Merrell Reviews
Comfy sandals but they don't have the arch support like some of the other Merrell sandals. I wish I had picked another style with arch support.
Noisiest, squeakiest shoes I have ever owned. I wear Merrell Jungle Mocs every day for walking to and from the office, over a mile. They are the most comfortable walking shoes. My only problem is the stupid red and white "bungee cord" attached to the heel that I do not need to put them on. This useless attachment ruins the look of the shoe in the workplace or elsewhere. So, I bought a pair of the Jungle Moc Leather which does not have the stupid bungee cord heel attachment. Comfort and fit was excellent. But just walk across any wood floor or tile surface with these shoes! The squeaks and noise created will wake up the neighbors at night! Our offices have wood floors and the noise I created brings tremendous laughter from all my co-workers! I tried tip-toeing, walking very, very slowly, wearing different socks - nothing will stop the noise from these shoes! They are now collecting dust in my closet. I had to return to wearing the Jungle Mocs with the idiotic cord stitched to the heel.
Rarely do I write a review, but this shoe warrants the time. I have the vibram 5-fingers but wanted something a little more aesthetically pleasing. These are really cute shoes on and very comfortable. I just came in from a rain storm and they will be ready to go in the morning. I never would have chosen this color...I did because it was on sale. The grey and yellow/green are a terrific combination. I've actually had a couple of strangers comment on my cute shoes. Buy them.
I read many great reviews on how this shoe was so comfortable. It did not work for me. I have very sensitive heels. I can wear North Face hiking boots that I got from Zappos but they just get too hot in the summer.
I bought these shoes based on all the recommendations that I read. I love them! They do run almost a half size smaller than marked, as people noted. I got a half size larger and found I still had a little extra room. But I also noticed that the insole was a tad too firm for me! So I had room to go buy the thinnest pair of foam insoles that I could find at the drug store. They fit right into the shoes, and I ended up with a perfect fit plus extra comfort. I am really enjoying them.
If you want an extremely comfortable pair of shoes, buy these! Fit true to size, so comfortable you forget they're on your feet!
My husband got these before going to the Grand Canyon. No blisters, fit great. True to size. Great for the trails or just kicking around.
I love these shoes, the design, etc. however, the medium width is too wide and the shoe is loose on my foot. I normally wear a size 8M but alas, these do not fit. I have to return them. Disappointed.......
What a great turn around time, ordered these shoes yesterday and got them today! I ordered these shoes with the knowledge that Merrell is a great shoe for walking. As soon as I put the shoe on, I knew it was a keeper however, after a bit of walking around in the house with the pair on, this shoe runs big! (At least for me!) I typically wear a 7.5w or 8m. Since the shoe wasn't available in a 7.5w I ordered the 8m hoping that the shoe fit comfortably. It has a great toe box, but because they were a good finger push too long, I can't tell if they are a good fit. I have ordered a 7.5 in hopes that it is a keeper, I need a great walking shoe for my honeymoon in Europe!
First off, I'm not a big runner...had problems with knees and shin splints after even short distances but I am barefoot almost constantly. I train in karate and kickboxing barefoot and although I love my stylish heels and wedges am more often in Birkenstocks. So when I started reading about barefoot running I thought it might be better for me and so it was, no pain in knees and no shin splints. Now for the shoes, I wear an 8.5 or 9 in most shoes but the 9 did fit too short, my big toe pushed up to the front too much , so I got the 9.5 instead. This pair fit almost too large but I'd rather be able to move all the toes well, there is plenty of toe box space and yet the fit of the shoe is still snug and comfortable. I have noticed a pressure against the top of my bony feet after a while, but I think relacing might solve that, in any case with a pair of socks it is not noticeable. I have the crystal color and they are super cute.
I do love this shoe, especially because I ordered it before and have jusst about worn it out. I have to pick something else.
Most comfortable shoe in the world. Good insole, excellent mold for any feet. Highly recommended.
