I just thought that I had purchased shoes in the past that were comfortable right out of the box. These Saloman XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 are by far the best I've ever put of my feet. Absolutely no breaking in will be required. I finally found the shoe to replace my favorite North Face Ultra 105's.

Salomon makes great shoes in the original Ultra Pro 3D and GTX. This shoe is inferior to the original design with the Gore-Tex bootie. I am on my fifth pair now and will not buy the mesh shoes again. Also the first time I have encountered a problem with the kevlar lacing system. If the outer casing of the lace is nicked in any way your pair of shoes is done. Salomon needs to find a replacement lace unit for those who are as avid as they say their shoes are.

Great running shoe. Fits like a glove, lacing system is the best, snugs the shoe right up and tucks away. Nice and light, good sole for trails.

I love 'em, very comfortable, light and I like the style as well. If they wear out quickly, I'll run out and buy another pair. I have a wide foot but the EE fit perfectly. Only thing I found wrong is I needed to order the 1/2 size larger (as usual).

I have the first rev of this line, the XA Pro 3D Ultra. They have been great shoes for the last year and a half. They keep my feet dry, the lacing fit is perfect and is easily replaceable (REI sells a Salomon replacement lacing kit for $8 and there are how-to videos on You Tube). I got them for their great traction when riding my motorcycle. But they're great for day-to-day and they look great. Low maintenance and very lightweight.

First time review! These shoes are that awesome. My use for the shoes: I'm an avid backpacker, climber, trout bum, etc. These shoes are perfect for each of these uses, but they've quickly become my favorite everyday shoe. The support is phenomenal for a low shoe. The cushioning is perfect throughout the shoe. Not too much, not too little. You can always tailor that with orthotics, though. In terms of general fit, they seem to have a little bigger toe box which is really nice. Nothing you'd have to change the size for, but the room is there if you need it. The grip on the outsole is great. Not clunky like a lot of other trail running/hiking shoes. It's been perfect on wet road, gravel rocks, dirt, snow, mud, grasses. This was my first pair of Salomons and I was unsure about the lacing system. It actually works really well as far as getting a fit you like and keeping it there all day, while moving with your foot. The cord itself, however, is the only thing I'm concerned with in regards to durability. Everything else durability wise seems good so far. I've used them for projects where I'm walking 6+ miles a day on paved roads and they're still in very good shape. Get 'em -- they're expensive, but well worth it. I just wish they came in brown!

Great pair of shoes. I've had them for 3 weeks now and they are now my 'everyday pair of shoes. This is my 4th pair of Salomons, and they're the best yet. Salomon has improved their 'quick lace system and I'm not getting the 'hot spots' that I used to, so they're more comfortable. I can wear them all day around the office, the trails and the farm and I'm not worried about fatigue. Super aggressive traction, but I haven't had them in seriously wet conditions yet. Well played Mr. Salomon, well played.

They are just OK, not the same build quality as the XA Pro 3D from 2008. It seems they took what was an excellent shoe and downgraded the materials. I still have my old pair and they're really not comparable.

I thought I would try something other than Asics this time around, so I opted for these. So far I am not very happy with this particular brand of shoes. The shoes fit well at first, but after about a week, it is starting to fall apart. The heel area on the right shoe feels like it sunk in. The lining is coming off and bunching up. I do love the lacing system, though the overall quality of the shoe leaves much to be desired.

I bought these shoes for my son to take to camp. They held up extremely well in very challenging conditions, and he came home with healthy happy feet. I would definitely recommend them.

I loved the look of this shoe, but found the arch support was too aggressive -- the pressure became uncomfortable after wearing them for just a short time, so I had to return them. I have worn Merrell and Patagonia hiking/trail running shoes without having any similar problems.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.I have never spent more dollars on a pair of sneakers before. With the comfort and the style of the shoe, it was more than worth the price. When I am wearing the shoes the 1st place people look at is my feet. There is always concern buying shoes/clothes over the internet without being able to try them on. With the free shipping both ways, that took away that concern .
