The famous posture foundation "wedge" was invented in the 1940s and at this date in time makes no orthotic sense. As a matter of fact I think the shoe is not only orthotically incorrect and bad for posture, but I found them horribly uncomfortable. Possibly they need breaking in, but honestly I haven't had to break-in a pair of athletic shoes in 30 years. I wore them a few days and could not wait to get them off my feet at the end of the day. My Converse All-Stars I can wear all day and at the end of a day fall asleep on the couch with them on. Converse All Stars have no arch support, it's like tying a flat piece of rubber to the bottom of your foot, but that's what I like about them, I like to walk and run barefoot (actually about 6 miles) and the Converse are great for that if you are a minimalist when it comes to arch support. Read "Born to Run" by Chris McDougall or google him to learn about the science of running barefoot and the idea of minimal arch support. I will say the PF Flyers are very attractive and got good comments about them every time I wore them (about three days and then I had to put them in storage, i.e. the garbage can).

Better than Converse! I have been in favor of the Converse look for a while, but hate the way the shoe fits and its lack of comfort. Took me a while to find replacements for my last pair (Hurley's), but these are it! These are so comfortable (come with removable foam insert) and make my 11W feet look normal in pants and shorts. And come on, it's way cooler to wear shoes no one else has.

Not good for walking long distances. While these shoes are very cool looking they are not terribly comfortable for walking long distances. I bought these for a recent trip to Europe, wanting something comfortable but stylish; however, they rubbed blisters on the sides of my foot (at the base of the big and pinky toes) and on my heels. They are also a little narrow. They are good for causal everyday wear as long as you don't walk long distances.

These shoes are great. They feel true to size and are comfortable casual shoes. They are exactly what I was looking for. They aren't a cushy sneaker though. If you're looking for something with a lot of support and cushion, this isn't the right shoe for you. I think of them like flip flops for winter.

I have looked everywhere for these PF Flyers. I had four compliments the very first time I wore them. I have problems with my heel, so Converse were out of the question, they are like walking on concrete slabs. I did have to order one size larger than the stated size for women, but Zappos service is so great, I don't mind having to send something back. I have never dealt with a company that is so customer oriented. What a pleasant shopping experience!

So long, Converse: I'll never be buying you again. And thank goodness for that because, admit it people, you know they're not that comfortable, plus they're owned by Nike (gross). These PF Flyers (now owned by New Balance) are amazingly padded for a canvas shoe. They look cool & seem wider than Converse too, which allows those of us without Jack Skellington feet some room in there. I'm a women's size between 9 and 9 1/2. I got 9 1/2 & they fit perfectly. These archival reissues are where it's at! Comfy and cool, what more do you want?

These seem like great shoes. I'm on my feet, walking, for 11 hours when I'm at work. I've bought multiple pairs of Chucks and the sides always blow out. So far these have lasted longer and they feel like a more substantial shoe. I hate that PF's and Chucks are both pretty expensive; they're just canvas shoes, but if you're going to spend the money, I'd go with these.

I love these shoes! They fit great! I even have wide feet and I still think they fit great as well as I still ordered the same size I always wear. They are really cute on. I would order them again.

If you are looking for shoes that are comfortable and unique, go with the PF Flyers. they are better than converse by far. Converse are more accessible and therefore common. PF Flyers are for the ones who know better. they have more thoughtful details and really are more comfortable. these are awesome shoes! Better still, Zappos not only gave me free shipping, but upgraded it and I got the shoes the very next day. Zappos is the only place I will shop for shoes, period. There is no sense even trying to go into a store as you cannot find a selection like this anywhere. Free shipping and the next day your order is at your door?! unheard of! but it is true!

I had these sneakers when I was a kid; I don't remember them being so hard to break in. I ordered a half size larger because of the reviews I read; It was not necessary. I think they are sized correctly, because I ordered another pair in my regular size and they fit better. But, again, they do take a while to break in.

I used to wear these shoes as a kid and had no idea they were still being made. So I was thrilled to find them and have received numerous compliments about them. That said, they are not the most comfortable shoes in the world, flat and somewhat board-like, just like Chuck Taylors. Sure, the styling can't be beat, but be prepared for the gumming around the the white banding to pucker and separate a bit, but not completely, from the canvas. I do still love them, though, but much more so for the sentimental value of wearing what I wore as a kid, and the awesome retro styling, than for the comfort. I found them true to size, though many here say to order a 1/2 size up.

Great sneakers with good support. Found them true to size, as I took advice and ordered 1/2 larger only to have to return them for my true size. Not for people with wide width feet. Love the look!

I had a gift card in the exact same amount as the price of this pair of shoes, so I took that as a sign that I needed to order them. PF Flyers are now my favorite shoes on the planet. I have super skinny feet and have always struggled to find shoes that fit well. My new PFs not only fit well, they fit perfectly. I love the low back too; easy to get on and off. Great comfy shoes! Much better than AllStars.

I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!\r\nThese kick those old Chuck Taylor\'s behind! (and comfortably, too- due to the "posture wedge" (TM)!") I can\'t believe I wore Chucks (in pain) for so long. What a dork I was. I thought that all of these "old school" type low tops were essentially the same. BOY WAS I WRONG. These are MUCH better than the others.\r\nI have slightly wide feet at the ball of the foot due to bunions, and these conform to my feet within one day of wearing them. They have more cushioning than Chucks, and I think that they are a little wider in the toe box. I wear between a women\'s 8 1/2 and a 9, and I get the 9\'s in these- they seem to fit great! I own several pairs, and I\'d own more if they\'d make more adventurous colors.... These absolutely ROCK! I\'d give them 10 stars if I could.

Having bought sneakers of this style from other brands, I would have to say these are the most comfortable I've had so far. The insole in these PF flyers is padded so its more forgiving than in other brands and more than I expected and rather. Even so, if you're like me and have gotten used to the airs, springs, bubbles and other comfort gimicks over the years, be realistic, the outer sole on these is a slab of rubber like the originals and you will feel more of the pavement underneath you. Style wise in this economy, you can't beat them. I've bought about 3 pairs (in various colors) for what you might pay for one pair of more expensive Nikes. They're great for the summer and you can put them through the mill without feeling guilty. Then throw them in the washing machine and youre ready to go. Not sure if there's a technical difference in production between the Genuine Reissue and the remakes, but the genuine reissues felt a bit tighter while the remakes fit perfect. Nothing a good pair of shoe trees/stretchers and some breaking in didn't fix though.

I tried these shoes because I cannot stand Converse. I wanted a casual, sneaker-type shoe that wasn't really an athletic shoe, but with lots of support. This shoe was perfect. Very supportive, comfortable, but still looks easy and laid back.
