This is the perfect winter coat. I purchased several coats before finally finding the perfect fit here. It's really warm, comfortable, and looks sleek but can also be casual. It's great for my commute to work, but also wonderful for romping around in the snow with my little ones. The small details, like fleece lined pockets and hidden fleece cuffs, really demonstrates the quality and thoughtfulness behind the jacket. I've had it for a few weeks now, and kept me nice and toasty through the Boston winter. I love it, and would recommend it to anyone!

The size ran fine for me, so they may be closer to true in the larger sizes. I'm 5'4" and 130lbs. I would normally wear an 8 or 10, and the 8 fit me pretty much like the picture, just a bit tighter in the bum and thigh. Waist was a little loose, but fine. I'm short in the torso and like my pants a couple inches lower than my natural waist, so the rise on these was perfect for me. I love that they have Coolmax in them. I can't wear polyester for breathability problems, but the Coolmax actually helps.

They fit to size, have a flattering shape, zippers on side so easy to take on and off with shoes. Had previously bought Columbia brand for a bit less money, but they were smaller in size comparably and felt more like a raincoat material than these.

I'm amending my review because I made a mistake on the size. I tried to correct this through Zappos, but the review hasn't been changed yet, and it's been 3 weeks. I'm 5'4" and 125 pounds, and I own the size *Small* in this top, not the Medium. The Medium would have been too big. Sorry for the confusion. I didn't want anyone ordering a Medium based on my review, and it being too large.

I ordered a small and I have to return these. I am 5'2", 107 pounds, 28 waist, 34 hips. They are so large everywhere, especially in the lower hip, bum, upper thigh area. The material is extra thick and heavy in the upper part of the legs which is did not like.

Amazing jacket, perfect for Chicago's winters. I am 130lbs and 5'7 and M fits great. It is warm and does not get dirty easy. Perfect fit and color. Great quality too. I highly recommend it.

This is a very nice jacket. I am 5'7" and bought an XL. The sleeves are a good length. The marmot stitched logo is on the wrist of the left sleeve. It is perfect for my relocation to Seattle!

I absolutely love this jacket! It is perfect for skiing I wear it under my shell and it keeps me warm and perfect indoors too. Good quality and well made. I got a size M and I am usually a size 4.

I love this Marmot jacket. I am perpetually cold, but this coat keeps me warm from my head to mid-thigh in the snowy Connecticut winter. It is super stylish, and the inside is a nice cozy fleecy material that is soft and warm, but not hot. The same material keeps your hands warm in the pockets. Do not hesitate to buy this jacket!

I live in Boston and have terrible circulation in my extremities, meaning that between November and March I am constantly cold. I survived three Boston winters (including the last Snowmageddon) in an Eddie Bauer Stadium Parka, but due to my new work wardrobe of winter-unfriendly pencil skirts and my windy commute, I decided it was time to invest in a longer coat that would keep me warm through the winter. I had two main requirements: that the coat be knee length or longer, and that it keep me warm without need for excess bundling up underneath (if I needed to wear two more sweaters to make it work, I might as well stick with my old Eddie Bauer). To this end, I picked up four coats at different price points to compare: the North Face Shavanna coat, the Canada Goose Whistler Parka, the Eddie Bauer Duffle Coat, and this Marmot Chelsea Coat. I must say that out of all four coats, the Chelsea offered the least bang for its buck, came in last in warmth, and came in second to last in style, with only the Eddie Bauer Duffle coat ranking lower. While I am short and the Chelsea hit comfortably at the knee, the conical cut and lack of waist cincher meant that the wind blowing up the bottom could be felt all the way at the chest. In contrast, the Shavanna and the Whistler both kept wind at a tolerable mid-thigh height, and the Duffle (at a hideous ankle length on me) kept the wind around the knee. The details on the Chelsea were clearly well thought out, with fleece lined pockets and a sturdy zipper (neither of which are traits on the Shavanna), but its ultimate inability to insulate is sending it back to Zappos. I would suggest dishing out the difference for the Shavanna, if one is willing to pay a little more for a lot more warmth, or for those who are less concerned with looking like the Michelin Man, to check out the Eddie Bauer Duffle for a budget-friendly option that will keep you reasonably toasty through the winter.

