Gorgeous Boot, but not a good fit for athletic calves. The finishing and workmanship are superb, the boot is beautiful. Alas, my calves are athletic/muscular and the boot just fit and meaning no room for breeches (or jeans or even leggings, unfortunately). I will return for traditional Hunter, but I am bummed!

These are beautiful! Note the green is with a chocolate not black - I am thinking about getting the black/berry because they are so fab! I am short and they still aren't too high; very comfy with smartwool socks and my arch support insert. I put they are wider but generally Hunter fits wider so they fit true to size for these type of boots. Waterproof, stylish and wonderful - well worth the money!

Received my Hunter Regent Carlyles in olive really quick, big thanks to Zappos on their free shipping procedures. :) Love it. Now for the boots, I really liked the style of it, and looks exactly how it is in the pictures. They look really classy, and gives you a really sophisticated look, pairs extremely well with black leggings, because it lengthens your legs! I am 5'4 curvy, and 135 lbs., my calves circumference is 15 inches, and I was really worried that these would not fit around my calves (b/c it states its circumference is 14 1/2 inches), but was going to return them if they did not fit, but thankfully, they fit great, just about hugs my shins snugly, but not too tight. What more do I have to say? If you are going for the classy, sophisticated, equestrian style look, this is the boot to buy! Warmth wise is not too bad, wore normal socks with these boots when it snowed. I am also normally and size 6, but ordered a 7 b/c they were out of 6's, maybe that is why the circumference fitted right. Either way, give these boots a try. :D

About Hunter
If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.
Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.
The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they’ve been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.
Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

I love these boots and I have been wearing them so much that my husband has been teasing me about it. I only wish the shaft is not as long, or there is a hidden heel for us shorties. I am 5' tall although the top of the boot does not touch my knees, but if I stand in them on my tip toes they look so much better even if I am not wearing super tight jeans with them. So I am thinking of getting a hidden heel in there when I have the time. However, they still look super nice now with my tights.

Beautiful as it is comfortable. I wear it with a pair of smart wool socks to keep me warm in the snow as well! I bought a size 6 but I usually wear a size 7 in other types of shoes but Hunters and Uggs, I go down a size. Fits really well.
Brands I'd also recommend: Burberry, Giuseppe Zanotti, Pour La Victoire, Dolce Vita

I love these rainboots!! I have the original Hunter boots and I can't wear them without the fleece socks because they're a little too tall for my legs and make sitting uncomfortable. The Regent Carlyle, however, is perfect!! It may be because the top is asymmetrical, and I love that. I got the size 6, which I normally am, and they fit great, although they are definitely slimmer everywhere/more feminine compared to the original Hunter boots. I can't wear regular jeans, only jeggings will fit into it nicely. I think that I have slightly thicker calves (at least when I try on some leather boots), but these don't squeeze them...I can still fit just fine. It does take me a while to take the boots off though, they suction my legs in, if you know what I mean? I also found that I need to wear thicker or fuzzy socks with these because they aren't warm enough themselves, although they for sure keep water out. And the berry color is just gorgeous, too!!
