I ordered these sandals because they had a bit of the trendy gladiator thing going on without screaming 'Hey! I think I'm really cool!' Unfortunately, they looked terrible on me. My foot is narrow and I don't have long toes, so it was a bad combination. If you have an average or wider foot and toes that look great in a 2" V-shaped open toe, buy these shoes! The suede is smooth as silk and the brown is a deep cinnamon shade, which shows off the shoe better than the black.

I love the style and look of this bootie. The leather is top shelf, soft as butter! I'm so glad that I purchased them! I'm wearing them right now while I'm typing this review and they fit and feel like they were tailor made just for me! Now with that said, I have to mention the impeccable service at Zappos, it is second too none! I'll be a customer for life!

they are great. except the rubber part on the bottom is tearing off after only 3 wearings and that has me kind of worried. The boots won\'t stay above your knees but will fall to right below them. they can be worn with skirts and jeans and look great. they are very comfortable.

I have the boot and love it! Probably most comfortable boot I\'ve ever worn. I feel like they run about a 1/2 size big, so keep that in mind when ordering.\r\nI think they look like a $1000 pair of boots, and have actually gotten more compliments on these than I have my $1000+ Prada boots.\r\nUnlike the other poster, I have not had a problem at all with the zipper. The boots are also very easy to get into, even with my jeans tucked into my socks, adding bulk. I have in brown, didn\'t like the black as well.\r\n

The good news: this is a great boot for ladies with muscular or wider calves. I can't zip a lot of boots, and these went on with absolutely no problem. The leather seems to be of fairly good quality, and the design is interesting. But here's the problem: See the top of the zipper? It doesn't go all the way to the top of the boot! It leaves a little gap at the top. And that strap buckles over the top of the zipper. So what it looks like, especially if you don't have particularly slender legs, is that your legs are so wide that you've busted the top of the zipper and you're just barely keeping it all together under that strap. Well, I'm being a little dramatic. But in seriousness, this isn't a polished or attractive look for an otherwise nice boot at a price point I very much desire. I am tired of having to buy cheap, saggy leather boots simply because I have wider calves. I want fashion-forward, expensive knee-high boots. Sadly, these aren't it, due to the design flaw at the top. You were warned, hot chicks with larger legs! Go fish.

Ladies with muscular calves, please don’t get too excited by the circumference listed; it’s off. Usually I can zip a boot of this listed width. On this one - no dice, not by a long shot. And with all that lace action, no way is it gonna stretch, not even a little. I was disappointed, as it’s a cute boot, very reminiscent of a certain designer model from a couple seasons back. And I was surprised, because another wider-calf boot by the same brand fits me fine. Disappointment!

This is a nice boot with a very comfortable foot bed. The grommets for adjusting are not as workable or convenient as the usual v-pleat opening at the top in the back but they are a nice accent. However, comfortable though these boots are, the deal-breaker here is the zipper. Instead of using a nylon coated, easy sliding zipper, they skimped. The zipper is metal, clunky, and it tends to stick -- and it shouldn\'t. By trying to save an extra dollar, the manufacturer ends up with an unnecessary and unfortunate manufacturing/design/quality boo-boo on a $500 price tag.

I just received these fabulous Pour La Victoire boots! They rock! This is my second pair of Pour La Victoire boots. I bought a pair of black knee high ones last year and always get compliments, from both men and women, whenever I wear them. Beautifully made, great quality leather. Great fit. Pricey, but well worth the money. I can't wait to wear these new, over the knee boots. (If the weather ever stops being in the 80s here in La La Land.)

Love these boots. Those laces are just great; can't get enough of 'em (more is definitely more). I ordered a 7.5 and they fit true, leaving room for a sock, which is recommended with boots, and they are still not cramped at all and have nice arch support. The boot-muse this takes its inspiration from was about $1,800, so it's exciting to find these at much less the cost but just as much style and understated panache, soft leather, comfort, etc., and I'm so happy to have them. (Thank you PLV for making it possible!) They are comfy and cozy and the color is more "chocolaty" & richer looking than the photo, with the middle lace being adjustable. Love 'em! An outstanding favorite.

