I love this suitcase- it is gorgeous and really stands out. Very lightweight and easy to maneuver. I agree with some reviews that it appears a little flimsy, but that is the tradeoff for a featherweight bag. I checked the bag on an international flight and it held up well. It did get a little dirty, but that was expected- mostly wiped off. Note, it only has a top handle. I had no problem lifting it on and off trains and placing on overhead bins. Great for older or smaller people! I had enough space for one week of clothing, but I travel light. I also used clothing cubes which helped keep things organized. If you travel with a lot of stuff, buy a bigger bag.

This is a stylish, light, functional suitcase. It rolls very easily on smooth surfaces, not so much on rough surfaces, in which case you can still pull it behind you on two (instead of four) sets of wheels. Be aware of an issue with the lock system, it is quite easy to inadvertently change the lock combination if you slightly depress the lock lever and move the lock tumbler wheels at the same time. This happened to us after a long day's travel - leaving us with a locked suitcase and not knowing the new, inadvertent combination. We finally got it open after trying one combination after another.

Great! Lightweight, effortless, useful dividers, flexible shell. It's a keeper. 5 stars if it had outside pockets. Zappos rep was excellent! Ideal carry-on for international flights, U.S. regional jets or 2-3 day trips. Never checked it yet. Holds a lot. Lighter & more compact than U.S. version. Alitalia carry-on max=8.5kg/17LBS incl bag itself, so this bag packs 10 LBS of stuff. Weighed in Florence, Italy & had to remove items before boarding! Meets Alitalia's max. size exactly. Honestly some bins allow fatter bags but not 1" taller. Good luck getting on with a big bag.

OK, so I've been using a Lipault Plume 22" 4-wheel carryon for a while, and it is a great bag. I can't believe how much you can cram into that bag. However, I've been eyeing those carry-on baggage sizers, and reading that some airlines are getting stricter about that, and I'm afraid that my fully stuffed Lipault would never squeeze into one of those sizers. Having purchased a larger Rimowa as my checked bag, I decided to try the Salsa Deluxe as my carry-on. With a semi-hard shell, I doubt that I could stuff it so much it wouldn't fit in the sizer. You might think I could just use some restraint on packing the Lipault, but alas, if I can squeeze one more thing in the bag, I will. And one more ... and one more ... Don't you think I'll need another pair of shoes?... So on my most recent trip, I used the Salsa Deluxe. As I noted in my review of the larger Salsa Deluxe, using a "clamshell" type of bag takes some getting used to. The Lipault has one cavernous cavity that you pile everything into before you flip the top down and zip it up. (The Lipault also has a pocket on the front that I've used for my laptop, and I kind of miss that on the Salsa Deluxe - but not too much - now I put the laptop in my "personal" bag - or, ooh, I bet I could just unzip the top of the Deluxe and slip the laptop between the two compression layers). The Salsa Deluxe takes a little more strategic planning, as half of your stuff goes in one side, and half in the other. But the Salsa Deluxe has that great compression system, which really keeps hanging clothes from shifting around and wrinkling; I appreciate that, because I do like to bring clothes on hangers. In any event, both the Lipault & the Rimowa are great, but I gotta say the Rimowa has a much more sturdy handle; the Lipault handle will flex and twist (especially if you overstuff the bag), causing you to use more effort to keep it rolling smoothly; the Salsa Deluxe is rock solid. I haven't done a head-to-head comparison on how much I can stuff in each bag, but I do know that the Rimowa is easier to glide along, and is better at keeping the wrinkles away - it's my new go-to bag.

