MBT Reviews
We received our shoes just a couple of days after ordering online! My husband loves MBT shoes. This is the second pair of this particular style. He wears them walking and with his jeans. He finds he doesn't have any of the aches and pains after a long walk that he would have with ordinary sneakers. All of his dress shoes are MBT. Zappos has the best selection.
I had 4 discs operated on a year ago due to an automobile accident. Needless to say now that I am pain free, I asked my Doctor if I could wear the MBT scandals? He said and with that I ordered the PIA scandals which are so comfortable. Then I got them in Black. Next I was informed by online that the new Kiburi came out and I ordered them in Black. The Kiburi is so comfortable, and I wear them the most.. Would I buy another MBT...You Bet I would. I live in FL and we wear scandals constantly.
Ordered this boot due to a foot problem and wanted the rocker sole. It is fantastic and I love the look. I wear a size 9.5 wide and ordered a size 10 based on other comments about this brand. They fit when I removed the insole and substituted my own orthotics (extra thin version). If you do not have foot issues, the size 10 should fit if you normally wear a size 9.5.
These MBTs are very comfortable, as I expected, and I really like the adjustability at toes, heels and across the top. One of my feet is larger than the other by at least a half-size, and with all these Velcro points I can make both fit exactly. Oh, did I mention how good they look?
I loved the feel of these shoes. It was like walking on air. However, it took me many months to realize that they were the cause of my knee pain. I think the cushy, unstable way they force you to stand causes misalignment of some sort. While my feet felt great I was up most nights with severe knee discomfort. I'd check with a podiatrist before getting these. Sadly, I paid full price for them and had to throw them away.
(1) Order down 1 size. Typically, I order 41's in MBTs all the time. Have a wide foot with a high arch, but a 41 was still too big. Ordered 40, and it fits perfectly! (2) This is a dress shoe, so not quite as comfortable as an MBT lace-up, but still better than other dress shoes as far as comfort goes.(3) Got both black and incense (DARK beige - like a grocery sack) colors. Because of the white on the sides of the incense shoe, black looks dressier.
Interesting shoe. This is my 7th pair of MBT's. It reminds me of a hurachi-style shoe that Nike made several years ago. Like a previous reviewer, I found the closure mechanism not to my liking. I wore the shoes for a few hours, then took the laces out and replaced them with another pair of stretch laces. The original ones seemed a bit skimpy. Also, I replaced the closure with ones that are easier to operate. I have had no problems with heel slippage. On a good note, the shoes are very comfortable oh my bad ankles. Some of the MBT's are cut a bit high for my arthritis ankles; these are more comfortable.
I love these shoes. They fit perfect. I am an ER Nurse and work on my feet all day. I was having a lot of pain in my heel and my feet were killing me by the end of the day. My husband bought me some MBT's for my birthday 2 years ago..... no more heel pain and my feet weren't killing me by the end of the day! When it was time to get new shoes, I found some Sketcher/rockers on sale & bought them. Mistake! Not the same shoe at all! So I bought this shoe: MBT Sport 2! They are great! The only shoe I will wear to work! Zappos provided great service too!
These are the best looking MBTs ever and people actually have stopped me to ask about them. The one problem is the sizing. They do run large and are difficult to wear with stocking without adding something inside to keep from sliding. They are so wonderfully comfortable and attractive that it more that compensates for the size problem.
I've had MBT's in the past, and this one is a little cuter. When I had my knee replacement, they were the only shoes that I could wear and feel good in, I don't wear them as much as I used to, as my knee has healed quite nicely, but still MBT's are worth the money and do a nice job on my feet.
Could not be happier with this boot! I am long time MBT fan, but always had to endure their geriatric styling... until now! I get the same therapeutic benefits as ever before now with the added benefit of high black leather and a zipper. People actually compliment these boots having no idea they have orthopedic benefits. They just think they look hot!
This is my holy grail of everyday footwear for the warmer weather. The rocker tech works wonders for my sciatica (and diastasis rectus), while the see-through mesh allows me to go sockless and even looks cool, verging almost near sexy, which is a miracle in the world of MBT's. I wear them daily and am often told I look taller and younger in them! I intend to stockpile a second and possibly third pair to pre-empt any disaster that could be caused by their discontinuation.
