I finally found a turtleneck that is not too tight and not too loose around the neck. This turtleneck is very warm and comfortable. The ribbed wool is very soft and does not lose its shape when worn. I also love that it is plenty long in the body and arms. I highly recommend this item.

Like all Smartwool could be worn as a base layer or on its own. This turtle neck is super soft and not the least bit itchy. I bought it in two colors since it's such a versatile top.

I've bought the purple/grey and the grey/black sweaters. They are great! They are versatile and I receive compliments each time I wear them: to the symphony with scarves and pearls, cross country skiing, with jeans, and date nights.
