So Comfortable! I love mocs, but they are not the easiest shoes in which to walk. Hurrikans have that Mephisto raised heel that helps propel one forward with each step. The padded tongue is quite soft and plush. One can firm up the fit so the heels do not slip and still be comfortable on top of the foot. I can see myself wearing these shoes just about everywhere. They are soft and comfortable right out of the box.

Great shoe - Im very happy with my purchase. I feel like I have shoe that will last a long time, stay comfortable, and look good. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. They felt a little big at first, but are now conforming to my foot. They "squeak" a little, but that is going away as the leather gets more supple, just like a fine dress shoe...

problem solved! WoW!! I knew it was what I needed the instant I tried it on. Wearing the Hurrikan is like walking on clouds. My fungus problem is solved! I no longer need to double socks or wear Cool Max socks because the shoe sucks the moisture right out of my feet. Why didn't I know about this shoe years ago? No one told me about it. Now I am telling everyone so no one will have to suffer like me -- physical therapist

Best you can buy - Bought a second pair after wearing the first pair every day for three years. You will not find a more comfortable or better looking casual shoe on the market. At any price.

My thoughts on the Mephisto Hurrkan - You'll never find a more comfortable shoe. Very long lasting, this is my third pair. Extremely pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I love my Mephistos! I bought my first pair of Mephisto shoes, model Match or equivalent, while visiting in Holland twelve years ago. My "popular brand" all-purpose shoe had just separated between the heel and footbed on a walk in Haarlem. I passed a shoe store and saw this good looking shoe in the window, stopped in and tried them on. It was love at first step!! I broke the Mephistos in walking around Amsterdam, Leiden and Berlin, the other shoes having been relegated to the waste bin. Never a sore spot or rub from the day I first put them on my feet! When my Harken and later, my Timberland deck shoes became unwearable, the Hurrikan was the natural choice. I have worn the Mephisto Hurrikans on three Continents and Australia and New Zealand as well as other Mephisto models (I now own five pair including the incomparable Niels sandal). Well, my wife couldn't stand it so she bought a pair about eight years ago. Now, Imelda (just kidding, of course!) has nine pair of her own! You cannot find a better made, more comfortable shoe. We are travelling to Japan in a few weeks. My new Hurrikans and my original pair of Match will go with me! A note on sizes: These shoes are European sized and will require a bit of patience in getting the right size for your foot. Trust me: That patience will be rewarded.

Mephisto shoes are simply the best! I believe that Mephisto Shoes are the benchmark for quality, construction and overall comfort. The price is obviously higher but there is no other shoe manufacturer that comes close to there level of comfort and durability. The only real drawback that I can offer to a potential buyer is that the shoe widths are a little wider than most american brands, so, if you have narrow feet, you may find the Hurrikan difficult to "snug up" due to the leather lace/moc style. I currently have 3 pairs of Mephisto's (Hiker, Gifford and now the Hurrikan) and they are the best shoes I have ever owned!

Finest shoe I've ever owned - I recently bought my second pair of these wonderful shoes. The first pair lasted 3 years, then I sent them back to be factory rebuilt. They are still good, but I bought another pair so I can wear them every other day. Comfortable from the first wearing.

Mephistos are perfect, of course. Strange thing about this, my normal size is 91/2D my old Mephisto pair was an 8, so I ordered 8 and its fine.
