I love this hat! Took it camping in Joshua Tree in hot weather and it was a dream. Very lightweight, lots of ventilation, good sized brim that held up pretty well in the wind, and it's cinchable at crown and has a neck strap too. Also the S/M fit well, I have a 21.5" head for reference. I just wish they would make it in more colors, like mauve, lilac, something fun! I'd buy it in lots of colors.

A hat is a simple purchase with a simple goal, be it functional or stylish. I bought this hat as part of my crusade against sunburn, my battle against heat exhaustion, my defense against climate change. My reason for purchasing was functional. The fact that it looks great on me is a stylish bonus. It delivers. When I wear it, I am cool. And I'm also cool. What's not to love?

Strengths: Material is high quality The brim holds it's shape well for a brimmer Vents well Fit for my head is good. Opportunities: The neck strap just doesn't feel as well thought out as the rest of the hat. The elastic is just tied to loops on the hat vs having a clip. It ends up rubbing/irritating the side of my face so I removed it. I own several brimmed hats like this and the strap on the North Face is my least favorite. It's a small detail, but worth noting.
