How I wish I had worn these around the house first before I wore them outside. Had I done that I would have returned them. These boots have some structural issues. The boots do not stay up even on my 16.5 inch calves. They sag and bunch up right above the buckle. The zipper digs into the inside of my ankle and it hurts. In addition, the soles are not comfortable. You would need to put gel inserts in. Again, I wish I could return these. I was so anxious for a replacement of my black knee high boots that I wore them outside too quickly. After three wearings I am contemplating donating them.
