They look good. They fit is a little tight width-wise even after break-in. One thing I didn't see mentioned in the many reviews perused before ordering, the squeak factor. Even after wearing in they are pretty noisy on stairs and concrete floors. I guess it's time to move to the desert. Other than that, quite satisfied.

Old School - I have been a fan of the dessert boot since I was a teenager growing up in New York and I love the comfort and the timeless look. I don't ever want to be without a pair.

Very uncomfortable, do not plan on wearing these shoes for a long time. I am very tolerant when it comes to discomfort but this shoe truly is uncomfortable.

After wearing these back in the 60s when these were popular, I decided to try another pair. First pair are natural (tan) suede, and I wanted a pair of black ones to wear with black/grey pants. These fit true to size and the crepe soles are comfy. Not much arch support, tho. Big difference in the tan and black -- the suede on the tan is super-soft, and these are much stiffer. They squeaked a ton where the tongue rubs against the upper where the laces go through. Think I've fixed this by rubbing vaseline into the lining where the laces go through. If yours make a lot of noise, try that. I like that they're warm in the winter.

The black suede Desert Boot is my first pair of Clarks. The shoe feels solid with the fit and finish also being of high quality. The style is awesome and these things look phenomenal with a pair of jeans. They do take awhile to break in and can be torture on your feet until then. Like mentioned in numerous other reviews, play it safe and order at least a half size down. I had to drop one full size, but thanks to Zappos fantastic service I received the new pair a day later. Can't go wrong with these boots.

These shoes are great. I've worn them every day since I got them. If you’re not used to Clarks be aware that they might hurt your feet the first few times you wear them, but once they are worn in they are the most comfortable shoes ever. Also, be sure to get an entire size smaller than you usually would. They run big.

These boots are the coolest things ever, but what I love most about Zappos is the Customer Service Staff. 1st class all the way.

I bought Desert Boot for my husband, who really likes his feet to be warm in winter. So I don't always like his winter boots, but this is the pair we found compromise. It is very comfortable (as he says) and warm and also appropriate for the office. So we both are happy with them.

Quality seems in line with cost. Nicely finished. Very comfortable to wear.

I'm 21 and have been wearing Clarks from the age of 14. I wear Desert Treks, Wallabees, Weavers, and I absolutely love these boots. Kudos to Zappos for lightning fast shipping and excellent customer service. I only wish more colors were offered, because I can only get the moss green ones when i go home to Trinidad....In other news...The suede is very high end, style and comfort levels are on MAXIMUM!! Please purchase - you will never regret it..... P.S.: Love Clarks or jump off a bridge! lol. That is all.

Just got my Dessert Clarks Boot from Zappos and it smells bad! Love it and if you wear size 9 buy 8.5.

I love these black Clarks Desert Boots. The style and the suede of the boot looks very fashionable and very quality. I wear them every chance I get. I decided to get mens since they weren't available in my size for womens until November/December. I just couldn't wait. These shoes are very comfortable. They make no sound when you walk because the crepe sole is very quiet and you really can tell that they absorb impact. For me (size 11 in women's, wide) the size 9 was slightly narrow, but the shoes stretch out quite quickly. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone.

Great boots, comfortable, and I've received compliments every time I've worn these. Zappos service is the best I've experienced in online shopping. I ordered these on Labor Day and the next day these were on my doorstep (on my birthday)!

This is my second pair of Desert Boots and I love them. They are extremely comfortable and versatile. It takes a few days to break them in, but after that they are perfect. You can tell they are excellent quality and they hold up, although they look better a little worn.

My mother bought me my first Clarks Desert boots when I was a teenager living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I do not remember how I felt about them, but I wore them until they fell apart many years later! I just bought a pair of black Clarks Desert boots from Zappos and after wearing them for a couple of weeks straight I all of a sudden what they remind me of. After being happily married for forty years my relationship with my wife feels "like a comfortable pair of slippers." That's how my Clark Desert boots feel to with the added advantage that they feel so comfortable right out of the package!

Again, a great shoe! I own several pairs of Clarks, and I must say that it is my favorite brand. These shoes are comfortable and cute; definitely living up to Clarks' reputation.

'60s euro cool. I love these boots. They're pretty comfortable, but not exceptionally so (The arch support is virtually nonexistent. I'm getting archy insoles...). The main thing is they are understated and look very cool. They're also very simple and seem quite durable. Good for sauntering around town in your snazziest '60s tight-fitting suit. Other reviewers have remarked on how quiet they are. And yes, you could sneak up on just about anybody if you're so inclined. Quietest shoe on the planet.

Nice!!!!!! Ok, by now everyone knows how good Zappos is, but I just ordered these last night; I woke up and saw a email that they have shipped, went to the gym and they are on my porch when I came home. Unbelievable service. Now for the shoe. Size was correct, looks are incredible. I tried them on with everything I have and I think I could have found the one shoe that works with everything. I did put a heel insole in for extra cushioning though, and might even get a premium insole so I can wear these a lot more.

The picture does not do justice to this shoe. I bought it in bronze and was worried it was going to be splotchy-looking as it appears in the photo. It is not! It is a beautiful unique, dark golden color with a great subtle shine; far from splotchy and dull! Very comfy and well-constructed as with all Born shoes. I expect it to last for years; well worth the money.

Clarks are the best looking boots. Clarks is the originator of the desert boot and they are under a $100, plus they are so comfortable I can't believe it. There is little arch support but for some reason they don't feel that way. I have a herniated disc and I find these to be the shoes/boots I reach for every day.
