Have been admiring Old Gringo boots online for over a year and half. Not being able to see them first hand, I was nervous to spend so much on them and end up returning them. My daughter and I agonized over the Leopardito or the Stud Cross. I finally bit the bullet the other day and ordered the Stud Cross in brown (even though I loved the black too) as I felt that the bronze tone on the boots was subtle but very edgy and was hoping they would match a similar designer handbag I bought. I was told I would get 4 to 5 day shipping but Zappos was fab and upgraded me to overnight shipping. Got the boots in less than 24 hours which was typical great Zappos service, but none the less awesome. Like other reviewers remark, the pictures do NOT do these boots justice remotely. I was so pleased when I took them out of their very cool and funky box to find that they were richer in color, softer and more stunning that the pictures remotely portrayed. There was NO WAY these were going back and they were a rich cognac brown, were beautifully crafted, the leather was everything you'd expect and not too stiff and they matched my purse like they were manufactured together. As for fit, I usually wear a 7 - 7.5. I ordered the 7 because of reviews on the site saying to size down. At first, barefoot, they fit fine, but with a light weight sock I was not so sure. I decided since the heel pocket felt good and the leather was soft (but durable) I should keep the 7's. I wore them for 4 hours yesterday and 2 hours today and they gave just enough to be fine with the socks and great barefoot. I have rheumatoid arthritis and lots of foot pain/problems so a well built, comfortable shoe is a must for me. These are not only going to be years of enduring cool that is not too trendy or over the top, but they are really wearable from a comfort standpoint too. Definitely will NOT be my last pair of Old Gringo's and will probably be looking at the Leopardito's next. Great job Zappos and Old Gringo. Please continue to bring us more of these great boots! An urban cowgirl or trendy rocker's dream but not too over the top for a trendy mom either!

Snatched these up in 11B because that's a hard size to find anything decent. The fit was great toe wise but a bit narrow across the ball of my foot, Lucchese says I'm a C width. The purple color is a shade of cobalt blue not indigo, denim, blue so it didn't work well with my variously faded Levis. Sigh, back to Zappos they go.

Love these boots! I finally broke down and ordered these boots and absolutely love them! They are more money than I have ever paid for a pair of shoes and in general, I am not the cowboy boot type, but I love the leopard look of these boots. I can usually wear a size 7.5 or 8 in boots, but ordered the 7 because the reviews indicated they run big and that is correct. I have big calves so knee height boots don't always fit me. These are shorter and super cute and a perfect fit! I've worn them with pants and skirts and I always receive an abundance of compliments! My first time wearing them they were a bit tight on my baby toe, but they stretched in time and now they are very comfy! 5 stars for Zappos! You make shoe shopping so much fun and the returns are so easy if something doesn't work out! Thank you and keep up the super duper customer service!

These are gorgeous boots, absolutely as they look in the photo, cleverly slightly distressed with just enough of the animal print showing through to make them classic, not tacky, very soft leather, and 100% accurately sized. The only boots I have ever put on that felt immediately like I had been wearing them for years. As mentioned in several reviews, the toes do scuff easily. I took them to a bootery to have a metal toeplate attached with no luck due to their square toe shape, so I try to be a bit more careful. I wear them everywhere and I walk miles daily. I do love them. They are my current pride and joy shoe. As usual, Zappos shipping was immediate-received within two days of order.

This is the first time I have bought Old Gringos. They are really comfortable, even with the pointy toe box and I love these boots. They are very different from everybody else's boots and look great with jeans. Size runs true and they look better than the picture shows; worth the price. I love them and will definitely get more Old Gringos in the future.

The boots are great looking, but they were too small. I have another pair of Old Gringo boots in a different style and so I ordered the same size. These are much tighter than the other pair I own, and so I am having to order up a size. I can\'t really comment on the comfort of the boot since I couldn\'t get them on past the instep.

Love these boots!I contemplated for a month before ordering these and I am so happy with my purchase. I am a high heel kind of girl and it's difficult to find a nice pair of cowboy boots with some height. I totally agree with the one reviewer. These boots look much nicer than the photo online. I hope to see more styles out with a 3" heel.

