I purchased these in black and now just got the purple, my favorite shorts for working out. Agree they ride up a bit and seem shorter than 4", but they're better than most compression shorts I own. I'd order up, I usually wear a small in shorts and I have these in Medium.

I'm 5'5", 126 lbs. and I got initially a size small. It ended being too small for me; the legs would roll up my inner tights when I run. I changed it for a size medium and now fits perfect. The material is very resilient and gives a good form to the tights and the butt.

These shorts are made of a nice thick material (not super thin like some cheaper ones that I had bought). They are really comfortable and fit great!

These are better than the Nike compression shorts, in my opinion, because the waist is more comfortable and stays in place a little better when you're working out. Length is a bit shorter than I imagined a 4 inch compression short, but they really don't ride up too much. A good purchase! Thanks, Zappos!
