Old Gringo Reviews
These are lovely boots but do not fit well. They are really tight around the ankle. I felt that the boot was true to size foot wise. I have never had this problem with this brand before so somewhat disappointing.
This is my second pair of Old Gringos. Love them! I "tried" to try these on in the store, but couldn't get my foot into them. Being it was a trendy boutique and not a boot store there weren’t any pulls in sight. But I really wanted them, so I decided with Zappos’ easy return policy I would give them a try in the comfort of my home and boot pull. It was so hard the first time, but I persevered. Wore them around the house for a few hours and fortunately they came off with ease. Put them on this AM with just one really strong pull. I have a feeling by tomorrow they will be fitting like butter. Well worth the initial pain and struggle! I usually go up a half size in boots, but OG is true to size.
These are beautiful boots, and very comfortable. But the toe is a little long for my taste. I have noticed that over the past few years, the quality of Old Gringo boots has fallen (sloppy stitching, peeling leather, zippers not correctly sewn in, etc.), so it is a good idea to carefully examine their boots. In this case, for this style, if you love it, the boots are worth the price. I usually wear a 9 in Old Gringo and the 9 in these fit perfectly.
I have so many boots-love them, but this one, without exception has been the one that I get the most compliments on-people are continuously stopping me-often 3-4 times a day! and asking me what they are and where did I get them. They are awesome-very comfortable. Seriously-people from horse shows to Neiman Marcus have stopped me regarding these boots!
After years of searching, I finally found these: the perfect cowboy boots. I bought them in Brass, and they're a little darker than in the picture. I generally wear a 7.5, and these run true to size . . . but if you're really in between sizes, I would move down. The arch support is right on the money (not sure why the other reviewer said there was none). There is no pinch in the pointed toe. The circumference at the ankle is roomy enough for comfortable movement (but it did take a few hours to break in the seam where the top of the foot meets the shaft). The circumference at the leg opening is for slender to average calves only. You can tuck skinny jeans or jeggings into them, but I plan to wear them mostly with skirts; cords would look terrible. The leather smelled so good I could've eaten it, and I think it's cool how the pull tabs look like musical notes. The embroidery is intricate and well detailed. The heel gives you a little height without any discomfort. One minus is that there is zero traction on the sole, so they're slippery at first. I was very intimidated by the idea of spending this much money, but it was totally worth it for something this cool and comfy that I'll have forever. Hope this review answers some questions for you.
These boots are beautiful. Aesthetics is what drew me to them. They are comfortable; however, the soles are leather and have no grip on them. If you wear them in the rain on pavement, be careful for they are slick. This is my first pair of Old Gringo's. I love their style (I have many pairs of cowboy boots). After wearing them several times I noticed loose threads around the pulls and on some of the embroidery which I don't think should happen as expensive as they are. Taking all of this into consideration I would recommend them. I plan on taking them to a cobbler to have some gripping put on the sole bottoms. In this case, visuals rule.
Oh my. Loved them from the moment they hugged my feet. You'll wear them with more than you ever thought; just get them into your closet and you'll see. These boots are a great "investment" piece, worth every dime if you have it so spare. They seem to be a tiny bit on the roomy side. If you're feeling in-between, order on the larger side to make sure your toes have room to wiggle. I wear a heel insert for added support and squishiness. They required no break-in time. I've had them for several months and they are wearing in nicely. Lots of notice and compliments.
Wow! What more can I say. I've received numerous compliments on these from men and women. They're very comfortable and look great. Wore them all day the first time on. I'll be getting another pair for my niece for Christmas. I did go 1/2 size down from my normal shoe size.
I loved these boots, they are very well made, and extremely comfortable, if I do not zip them all the way up. I am 5'9", 145 pounds, but I have 15½" calves and the boots give me a calf-muffin-top. That is not very pretty in a skirt. I normally wear a 9½ to 10 and the 9½ fits well, maybe even a little loose. I highly recommend these, if you have smaller calves than me. And yes, Zappos rocks!
Accurate fit, awesome look! Old Gringo so they're pricey; other than that, totally amazing. Looking forward to wearing them from now into the winter.
These were my first pair of old gringos. And it was love at first sight. Love them! Ultra comfy, I'm a classic size 9 and these fit perfect! Very easy to dress up or down... Highly recommend!
I bought this in brass and absolutely love it! I ordered a size 8 and fits true to size. The 13 inch height is perfect for my calves. The 1.5 inch heel is the perfect height for lots of walking. I will be ordering many more OLD GRINGO boots.
These are very comfortable boots and I love the flower detailing on them! I've dressed them up with dresses and, of course, they look great with jeans, too. My only complaint is that a small part on the top of the boot peeled off after just a few times wearing them. It's small and hard to see from afar, but happened on both boots. These are more than I've ever paid for boots, so I was hoping the quality would be better. Other than that, I love them and have received lots of compliments!
These are the most amazing boots ever! Like butter on the inside, and the outside rocks!
These are unbelievably comfortable! I wore them out of the box and normally I have a long breaking-in period with shoes and I did not have that at all with these boots. I normally wear an 8 but went down 1/2 a size based on other reviews and Zappos is wonderful about sending both sizes for your to try. The detail and workmanship on these boots is amazing and they are a work of art. I will have these for years and years to come. They are amazing! I am in love! The height of the boot is perfect...not too high to make them uncomfortable or seem dressy.
I am a big fan of Old Gringo, but these are by far my favorite pair. I bought the Snow furia colored boots, and they are gorgeous. They work with just about everything and fit perfectly. I wear them to work with skirts and with jeans on the weekends. They are unbelievably comfortable. They are pricey and I hesitated before buying them, but have no buyer's remorse anymore! Enjoy.
These are really beautiful boots! The leather and stitching are gorgeous and very expensive looking. Because there weren't any left in my usual size 9, I tried a 9.5. They are slightly big in the heel, but that can be fixed with an insert or something. I think they would have been too tight around the foot if I got a 9. The toe is long and pointy. I love that in a boot, but if it's not your thing, you won't like this. I think Old Gringo might become my new addiction!
