Marmot Reviews
Great light weight pant. Waist it tight and there is pull when you lift your leg up. Not as great for hiking as I would have though. Waist of pant is a traditional high waist. Great light weight pant if you like the high waist style.
Although I still can't believe I spent this much on a top like this, overall I am happy. It is very comfortable, really nicely constructed, and versatile. I would rather invest more money is good quality travel and hiking clothes that will wash well (sometimes in a sink) than get buy cheaper items. Quality over quantity and Marmot is always good quality. If wondering about sizing, I am 5'8', 125 lbs, and the XS fit well although the sleeves were barely long enough when unrolled.
I am 5'6 1/2" and 147lbs. I ordered these in a size 10 and they fit perfect. I love they sit right below the waist. The legs are not too big. Overall a perfect fit. Love the material, soft and easy to care for. I ordered two pairs the first time and ordered them in the other colors.
Great rain pants. I am 6'4 with a 34 in waist, so I went with the Large-Long and they fit really well. Bought them for a recent golf trip as the forecast called for rain every day. Comparable pants from a golf apparel company would have been at least $30 more than the Marmot PreCip pants. Not to mention most golf apparel companies rarely make anything with an inseam longer than 32 inches. The pants were a little slimmer in the leg than I was expecting yet there was still enough room in the leg to wear them over my khakis while playing golf.
Cute jacket, much more flattering than appears in picture. Material has a subtle pattern which is very nice. Love the color and length coverage. Fits layers underneath comfortably. Zippers on sleeves are convenient. No real insulation layer but I wore to Paris when the temp was in the low 50s and upper 40s with a layered wool sweater and scarf and gloves and it was OK. Blocks wind as well as rain. I bought size S and am 5'5, 125 lbs. Pockets were not an issue for me.
This is a wonderful top. It is soft, comfortable and can be worn for exercise or casually. I am 5'3, in my 60's, and 112 lbs. I first ordered the small but exchanged it for the extra small because I do not like things loose. I loved this top so much that I ordered the blue one for my daughter-in-law who is very particular. She loved it, too. She is 5'7, in her 30's, and weighs about 125 lbs. I bought the extra small for her because she likes things fitted. too. The price almost stopped me from ordering, but it is well-made and the back is so cute. With the three-quarter sleeves, it can be worn year-round. I would rather have a few nice, well-made pieces than a lot of cheap ones. If you feel the same, try this top. You won't be disappointed.
Perfect light rain jacket for summer storms. Super lightweight and easy to pack. Very classy looking (in black). Nice fit. Overall, a great light jacket for the spring and summer months. Do note that this would not be a good coat for the winter, rain or cooler rainstorms - unless you layered it with other pieces.
Great jacket -- very flattering! The "vented side fabric" isn't a mesh per se, but rather a thinner flexible material that allows the jacket to fit nicely without added bulk. I am 32D with 25" waist but bigger hips and took a small in this jacket to wear over a loose top. Very flattering for me because unlike some workout gear, it doesn't come down too long over the butt. Lightweight enough to layer under other items.
Looks great, it's well-made and has all the extras (for example, the zip opens from the bottom) though the snaps are a tad stiff and I worried I might pull them from the fabric. But the "biggie" is sizing: not enough room for a sweater for fleece. Marmot should know better! Sadly, it's going back.
Let me start this review by saying this is not even close to as functional or utilitarian as Marmot's PreCip jacket. If you're looking for an outdoorsy, do-anything shell, hit the back button and get the PreCip. While having a very similar design to the PreCip, the Rincon is clearly not aimed at the same demographic. This jacket does not have the pit-zips, the mesh-lined side pockets (for added breathe-ability), the wick-away sweat lining, or the roll-away hood. Simply put, this jacket is not purpose-built for tackling tough terrain in a torrential downpour. Not the right tool for the job. What this jacket is, however, is a very every-day functional and a bit more 'citified' cousin to the PreCip. It has a different kind of breathable polyester lining, not the super-breathable lining of the PreCip, that is all black and feels smooth and soft on the skin. It has one zip-pocket on the interior for your keys and wallet, and two zip side pockets--not mesh lined. The outer shell material is very different. It's not as shiny, less noisy/crunchy/crackly, and very cloth-like. And there's the added, very functional, sealed-zip chest pocket for easy access to your iPhone. I took this jacket on a week-long trip to Eugene/Portland, OR ... the land of rain. It held up beautifully. Water rolls off of this like a greased duck. All that functionality from the PreCip is there. Layering with this is easy, and it blocks cutting wind like a brick wall. But, when wearing this while hiking up a butte, I did overheat very quickly due to the lack of ventilation options. Luckily it wasn't raining, so I could easily shed the layer. But I would absolutely not recommend getting this jacket for hard outdoor activity use. So, point being, different tools for different jobs. This jacket looks great, feels great, and is just the right shell for trekking around downtown in a windy, rain-soaked city. But don't get it to hike, bike, ski, dogsled, or rock climb.
Love this coat! The fit was perfect and delivery was fast! Once again Zappos delivers the goods. The quality is great and with the water resistant material there is no fear of in-climate weather. Would order any Marmot product again!
Unfortunately, I'm sending this back to Zappos. I always (always, always) wear an XL but this XL is far to small through the hips and voluminous in the arms. The fabric is a bit stiff as well. This jacket looks far better on the model than it does in person.

I am traveling to Africa on safari and was given exact size and weight of the luggage I could bring. The very large selection and rapid shipping made it quick and easy.

I LOVE this jacket! It's a little longer and more fitted than a typical windbreaker, so is less sporty-looking. So pretty and flattering! Worth the price.
Love, love this jacket!! Perfect fit, warm for chilly spring/fall days, adorable and I love this green color. I originally bought a Patagonia down jacket and the fit was really weird. I'm usually a huge fan of Patagonia. So I ordered this Marmot & am very happy with it! I'm 5'3, 112lbs, xs is perfect.
Very cool technical jacket. Neo-shell is a revolutionary new product that keeps you dry to the bone while being very breathable at the same time. It is softer than a hard shell, but obviously not as soft as fleece. More of a soft synthetic feel. My only issue with this jacket was the fit. It is a very tight fitting design. Not for me. I am not a small person. Size 12 with broad shoulders. I couldn't even zip up the XL. Sad. Going to try the men's model. Hopefully that'll work because I really do love this coat.

This is bulky and very plasticy. It is pricey for the product quality. The sleeves are long. The hood is short.
I have been on the hunt for a black lightweight down jacket and tried the Jena - the small was a little too small in the hips and chest, but a med would have been way too big. I am 5'6", 125 #. Also, I did not think the fabric was a soft as the Patagonia or Mountain Hardweare - seemed a bit heavier. But, that being said, if it fits - wear it! A good jacket and you get to have the word Marmot on your chest - where I live there are lots of Marmots living in the hills and town - a city but they are still all over and beloved critters. Now if I could just find the perfect black shoes.
The Patagonia down sweater vest is better, this one is a little less fitted and longer than the Patagonia one and I bought a medium in the Patagonia one. This one I bought a medium and it is a bit tight around the hips. The other one fits my waist and I like it better. I also bought two of these and one is blue and I love the color but the pink one is bad - you can see the feathers through it, it is odd that they did not put a liner the coat is thin material I guess because I thought it was stained at first then realized I could see the feathers through the material. The vest is warm but I am returning them and getting a large blue. It has nice zippered pockets, and the blue is almost a purple color.
