- Your heel should lift up and down with every step, so if you are a half-size you may be more comfortable sizing up (for example if you are a US size 10, you may be more comfortable in an EU size 44).

My last pair of oiled professionals lasted nearly 5 years. I was a little concerned reading here about how Dansko quality was slipping, but I ordered a replacement pair anyway. They arrived the next day and looked and fit just like my old pair. But, within a couple weeks they started SQUEAKING to the point where I was too embarrassed to wear them. Zappos was very generous and sent me a replacement pair, but despite the new pair being the same size, they were too big! I was afraid I'd break my ankle wearing them, so I sent them back. Now I'm stuck with the squeaky pair collecting dust in the closet. I'm sure if I call Zappos they'd take them back. I'm so disappointed in Dansko.

Still a great shoe. I wore my last pair for 8 years I think! I like the non-patent leather cause you can wear them in quickly. No problems - most comfortable shoe - even for my bunion!

Great so far for my flat feet!
I've been wearing these shoes to work every day since I got them; I'm a research scientist and have a combination of on-my-feet and sitting during the day. My feet are pretty much completely flat, and I have had a terrible time finding shoes that don't aggravate my plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. So far these have been the best all-day-wearing shoes I've found -- my feet are still tired at the end of the day, but I'm not in excruciating pain like I used to be. When I first got them, they felt a bit tight across the instep, as well as giving the tops of my pinky-toes a rub (no blisters), but they have broken in very well. The slight heel seems to help, too, along with the excellent arch support. I like that they make me a bit taller, too!

Consistently Good!
It does take a long time to wear out Danskos. My favorite black professionals started to really show the wear and tear so I went with the oiled version. This pair was easier to break in and I immediately could wear them around town. I'm a 5 1/2 so I'm happy that the fit was pretty much perfect.
These are great for the weekends but I just don't feel professional enough wearing them to work. That's my issue.

Most Comfortable Shoes in the World -
These are the only shoes I'll wear to work. And the only shoes I'll wear on the weekends. They do take a few weeks to break in, so I alternate wearing the new pair with an older pair for a while until the new pair molds to my feet. Once that happens these shoes NEVER hurt my feet. Even better, my legs and back don't ache after spending all day on my feet. There's a reason nurses, waitresses and teachers wear these.
I wish they were cuter, but what can ya do?

These are fabulous shoes -
I LOVE these shoes. They feel heavenly and look fabulous for any situation, are extremely versatile - for work, dressy evening, with pants or dresses, even hikes and city walks. They are the shoes to pick if you can take only one pair and need to be prepared for the ballet or a walk through woods or fields.

Feet growing or Danskos are shrinking.
Dansko wearer for 15 years and always a 43. I think they may have changed the mold, because these feel a half size tighter than any of my previous. Odd enough that I sent them back once to try a different pair of 43s thinking it was just a fluke. Nope. Still, no better company to buy shoes from and no better shoe to wear when you are on your feet all day.

Great, but not for high arches -
I have a very high arch which causes the top of my foot to be very high as well... and, unfortunately the band across the top causes pain and bruising. I want to love these because they're comfy everywhere else, but must return them.

Friend had them...tried many...
So, I needed a work shoe. I have a really difficult time finding my size in stores. I'm a size 11...a regular eleven, not wide, not narrow...just an eleven. NO ONE ever carries the style I want AND color in elevens. Finally, gave in and ordered off Zappos...they came literally a day and a half later and they were PERFECT. Size 11=43, which I've found to be true of all my European shoes...charts always say 41 but I always have to get a 43...my feet are slightly flat...the arch support is great. Overall, VERY happy...will definitely buy another pair later on.

C an't wear anything else!
I've been wearing Dansko's for many years. I've tried several times to go with something "cheaper" but my feet and legs have always paid the price. They are more expensive than other shoes I've tried but they last a long time so when you average it out they are a great deal. I've learned my lesson - as long as I'm going to be working 8 hour shifts on my feet I'll be wearing Dansko's.

Classic Comfort -
This is my third pair in 12 yrs. They last a very long time, and are still comfortable after ten hours on your feet. This pair did seem to be cut a bit narrower than my last pair, but are still comfortable. I put a very thin sole cushion in them, to make them even more comfortable.

Order more than one pair -
I'm a teacher and I'm on my feet most of the day. I also have bunions and find most shoes to be uncomfortable. I had to order several pair to get the right fit but it was worth it. They are handmade and I found that some were tighter than others. I typically wear a woman's size 10 but decided on the size 42. My toes barely touched the end of the 41s but they might have been comfortable as well. The top of the shoe has a snug fit but it isn't uncomfortable at all. I've not had any "break-in" discomfort and have worn mine almost daily for the past month. The first two pairs I ordered took nearly a week to get to me, but all the others arrived in just one day! The return process was very easy and quick. I'll be ordering another pair in black soon.

Shoes are wonderful. At most, I wear them 13 hours at a time, and my feet feel much better at the end of the day than with other shoes. Sizes are a little hard to figure out. FYI, I wear a 10.5 in women’s athletic shoes (Asics, Nike, NB, etc.) and the size 41 were a little short. Size 42 fits very well. I am definitely going to buy another pair.
