. The package will tell you it's okay to dry, but don't do it unless the socks are actually a little bit too big for you. "Dry low" just gets too hot in the average home machine, and these socks are too precious. Hang them on your lingerie rack, over a hanger, on the towel rod, or just lay them out on top of the dryer. Don't complain about the price. Your feet are worth it. And, by the way, I'm still wearing the first pair of SmartWools I bought 15 years ago. Try that with a bargain pair.

I bought these low Smartwools to keep my toes warm. They are fabulous and very comfortable. I have many different kinds of Smartwools varying in weights and textures. They have all proven to be excellent. That's not all! I didn't expect the socks to come for several days, but Zappos sent them super quickly. This is a great product followed by great service!

Just great - I work 12-hour shifts on my feet in an industrial environment. I have been using SmartWool exclusively for years. They don't get soggy, sag or twist. I don't get blisters due to wrinkles. They don't lose their loft until they have been washed repeatedly. Then I replace them with new pairs. The models, like this one, with a bit of tailoring hold up best through a long shift. Having small, medium and large sizes for women really helps. I highly recommend them.

What great socks! Essential for hiking boots (I have Merrel Chameleon boots). Extremely comfortable, and the elastic around the arch is a great touch. I often wear them to sleep because I don\'t want to take them off.

Standup did not live up to my expectations - I have several pairs of Smartwool and really love them; I find that they really do keep my feet warm and dry on a regular basis. That said, when worn in 80+ degree weather, your feet are going to be warm even if they stay dry. I bought the Standup style hoping to prevent fatigue while walking on vacation, however, I didn't find any particular benefits to them beyond other Smartwool socks. I would go back to my Smartwool's with the medium cushioning, if I were looking to reduce impact from walking, etc. My choice would be Smartwool's Cozy style or any of the knee length styles if you are looking for warmth.

Say good-bye to blisters! These are the best all-around workout socks to grace your feet! Winter, summer or anytime, you'll be comfortable in these. I've punished this old body through every sport imaginable and I've learned to value good socks like a good mattress. No blisters, even when soaking wet. Oh, yes, they are perfect in hot weather, not intuitive, but true. All that "natural fiber" crap is more than just BS. If you're a serious athlete, or you just love punishing your feet, these socks will see you through.The wool/nylon mix is durable. Just the right amount of cushion in just the right places and plenty of elastic to prevent slippage.

OK, let me first start out by stating that I live in Florida and I am a PE teacher. I am out in the heat 7 hours a day. I have found these socks to be soft, comfortable and unnoticeable when wearing sneakers. My feet stay cooler than with my regular cotton socks and they remain dry while wearing them, too. These socks are more expensive than what I normally spend on socks, but I figure I wear socks every day, if I follow the laundry directions on the tag, they should last a long time. Remember, if you buy these, don't put them in the dryer!

I really enjoy wearing Smartwool socks. Normally I wear regular and sport socks but these shorties are really nice when wearing low sport shoes. They keep your feet dry and there is no odor.

Smartwool hiking socks are not too thick, and not too thin. They keep you warm even when wet because they're wool. They machine wash fine. I've never gotten blisters from them. Best to try on new boots with them if that's what you're planning to wear, because they can take up too much room if you haven't planned for them. The question of style is not applicable.

These socks are nice and thick and have padding in all the places you need it. You'll probably want a wider or 1/2 size larger shoe than you usually wear to accommodate their thickness. Although not too stylish to look at, these are probably the most comfortable socks I've ever worn.

Love the look!I love these socks but perhaps not quite so much for their intended purpose, which was to wear with running shoes. The term "micro" led me to believe that they would be super light-weight, but they are not. Other than that, they feel good and look terrific—at least the white and watermelon.

I've always loved Smartwool socks, but these are definitely not the quality of most. I've tried 3 pairs now and they lose the elastic at the back and slip down on my heel. Not impressed!

Great (if expensive) socks - These socks are expensive, but they are worth it. I'm wearing them now on a vacation where I'm walking about 5 to 10 miles a day, and even though the temperature has been approaching 90, they are still comfortable, cushioning my feet without being hot. Plus, if the other pairs I own are any indicator, they last a long time. Definitely worth the investment.

They slip down a bit in the back - Smartwool makes great socks, but I was a little disappointed in these. They slip down in the back while I am running and I think the only thing keeping them from slipping down completely is that little lip in the back. I'd buy different ones next time, especially for the price!

Best-looking and comfortable compression socks - I had two pair of these stockings from Travel Smith catalog, then they quit carrying them. The socks look more natural and perform better than any others I've found. They really STANDUP and STANDOUT. I wish I could buy them singly, as I don't wear brown, but please keep stockings these STOCKINGS!
