I first bought the black/hash version of this shoe. I was amazed. I have a hard time finding shoes that don’t rub my little toes, which are way down the side of my foot where shoe designers never thought they might be. The funny duckbill shape of the Matai seems to accommodate every toe in comfort. Plus, the slanted strap doesn’t rub on my [high] instep. Plus, they are almost ridiculously comfortable: padded yet strong and supportive. So now I am hooked, a Naot junkie. I bought the lime green, and would buy more if they were in colors that worked for me. I did try the larger size, as directed, but the 39, my normal size, worked better. Happy feet!

I love these shoes. I have arthritis in my feet and found walking, even a moderate distance, painful until I discovered NAOT Matai. They are more comfortable than going barefoot. I walked five miles this weekend with no problems. The cork lining molds to your feet. They run slightly wide giving your toes plenty of room. These are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. They're now the only shoes I wear.

I love these shoes. They are eye-catching and sort of dressy, yet very comfortable. Can walk all day around NYC, and feel dressy at dinner. As to size, when I put them on, I thought the toe might be tight, but when I stood up and walked...perfect. No sore spots anywhere since.

This is my second pair of Naot Matai. They are extremely comfortable and cute. Literally, people have stopped me to ask where I got my shoes. Also Zappos delivery was super fast.

These are the most comfy shoes ever, I have 3 pair. The support is subtle, but surprisingly good. I took the insole out of one pair to improve a pair or Merril clogs. Wish you could just buy this Naot insole. I have orange, silver, and metallic plum, Wish they would do more exciting bright colors, the metallic is the best. These are nice barefoot or with socks because the natural suede insole breathes. Not a minute of breaking in is needed. The only negative is the loop part of the velcro gets fuzzed out so the hook part can’t grab well and it comes undone. I will sew a new velcro loop on eventually.

So close! I bought these shoes in black. The fit is good, the width is good, the look is great. However, I have bunions. This shoe is constructed so that the leather lining of the side of the shoe, comes together with the padding at the top of the toe of the shoe right at the point of my bunion. That seam rubs the bunion. I was so disappointed because they were as close as I have come to a good shoe that is comfortable and versatile. I'm going to try another style in the Naot line.

I'm always on the lookout for black shoes that will be comfortable when I stand for an hour, singing with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. My search is over! These Naot shoes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet. There was no break-in period at all. I can stand for an hour and feel no fatigue or pain in my feet afterwards. The woman who owns the Great Harvest Bakery franchise in Akron, and another singer in the chorus both have these shoes and have the same positive reaction. If you walk a lot with travel, or if you're on your feet all day, these are the shoes for you!

These are the best shoes I've ever owned. I just bought my 3rd pair. One exceptional feature is that the footbed is replaceable when the inside loses it's original cushioning ability. This happened due to almost continuous wear for more than a year of the first pair. The outside of the shoe is still like new! I love this style, this brand.

I am a pharmacist and don\'t sit down until my shift is over. These shoes are great because they look good and don\'t make my feet hurt after standing up all day. They do feel 1/2 size smaller than a standard size, though.

Excellent shoe, and pretty as well. I have purchased 3 of these now, in different colors. It is almost the only shoe I wear. Have also purchased 3 pairs for my mother; she loves them also!

Naot shoes are unsurpassed in comfort and support. Although a bit pricey, I wear them and wear them and wear them it seems like forever, at least two seasons and many times. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. With fibromyalgia, several foot surgeries and a unhappy back, Noats make it possible for me to be on my feet all day, from the moment they come out of the box. No breaking in. And this style in particular looks a little dressier than most and I cannot tell you how many compliments I have already gotten!

Not a bad shoe overall, but for the price, I do have some concerns. I have worn them to work as well as for travel. There is a nice cushion insert to the bottom of the shoe that creates a fairly good support to the foot. I have not tried my orthonics inside them, but the bottom of the shoe lifts out to allow for this, which is a nice feature. The main issue for the Matai is that for this price I would not expect the odd pressure points and soreness in my arch that I experience after wearing them all day. I have worn Naot's Kayla for years, and find it to be a "miracle shoe," and I was hoping the Matai could be my winter "miracle shoe." Not so, due to the soreness I mentioned above. I wear either a 10 or 11 depending on the shoe. After reading other reviews, I went smaller and ordered a 10 for this pair, and it was the right choice. If in doubt, go smaller with this particular shoe. I recommend ordering them overall, but be careful if you have very sensitive feet.

These are the best shoes. The cork insole can be sent back to the company if they wear down and they will send you new ones. They are so comfortable with a wide toe and great arch support. I have two of these in different colors and wear them all the time.

These are so comfortable. I have them in black and just ordered the brown. I can walk miles in them, even the first day I wore them. They are well worth the money.

While these Naots may not be the most stylish shoe, they are without a doubt extremely comfortable. I ordered them and they were on my feet 24 hours later.

I had a trip to Italy scheduled when I injured my knee. I was concerned about support and shock absorption. Naot came to the rescue years earlier when my feet were crying on a previous vacation. Zappos had so many to chose from! Peacock was perfect for me and I did order down a size. I've received many compliments on their appearance. They were worn for 13 days in Italy. I never knew I had feet the entire time!

Really impressive at first. The Naot Matai didn't have much staying power. These shoes were the first shoes I'd been professionally fit for since I was twelve. After 15 years of buying pinching, cheap, too-narrow, too-small shoes with no support or cushioning to speak of, I finally wised up, and went to a specialty footwear retailer in my town. The first time I put these shoes on, it was like a revelation. They were more comfortable than being barefoot, and heaps more comfortable than any sneaker I've ever owned. I was walking on air, and I felt like I was walking on a cloud, too. I walk to work (less than two miles each day), but I have an office job. I kept these clean and only wore them in dry weather, but was really disappointed with the way they endured. After a month, the strap detached from the shoe, and I had to have them repaired. After three months (not of daily wear, either, because I bought these in the spring and I tend to wear my Birks all summer), the footbed on these was torn apart and really compressed. A year later, they've been in for repair three more times. The last time I brought them in, the person who took my shoes asked me "what are they, ten years old?" The icing on the cake is that the footbed hurts my feet now, and a day in these will leave my feet (I have bunions, but nothing extreme) stiff and aching. Maybe the pair I bought were a dud, but I'd be really hesitant to recommend these shoes to anyone who plans to wear them for more than six weeks.

What a pleasant surprise. These shoes are extremely comfortable. I can wear these all day, go for long walks, etc. and not think about my feet. The advice about getting them one size smaller is so true. I am hooked and will try other Naots.