OMG, too sexy for words! These platform booties are amazing! Definitely run a half size small, but I knew from experience to order up a half size with this brand. They fit like a dream! Wore them last night with a pair of cropped destroyed skinny jeans to dinner and a movie with my husband. Received 7 (SEVEN!) compliments from complete strangers on my new booties, not to mention the attention I got from my husband. He appreciates sexy shoes on a girl, but these especially stuck his eye. Obviously, these don\'t feel like I\'m wearing sneakers, but they are a million times more comfortable than I would expect them to be. The heel is exactly 4.75" with a 1.75" platform (my husband measured), so they feel like wearing 3" heels. Very doable! They don\'t squish my toes and they\'re very walkable. We walked several blocks last night with no issues after having worn them out all evening. I\'m in love with these cuties. I have them in black. They gray pair would be cute, but for the price need them to be versatile.

Most comfy platform bootie I've owned! This is my first pair of Pour La Victoire's and I am so thrilled with the quality, style and comfort of these gorgeous boots. I purchased a similar pair by Prada which were twice as expensive and not nearly as comfortable as these, but the quality is very similar. They do run small though; I ordered a 7.5, but had to return them and order a size 8. Money well spent; if they came in brown I would get those, too! Thanks Zappos for the lightning fast shipping and for carrying this fabulous brand!

I ordered these shoes in my regular size of 8, but they were at least one full size too big. To be safe, I reordered a 7.5, but they were also too big. Unfortunately, all of the size 7\'s are sold out! So, I\'m not going to enjoy the fabulousness that is these shoes.\r\n\r\nThe heel is triangular and very sturdy, yet still sexy. The toe is pointy, but not so much that it cramps the toes. It does seem to have a fairly large volume, so if your feet are very thin, you may have a hard time cinching down the laces enough to get them tight. There are beautiful stitch details on the sides and the patent leather is rich, not plastic looking. Overall, this is a gorgeous shoe on the foot, and I\'m so bummed I\'m not going to get to own it!

These are sexy heels! I bought them in black with the silver grommits. I'm in love. They spice up an outfit with rock glamour. I got my usual size and they fit like a dream.

The sandals look fantastic! I bought the Steel Blue Boa color. They are so stylish and different with the chic zipper design. They fit true to size and width is adjustable because of the buckles. I have sensitive feet issues and they are very comfortable. We all have shoes that make us happy as soon as we put them on, and let\'s just say that I have a huge smile on my face when I wear them!

Jury is slightly out on these shoes. They are pretty comfy. They are fairly cute from the front/top. But they are DEAD SEXY from the side and back. I feel like a Solid Gold dancer (a reference that may be too old for some of you). Looks pretty darn good with everything I've tried them on with.

Great, great shoes! This perfect shade of pewter goes with everything! I originally bought these shoes because I injured my big toe and needed thong type of sandals, but still needed dressy shoes for a special dinner. They look great with dresses as well as pants. Very comfortable.

Very pretty shoe, was so excited to receive them today; however, I was very disappointed in the fit. The zip-up to the ankle was extremely tight, and the rest of the shoe was loose. In theory the shoe might "fit" better if I had ordered 1/2 DOWN... but the zipper definitely wouldn’t zip up if I did. Not very stable either. Too bad, I really thought I was going to like these!

Deceiving - This style is extremely narrow, especially on the ankle. Since the top of the gladiator comes up so high, it really restricts your natural walking movement. I don't even think that ordering a half size or whole size larger would help in this situation. Good luck.

These shoes are hot! I have them in black, and I love this brand now. I also have the cutout stilettos they make. For a stiletto, they are relatively comfortable, totally acceptable for comfort. They are really flattering. They are a little stiff but seem to be getting more pliable. The ring on the outside of the ankle digs a little but nothing deal-breaking and again, I think it's getting better. These look great with skinny pants, boot cut, dresses, everything. They have a boot-like thing as far as how they look, but are more of a shoe/pump in construction. Definitely worth it, I get tons of compliments.

Beautiful Shoe - Loved these shoes but unfortunately had to return them for size. They fit true to size, so if you are in between sizes definitely go for the larger size. Too bad they didn't have my larger size in stock. Side note: The strap has buttons and is snug so they won't fit wide feet.
