This is a unique project in which the Maasai women embroider the leather shoes and bags with their own traditional designs. Furthermore, the type of work that they are doing actually lets them preserve their culture and lifestyle (the Massai tribe is in danger of extinction according to the United Nations). It has already helped to improve the quality of life of the whole community; they get paid fair wages, it contributes to the community and a school has been built for more than 400 children right in the heart of the African savanna.
All the profits made from selling these shoes go towards development projects in the Maasai Mara.

When I put my Pikolinos Gasgow boots on for the first time I immediately knew I had a good shoe. It is supportive, light weight and feels good instantly. Nice soft leather. I'm happy.

I have been looking for a comfortable shoe that has a bit of class to it. I find Ecco's too hot to wear, Rockports too cheap looking, etc so you see why it took me a while. These Pikolinos Glasgow were fitting the bill just right. Very comfortable, very light and decent construction it seems. They're no Frye regarding durability but are very comfortable. It's like wearing a fashionable sneaker. The cons are that a pricey for a pair of shoes is a fair bit (though made in China) and I do not perceive that value to really come back in the shoe. I feel I can take my Frye's to hell and back and I would value these more in higher price range. Second, and I would really like to stress this, the rubber outsole wears out extremely fast and I wonder if a cobbler can fix it.
