These shoes were more comfortable than my old worn in Sambas right when I put them on, no wear in period required. They almost have a hint of that athletic shoe 'forward roll' - walking in these somehow felt easier. The rubber heel label on the left shoe fell off after a few days, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it was just a fluke and not indicative of the shoe's durability.

This shoe is very cute...but it does run very small. I think it runs almost a full size too small. Last year I bought the GT Mary Jane from Simple and they are true to size. Usually when I read reviews and they say the shoes run small or big, I still just order my normal size 7, and they always fit. This time though, I was surprised when I put on this shoe for the first time, and they were way too small. I thought I could stretch them out, but they wouldn't stretch! The tip of the toe is coverd with rubber so they weren't goin' to give...I called Zappos and they allowed me to exchange the shoes for a half size bigger, and these size 7.5's just fit! Zappos got these shoes to me in less than 24 hrs! That was awesome...Thank you.

Comfy and eco friendly - I love the shoes; they are uber comfortable and very cute. They make even my large-ish size 9 feet look smaller! Normally though I wear an 8.5 and in this case I chose to spring for the size 9 and they fit perfectly, so if you're usually between two sizes, order the larger one.

Yeah, these shoes are pretty sweet. I like the simple design, they are not covered with do-dads and a rainbow of color. The black stitching on unbleached hemp looks like drawing on parchment paper. They are also comfortable, the hemp is a bit stiff at first until worn in. I have only had these shoes a month so I can’t comment on wear, but the hemp is pretty unprotected and has begun to take on stains. I am hard on them. The bonus here is that they can easily be hand washed. There is no tread on the bottom, but I have not fallen on my face... yet.

The flat I've been looking for - What was that? One day? Fastest shipping ever. But to the shoe. They look amazing, slip right on like I've already broken them in. Comfortable. I absolutely love them. I'm buying another pair right now.

Overall a decent shoe for walking around the city. The shoe's insole is very soft/spongy, so comfortable but maybe not as supportive as some might like. Took a couple weeks and a blister or two to break them in, but they're fine now. Not the out-of-the-box comfort like my last pair of Puma sneakers though.

Comfortable shoes, but lacking a little in support. I threw a pair of Dr Scholls gels in there and now they’re great. I have a pair of Dansko Professionals which are much more comfortable if you’re standing long hours, but the Simples are good overall comfortable shoes.

I bought these shoes for my mother, who has great difficulty finding any style of shoe that doesn't hurt her feet. She is overjoyed with these. She can stand for long hours in them and walk in them and her feet don't hurt at all (which is a first for her). She says they are extremely comfortable and well worth the price paid for them.

Very comfortable, nice look. Agree that you need a size bigger than normal; I'm usually a 12 but ordered 13 and they fit perfectly.

Love these shoes! They are as cute as Converse but way more comfortable. I am on my feet all day for my job and it's hard to find shoes that don't kill my feet and are cute as well. I now have 2 pairs of these in different colors and they are great. They are also comfortable without socks too.

The shoes are great for spring/summer. Buyer beware, they run at least a half size small. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe, and I ordered 9s for these. I had to send them back and get 9.5s because I couldn't get my wide feet into them. But other than that I am happy with them.

Toepaz-cute and comfy - These are really cute; I get a lot of compliments. More comfortable than I expected, I like the nubby insoles. I had to go up a half size from my usual; when I first tried on my regular size these were way too short where you toes go in at the front. For some reason my cat loves these shoes too, I can't leave these on the floor or she rolls all over them and chews on them.

Cute, but not for walking long distances - These are very cute shoes. I love the lavender laces to liven up the neutral hemp. Unfortunately, these aren't the most comfortable shoes. I had the same impression many other reviewers did when I first put them on--the footbeds are really soft and squooshy. This was really appealing. The rest of the shoes were comfortable, and it didn't feel like they would need break-in time. But then I wore them outside on pavement for a few hours. Yikes. Turns out under that comfy, slipper-like footbed there is NO support. My feet were aching after walking around town. I'm keeping them, because they are very cute, versatile shoes. I can wear them to work where I'm not on my feet all day, but these aren't the all-day walking around town shoes I hoped they'd be.

Great shoes, comfortable and cute. The only problem is that they size large - I normally wear size 10, but in these shoes could probably have gone for a 9. That said, they're still very comfortable, and hey, this is Calgary - I can wear huge thick winter socks with these, no problem!

Love these shoes! Bought them for a recent trip to NYC and they were perfect on days when it was rainy or damp. Looked nice enough to sightsee and go into some stores without looking like a total tourist. Great support and light. Actually broke them in while on this trip and was amazed that I didn't develop a blister! Recommend them for a casual travel shoe.

Quality shoe. Looks good. Love the fact that they're eco friendly. Fits smaller than other shoes, so I had to order a half size larger. My only complaint about them is that they slip in the heel a bit, even though the shoe fits lengthwise. However, this doesn't prevent me from wearing them because they're very comfortable otherwise (and the slipping is minor).

This is my second pair of the same shoe and I love it. They fit and look great! I wear them to work (I'm a teacher) and around town. They hold up well and feel better with age. For the price, I don't think you can beat them.

These are the cutest shoes! I love them! I have the red and white checked. Every time I wear them I get tons of compliments. They are very comfortable right out of the box and they are my favorite casual fun shoe. And of course they came the very next day after I ordered them. I love Zappos! And I love Simple Satire!! I will be ordering more colors.

There's a lot of hype surrounding these shoes, and they do not disappoint! How great to find a vegan/eco-friendly shoe that's so well designed and structurally sound! Love them! They're super comfy too. I had heard that these shoes run a bit small, so I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear and that worked like a charm. It seems like this shoe is being discontinued on most other sites I've checked, so I wouldn't hesitate to order them here while you can.

When I ordered these shoes I didn't know if they'd really be worth the price, it seemed kind of high for such a basic shoe. I'm glad I did get them though because they're extremely comfortable. They feel like slippers and have surprisingly good arch support. I don't think they're meant to be worn with socks so if you're planning on wearing them that way I'd order a half size up. I get compliments on these shoes all the time.