I am so happy with this purchase! The boots are so hip! I have never bought anything this expensive to wear, but am totally loving them! I went ahead and ordered my regular size and they fit great. Customer service through Zappos is over the top. Ordered these last night at 9:30 and had them here this morning! Returns are easy and service people are very helpful! Hate to shop for shoes anywhere else!

Old Gringo Pisa are very cowboy cool. I've had a chance to wear my Old Gringo Pisa boots since receiving (my original review was based on fit, appearance, feel only) and they exceed expectations. I wore them right out of the box for 6-7 hours on a Saturday and then 5-6 hours on a Sunday. I experienced some very slight fit adjustment from being new and the curled toe, but was surprised how quickly they felt 'broke in' like you would experience with 6 months old boots. They look great with jeans and I had a couple comments from others on how much they liked them. Thanks again to Zappos.

Awesome boot thus far, very happy here. Perfect combo of western and rock-n-roll looks, with a little motorcycle edge thanks to the harness. Quality of the leather and detailing is beyond first-rate. Cannot say enough about the looks. Was not familiar with Old Gringo brand before these. I've worn Frye, Redwings, Mark Nason, etc., you name it. The initial quality on these not only compares but exceeds those others on almost all fronts, especially detailing and leather finish. Pretty comfortable wear from the start, but does take some minor breaking in and does lack the memo foam insoles like some other brands as tradeoff for the great true leather soles. Size/fit was a little shorter in toe and smaller than expected; definitely go 1/2 size up from your norm. Also, standard width is still pretty narrow so really wide and/or flat feet should go wider width or look elsewhere. All in all, a really tremendous boot especially at sale prices. Look is super hot and I got ton of notice and compliments from my guy friends on first wearing, including those wearing Frye. Very happy with this boot and my first order from Zappos. Not disappointed.

These boots are fab-u-lous. I have always wanted a pair of cowboy boots, but I have large calves so I never thought I would be able to find a pair to fit. The Leoparditos are great right out of the box and well worth the price. Unlike a lot of other handmade cowboy boots, the leather that these are made from feels soft and broken in right away. You'll still have to pull (hard) to get them on, but there's no stiffness like with other boots. And the more you wear them, the easier they are to get on and off. (Disclaimer: I didn't actually buy them from Zappos, I bought them while visiting a relative in Texas, but I have bought many items from Zappos over the years, since 2000!)

Since no one else has reviewed and I was agonizing over the choice, here it is! I have had my trusty Tony Lamas for 15 years and I finally need to replace them as the snakeskin has cracked. I loved these boots and bought them at the end of the summer my junior year of college after saving up for months. I went to visit them in the boutique where I worked in downtown Philly several times over the summer (so weird, right?) and at the time they were the most expensive shoe I had ever purchased and I have loved them for all these years. I mention all of this to say that I don't have a ton of money, but know that a good pair of cowboy boots are so worth it. I wanted to get new Tonys but didn't find anything I loved and also wanted something a little more fun/different. I had about a dozen pairs of Old Gringo and Luchhese (and one Dan Post) in my favorites for weeks trying to narrow down my choice. So many beautiful boots to choose from my friends! If I could, I would have bought about 6 pairs and I'm sure I would be equally happy with them all. So I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Dina Butterfly and thanks to Zappos they were on my doorstep in less than 24 hours. Here are some of the things I love about these boots: Heel height. I thought the Nevada might be a little high for everyday wear, but I wanted something more than the 1.5 heel height of many of the others I was considering. The heel height is perfect because it's tall enough to give a couple of inches and dress it up, yet low enough for if you want to be casual and in terms of comfort you can't tell the difference vs. a lower heel. Lots of stars for this. The other thing about the heel is that on the site I thought they were painted silver and was wondering if it might rub off. They are actually not silver, but more of a weathered wood look (black wood with ecru paint). However, as I'm sitting here I just scraped the paint and it does indeed come off, but I don't think it's really going to be a problem. I'll update my review if this changes in a few months. Crystals; they are actually a very light pink. Fabulous. Comfort, can't be beat. Leather, a nice, matte black. Arch support - excellent. Stitching - high quality, vibrant colors. The only thing I would change: shaft height. I am pretty short so wish it was taller (as Oprah pointed out last week, shorter legs should wear longer boots). By the way, I wear either a 5.5 or 6 and since this only starts in a 6 that's what I ordered and it fits great.