Great bag. I'm becoming a Rimowa convert - this is my 3rd Rimowa bag. I have a Salsa Air 29" and a Salsa deluxe cabin multiwheel. I'm still getting used to using a "clamshell" type of bag (2 equal halves instead of one big cavity to fill), and can see where this setup could be a problem if I were packing something bulky - like big boots or a large giftbox or whatever). But I do like to hang my clothes and put them in a thin suitbag (like the kind that came in my old suitcase) and pack them into the suitcase that way - then when I get where I'm going, I just move the clothes right into the closet and I'm done, while my husband is still unfolding things and putting them on hangers. These (salsa deluxe) bags are great for that kind of packing - the compression system keeps everything from shifting around; my clothes were the least wrinkled ever when packed in the Salsa deluxe. And these bags are so easy to roll along - I don't think I'll ever go back to 2-wheeled bags. I could easily move the 2 29" cases plus the cabin multiwheel (with a smaller bag on top of it) by myself while negotiating the baggage claim area and getting out to the taxi stand. Would not have been possible with 2-wheeled bags.

This is the first carry-on that I can easily lift into the overhead compartment. The suitcase holds more than you would think and the zippered covers on each side keep your clothes in place. I initially thought there wasn't much to the material the case is made of. Plastic? Then my grandson rode around on it (the four wheels let you move it with ease) and sent it flying down a set of stairs without a mark on it! Works for my life!

Very nice carryon. The lightness is amazing and helpful during those times when you have to pick it up over a curb or up stairs. I tried several popular brands before keeping this one. Big, balanced wheels roll smoothly despite a narrower base and single pole pull handle (Tumi Vapor Int'l did not feel well balanced and like it would tip forward and was not as maneuverable with its smaller wheels on a case pushed by a long pole - their larger cases don't feel like that). I didn't mind that there was only 1 pull handle since the case was small enough that I could grab it on both sides if needed - why not just plan ahead and place it facing out anyway. The lightness of the case was wonderful. This was replacing a very slightly oversized Samsonite that was perfect in all carryon-ways (and oversized definitely compared to the new specific depth dimensions for United). While this case says it is 9.5" deep which is half an inch too deep, it did not appear nor measure by hand as much over 9 inches. Stuffed it could come closer to 9.5+ but I was not worried about being stopped. One one of four flights, they tried to check all rollers but they let me try mine - it fit in sideways due to the small overhead bins. It fits a lot inside due to the single pole (the Torq didn't feel as roomy). I'm very happy with this size, model, color (purple), weight, function. It got a few marks on it that come off or do not detract from it. I'm concerned about the larger cases in the line being damaged during checked handling due to the thinness of the plastic - but the positive experience with this carry-on is almost enough for me to give it a try with a larger Rimowa Salsa Air.

Perfect checked luggage size for a week long trip and they don't make suitcases any better than this. Maneuverability of Multiwheel is second to none. Protection is solid, do expect normal wear and tear (scratch marks adds character) but will last you a lifetime. Weight more than polycarbonate cases as expected but not an issue in this size because you can only stuff so much in a 26" luggage. Should remain below the 50 lbs. limit with normal clothing and toiletries.

Right size for more than 4 days of travel. I have the 21 inch as well as the 29 inch luggages. Prettier in person and it is super lightweight.

Love my suitcase! The handling is really great, and it moves very easily. Ideal for business trips or for weekend getaways. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit too much, so if you need to pack more than a couple pairs of pants, skirts, shoes, etc, you might have to go for the 26". Perfect if you don't pack much, though.

My husband gave me this as a gift. It met the carry-on rules for Lufthansa, which is very strict about size and weight. It's wonderfully light weight which makes it easier to put in the overhead bins. I'm a big believer in traveling with carry-on only and this makes it possible on more airlines. I love the violet color. The only down side is that with only one rod, a bag perched on top can slide more than with two rods for the handle. But I love mine because a lighter weight bag means I can either pack more or travel light as I choose.

I fly twice a week and so far this case has stood up to it. I purchased this to replace a Samsonite Polycarbonate case that I returned due to it cracking which I returned (not a Zappos purchase) at a cost of this much. The replacement also cracked! Due to the case being white I do not have every other half wit pawing at it at the carousel as they do with black cases (I saw one recently remove six cases that he thought were his only to put them all back) The case can pack in quite a lot due to its basic clam shell design. There are two zippered sections with no seperate compartments so it's advisable to use packing cubes for smaller items. Being white it does show scuff marks which can be easily removed by using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pad. I like the fact that the lock is positioned at the top of the case for easy access.