In 2012, MBT started offering a wider range of shoes, including fancier/prettier shoes that don't have nearly the same support or heel as some previous models. The Sadiki is an example; it's an adorable style with lots of narrow straps that make these great for casual walking around town or a party. What this is NOT is a hearty walking shoe. If you are looking for very sturdy, hearty MBTs, you need to go with one of the other models. BUT if you're looking for a really pretty pair of MBT sandals made with patent leather, this is your sandals for the summer. As others have mentioned, the black is the go-to color if you want to go a little more upscale, because the heel matches the shoe color. Otherwise, the other colors are also very nice (but not quite as fancy). Only real down side is that the straps that go across the top of your feet are not adjustable. If they are too tight for you, you may need to use a shoe stretcher. On the other hand, if they're too wide, make sure to cinch down the adjustable strap that goes across the front of your ankle. However if it's REALLY wide, be careful; you might wind up slipping around in the shoes.
I'm sending these back. Unfortunately the shoes are much more narrow than you would expect. These are especially narrow in the toe and the strap isn't as adjustable as it appears. I have average width feet.
Discovered I was wanting to wear the MBT dress sandals I bought all the time and figured I had better try a pair of casual sandals, since I didn't like the feel of the MBT athletic shoes. I love the sandals for walking and being on my feet all day. If I have to stand, they are not optimum, but for moving around, and particularly for walking, they are the best.
Outstanding shoes! I wear MBT's about 90% of the time, and love them all. This pair is the most attractive of all the MBT's!
The Zalika is a great concept, and I wanted to love these. Alas, they do not quite work, and I am afraid that I will be returning mine. First off, the Zalika is unlike any athletic shoes that MBT has ever made. The Zalika is a hybrid shoe/mule marketed as a lightweight travel shoe, kind of like their old Kipimo model. With the Kipimo, you converted the clog to a mule by flipping up the back strap into a decorative strap that went across the top. With the Zalika, the back heel portion actually folds down and that is where I ran into the first of two problems. If you look at the back heel area, you see a kind of elastic banding that goes around the heel? That banding does not go up very high. So what winds up happening, is that the banding goes across the part of the heel that sticks out the most and because it has got a bit of elastic, it naturally wants to pull down. What you really need is for that banding to be higher, so it is closer to your Achilles heel. I do not think that that would have rubbed funny, due to the give of the elastic. Instead, the banding just naturally tugs downward. As it does, the material below the banding gets pushed downward as well, and winds up getting folded up at the very end of your heel. Trust me, this is not comfortable. The second problem is the lacing system. It looks really slick. Instead of regular shoelaces, they are using a very thin cord that is as thin as a cable. It looks really futuristic and interesting. Now, take a look at a close-up view. You do not actually tie a knot; the laces are bound together at the ends with a pull tab, and you adjust it with a cinch tab. And that cinch tab? When you push the lever button in place, it really holds the laces in place. The problem with that? The lever button is very difficult to loosen once you have cinched it down. To make matters worse, you likely will not really be able to see what you are doing (the button will be right under your thumb), and you cannot really get a lot of leverage unless you can contort your foot this way or that. There are some really good things about this shoe. I really love the breathable material. You can see how it is like netting near the front. That provides a lot of breathability, so it makes for a great summer shoe. And the soles use their newer lower profile style, so it does not look nearly so clunky. I hope they update this model, because I love the concept. Unfortunately, they missed on the execution, and what should have been my go-to travel shoes for flopping around a resort in or wearing on a walk/treadmill, instead I am sending this one back. Too bad. It had such promise.
With the Kiburi, MBT has hit another home run straight out of the ballpark. The photos here don't really give you a good sense of it, but these have a very low profile. These sandals have a stylish look to the rocker bottom heels without looking clunky. In fact, it has such a low profile I think I can pack these in my carry-on. Every strap is adjustable except for the X in the center. I have pretty wide duck feet, and I was able to get the X to sit comfortably with some adjusting. My toes always get cramped, but with the strap near the toes being adjustable, I can loosen it up as much as I need. The straps closer to the heel are also adjustable, and will prevent my feet from slipping too far forward while I wear these. Finally, a word about the chocolate color version. The brown is VERY dark. I typically just buy my MBTs in black, but I thought I'd give the chocolate a shot, and the color is great. It's dark enough that I should be able to wear these with both brown and black-based clothing and have it match just fine. These are really cute, ladies. And they will still give you the same support and relief of MBTs, but you won't look like you're wearing clunky platforms. These would be great for the summer!