Fantastic layering piece - great for skiing, running in winter under a wind jacket or vest, or hiking. Its soft, fits well and has nice stretch. I'm 5'4", 116 and got the Small. It fits well, could be a touch tighter but its fine.

By far my favorite winter jacket I have ever owned. It's been around 7 degrees and -10 with windchill lately and I haven't felt the chill at all. It blocks wind perfectly, the pockets are nicely lined so they are warm and cozy. The sleeves are fitted enough to where the wind does not go up them, and so is the bottom of the coat (keeps my bum nice and toasty). The hood is really comfortable too, some other ones (my North Face and Patagonia jackets) let wind get through when the hood is up and makes my head cold, but this one keeps it out! Love it!

I love everything about this jacket, the quality, the styling, and the fit....it fits beautifully everywhere except across the chest where it is much too tight. Unfortunately I will need to return it and try another jacket.

Ordered this jacket as a replacement for a heavy Columbia jacket that had seen better days. As some reviewers have stated, this Chelsea jacket is: Warm, comfortable, a little squeaky and noisy, and the hood is a smidge weird. My main desire was warmth and length. I ordered a medium to allow for sweater or layers underneath and it fits well. I'm 5'6, 135lbs. Someone mentioned the hood was huge and someone else said too small. It's a weird combo of both. You can't see well out of your peripheral if you extend the hood all the way, meaning unfold the fur. I have a big head and found that while the hood isn't snug, it doesn't necessary flop around either. I wore this during a chilly, snowy weekend in DC and it fit the bill. I would recommend.

I haven't had the opportunity to wear it in the rain yet but thought I would comment on sizing. I am 5'6" and 120lbs with slim hips. I ordered a small and it fits well, even with a light layer. I can wear a medium fluffy layer as well but the arms are a bit tight. If I unzip the underarm zippers part way, the fit would be fine. (That is not a fleece I am planning on wearing under it, just tried it as an FYI.) I really like that the hood rolls up into the collar. I think this jacket will work well for me.

This is a rain shell. If you are planning on layering this over something warmer, size up. I am normally a medium. It was very tight across the chest, with a shirt and sweater under it. I had planned to wear this over a light jacket, so the medium wouldn't cut it. I'm taking a star away for it being too narrow across the chest.

I am 5 feet and weight 92lbs. I ordered both SM and XS. The SM is big on me. The XS fits nicely with enough room to layer a thick fleece sweater. Although the sleeves are little too long but it looks fine. The shape of this coat looks and fits much nicer than the NorthFace Artic Parka. I haven't wore it outside yet so I can't say about the warmth. Also, I made four exchanges in this coat and now I am happy with the XS. I have to give Zappos' customer service an excellent rating because they make shopping a very pleasant experience.

This is a sleek, warm, attractively styled coat with two major flaws. For one: It really does squeak! And quite noisily, which I found to be distracting and irritating. (I've had rustly coats before, but never a squeaky one.) Secondly, the hood is absurdly tiny! I suppose it's meant to substitute for a hat, but in my case there was hardly room for my own head. When I wore the hood (sans hat), it lifted the jacket off the top of my shoulders. Too bad, because otherwise I love the coat. Being 5'9" and 120lbs, it's hard to find a coat that's slim and long enough. The XS fits comfortably.

Very well made, great style and fit, and is incredibly warm without being bulky or heavy. I decided on the Marmot Zeus after trying on other brands and styles, and I'm really happy with this jacket.

I loved this coat. It kept me very warm in 5° weather. The lining in the upper half and sleeves is great and the pockets (also with lining) are at perfect height for my hands. Yes, it is on the expensive end. But well worth the cost in my opinion.

Ordered this in both medium and large - the medium was too snug (5'6, 155lbs, with strong shoulders), and the L was too roomy, and the hood was flopping over my eyes. I don't know why Marmot thinks size large people have larger-sized heads. Other than that, though, very warm, nicely cut, just not fitting my shape. Both are going back.