I do a lot of travel every year. I might be in South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia several times in one year. I generally travel business class but have flown economy when in Africa and short flights in Asia. I can say Remowa is fantastic for carry on bags but Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) if you buy for check in. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND REMOWA FOR CHECK IN BAGGAGE. The wheels and locks are fragile, the slightest dent to your seam area in the aluninum models will cause ingress of water in a short time. The zippers are not heavy duty and these bags should never be overpacked. I would go TUMI for check in and stay away from all Remowa models for check in baggage. You buy a large Remowa for putting in the back of a automobile or train if you are trying to impress but you wont find serious travelers buying these cases for serious travel. Stick with Ballistic nylon. Your children will inherit them.

This is the best carry-on case ever! Great quality materials, light but very sturdy. The wheels rotate 360 so it's absolutely effortless to wheel it around any way you want.

This is our third Rimowa Salsa Deluxe case. I travel weekly and this is worth every penny, plus it has a five year warranty! Pros: lots of room, zipper tabs lock right the case, so no more broken tabs. Easy to roll with or without laptop bag on top. Cons: kind of big for US domestic travel. It has never been pushed to belly of the plane yet. Will NOT fit in the overhead pull down compartments (middle) on the 747.

Couldn't be happier with this purchase - well worth every penny. Looks so professional and high-quality, is lightweight, love the outside pockets esp for business travel & my iPad...going through security is a dream when I can easily grab my laptop from the side pocket (my laptop is 14 inches Toshiba Portege, and it easily fits in the outside pocket! It easily passes through as a carry-on - with no issues. My Tumi luggage was 10 years old and I am so glad I tried this brand instead. I knew the reviews couldn't be wrong!

I recently took my first trip with the Rimowa Salsa Air, and I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing it was in travel! The hard shell (with a little flex to it!) helps keep your clothes in order and just makes the packing process feel neater (as in less messy). The suitcase stacks well with other luggage as well, both in packing and in storage. My favorite feature is the TSA lock with code. It is SO nice to be able to secure my belongings without worrying about TSA breaking the lock or the luggage itself! (And let's be honest, the popping sound the zipper makes when it's released from the lock is just cool!)

I bought one for my wife's birthday nearly two years ago, and we've been on no less than 15 flights with it. It's held up admirably, except for one of the plastic zipper tabs that snapped last year. We took it to an authorized Rimowa repair shop in Vancouver, Canada, where they looked up the serial number to see if it was covered under warranty (it was) and had it fixed in literally 5 minutes. The suitcase is super light, and easy to pack since each half has it's own zippered mesh cover ensuring things stay in place. It does feel flimsy and flexes quite a bit, but has not had any issues aside from the broken zipper tab. They probably should have made the zipper tabs out of metal, but in an effort to make the Air as light as possible, I guess every gram counts. The white Salsa Air looks clean and slick, but does get scuffed up with black marks from all the conveyor belts it goes on. After our first few travels, I cleaned it up with some Goo Gone, and it cleaned up quite nicely. But we've kind of "let it go," and it looks just fine with all the black scuff marks, which add character and makes the bag look well-traveled. If you care about keeping the case pristine, you can order aftermarket plastic fitted sleeves off of eBay or Amazon, but we don't bother.

I just bought 3 sizes of the type Salsa Air a month ago and love them. So far I have used them only on 1 flight and they did not get dented or scratched. One mark I could easily remove. They are very light and wonderful to handle. The purple is attractive and you can identify your bags right away on the band. The only thing I miss, is that they do not have interior straps in addition to the flaps.

Great light weight, easy rolling suticase. Fits more than it looks. Only problem is the lock stuck and had to cut it off...read afterward online that it is common, but that Rimowa dealers repair for free.
