For some, the outdoors is more than just the place we’d rather be: it’s a way of life. It’s in the friends we keep and the clothes we wear. And Merrell is a company that understands that. From the weekend hiker, to the backcountry adventurer, they know that nature enthusiasts come in all types.
Founded in 1981 by a bootmaker in Colorado, Merrell is rooted in the outdoors and committed to quality. They are a company that understands the importance of melding form and function into a product that is just at home on the streets as it would be in the mountains.
This is why Merrell offers a wide variety clothing and footwear options. Whether you are grabbing dinner with some friends, training at the gym for your next adventure, or tackling a new technical trail, they have the variety and the quality you need. With a selection ranging from casual streetwear, to trail-specific footwear, you are sure to find the right product.
Over the years, the concept of what is “outdoors” has evolved to include both scenic and urban environments. And as such, the needs of those looking to get outside and have some fun have changed. Merrell has met this ever-changing world by creating products and technologies that meet your demands. Things like air cushion midsoles, Q-Form® footbed, supportive Trailspring® technology, Omni-Fit™ lacing system and innovative sole designs: These are all things that make Merrell the go-to brand for all of your outdoor adventures.
I usually have good luck with Merrells, and these seemed like exactly what I was looking for: a lightweight low-rise hiking/walking shoe. But they were simply too small. Although I had ordered my usual size, my toes were jammed up against the front of the toe-box with this shoe. I also found the shoe unsupportive and overall uncomfortable. I will not be trying a larger size, because the shoe just did not feel as though it were structured correctly for my foot. That is disappointing.
I had this sandal in all leather (loved it) a few years ago and so I ordered this one. Do not like the material strap that goes across the toes. No give to that one. shoe hurts after a short while. I want the old all leather one back. I still wear the old ones but there is not much of the velcro strips left.
I knew what type and size of shoe I wanted. I called Zappos and explained to the agent my needs. She asked me to wait a moment so she could consult with a colleague. She returned, suggested, I bought, it fit.
I have 3 pairs (size 14) of these Merrells in different colors. These are my go to shoe for casual wear. They are comfortable and have good support. I walk 3 to 5 miles a day in these as part of a back surgery recovery program and they work great. I wear these "man clogs" instead of sneakers. No break-in required. Regarding sizing, they run a little on the large side. Overall a great shoe.
The shoe is very comfortable to stand in and appears well made. It is a little harder to break in than I expected a loafer type shoe to be, and has worn out some skin on my achilles over the past week or so.
