I love these insoles. I have normal to low arches and these are the most comfortable insoles I have used to date. I have 2 pairs of superfeet, but for me the montrails beat them both hands down. I put these in boots I wasn't able to wear before and now I can, It makes them really comfortable. I didn't bother to heat them up they just conformed with the my body heat. For the record I am a big Montrail fan, and have owned 7 or 8 pairs of their shoes.

I really wanted to like these...I've owned 4 or 5 pairs of Montrail Hardrocks and hoped these could replace that fallen star. Sadly no- the sole began peeling after a month of causal wear. The heel cup padding began bunching up near my achilles. Ouch. It's truly sad to see this from Montrail- but I fear they've completely lost their way 10 years post Columbia acquisition. For forlorn Hardrock fans still seeking a replacement, try Brooks Cascadia or Adrenaline ASR.

These are great sandals. I have worn these for over five years, starting after I developed plantar fasciitis. They are comfortable and customizable (because you heat them in the oven and form them to your foot). The only problem that I have had over the years is that the sizing has been variable. I usually wear a size 9-9½ shoe. For my arch, I usually need the 10 in these sandals. Sometimes, the manufacturer must change up the mold or the straps because I get a pair of 10 and they are way too large. At that point, I just replace them with a size 9 (thank you, Zappos, for your easy returns).

These are great feeling shoes. Not quite right for my narrow sensitive feet, but I wish they were. They are a pretty design and color.

These look promising, and fit well out of the box. They seem to be well constructed, and made from strong, durable materials, but I am nervous about the mesh low on the sides (rocks, sticks, etc.). They are surprisingly accommodating to my wide feet, due to a less-tapered toe box, even with proper hiking socks. I am guessing that they will break-in very well as the leather bumper softens. They provide good ankle support, and snug up comfortably. They could use a bit more arch, and would benefit from a mid-foot shank. Very sticky rubber, nice flex, and seem to have a semi-stiff rock-stop plate between the EVA and rubber (good!). I am excited to put some miles on these.

Great shoe. Montrail shoes have been my "go to" shoes for 20 years and the Masochist III are just the latest model of a great line. Solid and comfortable, offering a stable run while protecting the feet from the rocks. Some of the Masochist I've worn did not hold up as long as earlier Montrail shoes and the Masochist model, but the rocks I run on eat up all of the shoes I run in. What's not to love!

Well made, comfortable for my 8 medium, high arched feet. I placed orthotic inserts in them and they fit well. The waterproof feature is useful for muddy walks. I like the tread pattern on the sole, which grips well without being heavy.

Best boot out there. Fits well and wears well. Good ankle support for those rock slide trails!

I was having knee problems about 2/3 of the way through training for a marathon and resting + icing weren't doing the trick, so took a leap of faith and switched to these from an old pair of thick-soled Asics. Absolutely wonderful. I PR'd by 25 minutes and beat my goal time by 12. Ordering several pairs now because these are magical and I'm never turning back. Width was perfect -- I have slightly narrow feet. Shale/Clear Blue ones are as cute as you can get with Montrails! :)

I am ordering my 4th pair of these shoes! I have walked across Spain (500+ miles) on the Camino de Santiago de Compostella twice in them with nary a blister! The waterproof feature is phenomenal yet not at all hot. They are roomy in the toe box which is what I wanted. I even broke a cardinal rule in that I took a brand new pair with me on my second walk across Spain since I never experienced any problem wearing them right out of the box in my previous pairs.. They were extremely comfortable from the start. I hope they never stop making this shoe. It is perfect as it is.

I wear a size 8½ in Montrail Masochist 111, but 8½ in this model was huge, both in length, width, and volume. They are great looking and I will try a size smaller, but I am not sure if that will solve the width/volume issue.

I love my Montrail Mountain Maasochist III. I have to buy men's shoes because my orthotics don't fit in women's size 11. These colors are not too bright so I don't have to advertise my big feet. They are perfect.

These shoes fit nothing like the Mountain Masochist IIs (which were the greatest trail shoes that I have ever worn). I get blisters on the back of my heels with these, and I think that I have figured out why. There is little to no padding at the bottom of the heel cup, then it transitions rather abruptly to substantial padding halfway up. This protruding ridge of padding is what is rubbing my heels and causing the blisters. These shoes do not hug the heel and midfoot like the II's either, and on a very steep trail race, my feet kept sliding forward in the shoes and I got a loose toenail as a result. It is a shame because I had such high hopes for these. The red version look great and they are super light. I did a 23 mile circuit the other day, and left the IIIs at home and brought my worn down and falling apart IIs with me, and my feet felt great! Money down the drain. It might be a while before I can trust my feet to Montrail again.

I really liked this shoe. It appears to be well constructed and I could tell it kept my foot very stable which is exactly what I am looking for. That said, I wear an 11 and it's just a little too short. Wish it weren't the case but these will have to go back.

I created a Zappos account because I felt so compelled to share my distaste with these shoes. I have had then for a few months and wear them every other day. They are falling apart on bottom in several locations. Also, while I am on my feet a lot I thought a good pair of hiking shoes would save me for and lower leg pain. These shoes have resulted in more pain than before. Steer clear.

I got another pair after buying the first one over 3 years ago. Once I had it mounded to the shape of my feet, the Montrail Molokini is very comfortable. This pair of shoes are perfect for my broad feet and provided good arch support. It is also great for the beach because of the wide base. Helps to protect the fret from rocks. I leave it I. The sun and rain outside my house. The layers of the flip flop is beginning to come apart but after more than 3 years, it is a good deal.

Wow, very light shoe. It feels like you have a spring in your step. Seemed almost a whole size smaller. I'm usually a 7.5 and the 8 was still too snug. I'm returning for an 8.5.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I love them. Very comfortable, fit my feet well and fun. I have wider than average feet and ordered my normal size. If you have narrow feet, these may not work for you unless they come in a narrow width.

You know they re nice when you go back for another pair. These shoes compliment by slightly wider feet and give me all the support I need for my tendency to pronate on heel strike. They are lightweight, comfortable, support my feet well, and great for both road and light trail running. Perfect!

I have about a ton of Zappos shoes in the last few weeks. I have miserable feet. My first try at Montrail shoes and they are darn good. Hiked in them yesterday and they were comfy and secure. Then these arrived and they feel so good. I have narrow feet and high arches and these feel "orthotic" good. Now I am keeping both pairs Why not!