Fantastic boots! I love the look of these boots; the old distressed look of these comfortable boots would take many years to duplicate. Old Gringo is the brand you want to look for if you're into that "old west" thing. I highly recommend these to anyone and these are the fifth pair I have bought and I just keep coming back for more.

These boots looked so awesome online, and when I got them I was pretty disappointed. They have very little padding in the sole and REALLY pointy toes (think aladdin) Also the shaft of the boot is tiny, my leg fit in it but I like cowboy boots to be big enough to stuff pants into if I want. They also seemed shorter than other pairs I have. These ones are going back for sure. If you want some cute, really durable and COMFORTABLE boots, try Ariat. They are not as arsty as Old Gringo, but a much better deal.

I have several of the OG Razz boots, and love them for their unusual style, almond toe, and front gladiator profile. This shorter version in dark chocolate with embroidered flowers is really subtle and cute. Same OG quality, same OG comfort, and same OG style versatility (I wear all my OG boots with short Boho skirts or short slim skirts; they're so cute, why hide them under jeans?!). As to sizing, I'm a 6 in my dozens of Lucchese boots, but a solid 5.5 in OG. OG always has a wee bit more toe box room and width than Lucchese. And, with their authentic cowboy boot style, they have that normal slight slip at the heel as you walk.

These hot boots are better looking in person than I could've hoped to imagine. The leather is so crisp and soft; I almost don't want to wear them so I'll never scuff them up! However, they are very comfortable and I will not let them sit alone in the closet! The leopard print could not be more fashionable and having worn out many a stiletto heel I am happy to adorn these Old Gringos with pride!

Not only did they upgrade my shipping to next day they are absolutely freakin' cowboy cool! Now, I have not worn them even outside my house, but I did try them on with my favorite jeans and they feel and look awesome! Seriously, I am very happy and I am sure they will be the same great quality of all Old Gringo boots and of course I'm more than pleased with the customer service Zappos offers. I know I'll be buying another pair of Old Gringos soon! Thanks Zappos!

Love these shoes. The nicely squared toe, the awesome leopard print, and the nicely weathered look and texture are perfect. The only way to make it better would have been to have bought the full boot, but at their price, that wasn't a possibility. These are pricey, but they are made to last, true to size and worth it

OMGGG - - These are INCREDIBLE. I was very nervous about this purchase, I must admit and I ordered 2 boots; one in a 10 and one in an 11 - - I have extremely high arches and boots are a struggle to get on - - the 10\'s I had to return; but the 11\'s, I\'ve taken them off to go to bed, other than that I\'ve been livin\' in them. They are gorgeous boots. And I didn\'t realize they had crystals; I thought it was studs on butterflies, but they\'re these amberish crystals. Anyway, they have gotten ew\'s and ah\'s from countless admirers. And the best thing, after a few times on and off, they get really e-z to slip on and fit like they were made for me. Thank you Old Gringo! Thank you Zappos I\'m in love.

About Old Gringo

Since 2000, Old Gringo has been focused on a single goal: combining the best materials with the most highly skilled craftsmen. Beautiful designs and comfort are not accidents. It's all about bonding a time honored handcrafting art and a contemporary flair for fashion. Old Gringo strives to give their customers a product that embodies style and quality.

Founders Yan Ferry and Ernie Tarut decided to combine Yan’s bootmaking and design skill with Ernie’s years of experience in leather manufacturing to create boots of superior style and quality. Thus Old Gringo was born. The first Old Gringo factory opened in 2000 with a collection of original, vintage and retro styles. These styles bridged the gap between western style and pure fashion.

Every Old Gringo boot goes through one hundred-ten individual steps, performed by skilled craftsman. This is a very time-intensive process, but the consistent application of these skills is required to make a superior quality boot. Old Gringo produces and tans their own leathers in colors, textures and finishes to meet the meticulous demands of their designers. After carefully selecting the finest grade of leather, the leathers undergo a detailed tanning process. Each of the next steps, from cutting the upper materials to assembling the insoles and outsoles are critical in the construction of the perfect boot.