Very disappointed. Wanted to love this sandal. Wore a similar Merrell sandal a few years ago, but wow, their quality has really gone down. This sandal was a least a size smaller than normal, it looked and smelled like cheap plastic and was very stiff. Had to return and will look for leather uppers only from now on.
Disappointed - too narrow and short. Not attractive looking at all. Not the same quality I was used to from Merrell. The sandal feels and smells like cheap plastic. Had to return - I'd better stick with leather and a company that makes wide widths.
I love these shoes. Just bought my third pair, after walking my way through my previous ones. These shoes are extremely comfortable, especially if you walk and stand a lot as I do for my job. These are also great for medium level hikes and outdoor activities. The GoreTex lining is great to keep your feet dry when walking through puddles. The added GoreTex booty does make the shoe run smaller, so buy a half size larger than you think you'll need! Totally worth my money every time. (I wear mine with Bronze Superfeet for extra comfort.)
As a long time runner, I had been eager get into barefoot/minimalist running, but I wasn't ready to take the full plunge with a pair of Vibrams. The Merrell Road Gloves seemed like a good stepping stone. All in all, I really like these shoes. After my first run in these, I could instantly feel the difference. My calves and the muscles around my shins were sore. In traditionally running shoes, my calves were never sore. This tells me that the shoes are doing what they're supposed to engaging all of the muscles in my legs and feet. And after two weeks I've also noticed that my horrible pronation problem has fixed itself. In traditional running shoes I pronated so badly that the tread on the outer portion of my sole consistently wore down to flatness with the rest of the sole in good shape. The Road Gloves somehow forced me to correct myself. Which is fantastic. A couple minor gripes...1. I can't wear these things sans-socks. There's a rough stitch on the inside toward the outer edge of the sole that rubs the hell out of my feet and has given me blisters every time. But I throw on a pair of socks and I'm good. This could just be my weird feet. 2. They are a bit unsightly. I'm okay with the deisgn overall, if it weren't for that cheesy geographic line pattern. Is Merrel. paying homage to Trapper Keepers? What's the deal? All said - really glad I purchased the shoes and would do so again if given the choice.
This is my 2nd pair of sandals from them. I bought a pair last year and still love them. I wanted a bright color for spring/summer so I bought these. They are very comfortable right from the start. Although I have a wide foot these fit great. I wouldn't think twice about buying another pair!
I almost always choose shoes on style & never functional ability. As I am embarking on a trip to an arid, hot climate & sought a compromise of style and comfort/versatility, I thought I'd give these a go. They aren't bright pink or 4 inches, but they are cute and practical and very comfy. These will serve me well for my trip & the rest of the scorching summer. They run a 1/2 size too big, and the leather is quite nice so I know they'll stretch. I don't have time to return for a smaller size, so I'll make do. Merrell is a good brand, I've known this, but this is my first pair. If more shoes were cuter, I'd invest, but I'm an impractical shoe kind of girl who needs spice & color, but in the dark brown, they are most practical & most versatile. Also note, Zappos rocks.
I am new to CrossFit and wanted to get a "step up" on the others at my box so I thought I'd try these. Definitely makes me feel more agile and my box jumps have improved as well. They have enough cushion to run and seem to be made of materials that will stand the test of time. I found it to be a little narrow in the middle of my foot with lots of room in the toe box. I thought too much at first but this is advantageous when running and jumping because of how much your toes should spread when performing these activities. Good traction and comfortable. Overall I would recommend them. Merrell's rock!
The best I have found for comfort, support, breathability, looks, and overall "it loves your feet and means it!" I bought them in taupe gray, tan, and black and there are other colors. I think they run true to size on a medium width foot. If you have narrow foot, unless they come in narrow, the strap might not pull tight enough. Zappos is the best deal with free shipping and super fast delivery.
Even though this shoe looks beautiful on, I am sadly returning it. I bought it for walking and hiking, and it it too loose in the heel area. I don't fee like it is supportive enough. The laces also loosen.
