These are wonderful boots. I wear an 8.5; however, on the advice of a previous reviewer, I ordered a size 8. They fit beautifully! Goat skin leather much more supple than cowhide and gives an "already broken-in" feel on the first wearing. Deep red color is lovely. Love these boots.

Overall this was a great buy. Customer service is so helpful. I bought this boot in my normal size (6.5) and it fit like a glove. They should feel snug the first few times you wear them, and even mine are still a little snug with boot socks, but I'd personally rather have a more snug boot than one that's too loose and kicking up in heel too much. Don't concentrate on the heel. Just make sure your toes aren't squished in the toe-box, and concentrate on how the topside of the boot conforms to the top of your foot. That part should be comfortably snug, as that's what keeps the boot on your foot when you walk. NOT the heel. The heel will always kick up a little bit, especially in the beginning before the sole has had enough wear to bend and become more flexible. Mine has very little kick now. I recommend buying in your normal size (Lucchese is known for being very standard about sizing) and if you feel it's too snug order 1/2 a size up. Or be bold if you don't mind the temporary charge on the credit card and buy 2 pairs--one normal size, and one half a size up and you can't go wrong! Just return whichever feels less comfortable, and only walk on carpeted areas to ensure you get your money refunded. Hope this helps! You won't regret a Lucchese--you might with other brands, but you will never regret a Lucchese fit.

The boots arrived with flawed stitching on one toe so I called and made arrangements to exchange them. As always, Zappos' customer service was outstanding and the exchange was promptly and cheerfully made. The boots themselves are incredible - they are very comfortable without the need to be broken in. My daughter liked my pair so much she got a pair for herself.

Got these today. Perfect right outta the box. I ordered my true size and they are perfect. I have a narrow, high-arched foot. I think anyone with a wider foot would have trouble with the width. These are my first pair of Lucchese and I want many more! Love them!

This is my first pair of Lucchese boots. I have a narrow foot and the 1/2 size smaller than my normal size fits nice and snug but not tight. I have bought and tried on many other brands but none fit like this brand. The softness inside and out is great. This boot can be worn anywhere. I am definitely going to order more styles and colors. Zappos makes it easy with free mailing both ways. The price is higher than most boots but definitely worth the money. You will really look forward to the days you wear these boots!

These are some of the best looking boots from Lucchese. Every time I wear them, ladies never fail to check them out and smile at me. I feel, well, too manly. I ordered them on a Friday and got them on the following Monday, on courtesy of Zappos, they truly value and care for the customers. Lucchese's 1883 are top quality boots, just as good as the classics that are custom-made. I find Lucchese boots even more comfortable than any other dress shoe. I claim they are orthopedic, since I am able to walk longer distances and stand for hours, without making my feet feel tired. I only wish Zappos would carry in stock some of the newer Lucchese Classic models (say, with the classic cowboy heel and 5/7 toe), since having them custom-made is a lengthy process.

These boots are incredibly comfortable and very stylish. I have somewhat wide feet and ordered the Lucchese’s with trepidation because they look so narrow. When they arrived and I took them out of the box, they still looked narrow, but, incredibly, they fit my feet perfectly. There was no breaking-in period at all. The embroidery work is gorgeous, and the leather is like butter. I ordered a half-size larger than my typical shoe size.

I walked around NY City in these boots right after purchasing them. They felt like bedroom slippers! It’s the first time I went to NY and didn’t have blisters. They are stylish and elegant, beautifully made, a very pretty deep red that goes surprisingly well with lots of outfits. I wore them with skinny jeans tucked in and with long skirts. The leather is so soft and conforms to the foot for a very shapely look. At first, I thought they were too tight over the instep, so I wore them around my apartment for a couple of days, and they soon shaped to my feet and are soooo comfy. They have a pretty heel that gives some height (not too flat) and a lovely, but subtle, scroll design in blue, that is unique and dressy. The toes are a very stylish shape that sets off the whole boot. I feel gorgeous in these boots!

Very elegant, soft, comfortable. Great fit! I bought these boots almost a year ago and they have worn well and look great. I use a suede brush and spray and prefer not to wear them in snow and slush! Ordered my regular shoe size and once they broke in and flexed the fit was great. I just ordered another pair of Lucchese boots from Zappos and they arrived less than 24 hours after I ordered them!

Love Lucchese boots. Their fit and finish is superb! Worth every cent. They arrived less than 24 hours after I ordered them. Great customer service! The fit is perfect. Order your regular shoe size. This is my second pair in less than a year. I bought also through Zappos, the rust suede cashmere style and they are elegant and soft and very comfortable.

WOW - Just like most reviewers, I instantly fell in love with these boots straight out of the box. Absolutely no break-in involved. I'd imagine if it doesn't feel right out of the box, you probably have the wrong size. I can't say enough how perfect these boots are - looks, fit, comfort, quality. Absolutely cannot go wrong with these.

I received these boots in just one day! It was LOVE at first sight...I took them out of the box, tried them on and they fit like they were custom made for me! I am usually a size 7.5 medium and I ordered a 7 medium and they were a perfect fit with a thin sock. The heel does feel a bit stiff, but this is to be expected until they mold to the shape of the foot. I couldn't be more pleased with the sale price of the boot, quick delivery, and free shipping. Lucchese is a quality product and from all the reviews I've read, it seems everyone is pleased with a pair of Lucchese boots. Thank you again, Zappos!

Comfortable but didn’t like color - These are amazingly soft even without socks! Unfortunately, I didn't like the stitching. In the pictures it looks more whitish/grey but in reality it is brown. It just wasn't for me. Also, I normally wear a 7 but the 7 was way too big. I may try a different pair of Lucchese's because they seem really comfy.

These boots are more gorgeous than I expected. They are devil red and super pointy. I have a very high arch and instep, so at first I had a hard time putting them on and taking them off. The leather is so incredible though, they were already shaping to my feet after the first wearing, and now are much easier to put on and wear well.

Runs small. I ordered my usual size but could not get my feet into these boots very easily, especially with a sock. I would not recommend them if your feet are at all on the wide side (buy Tony Lama's instead). I had to return them.

Love these boots - I bought these boots a year ago having always wanted a pair but struggled to find just what I wanted. They are great! I have wide feet and at first thought they may be too snug, especially from the look, but they fit very well, I can wear them all day with no discomfort at all. And I love the way they look, and I receive many compliments.

These are great boots! A true red and lots of pizzazz! I generally wear an 8.5, that's what I ordered and they fit perfectly. My foot is slightly wide, but not wide enough for a wide shoe, so I was concerned after reading the other reviews. But the leather molded to my foot on the first wearing. No blisters rubbing, or any discomfort - they felt as if I'd been wearing them forever. Very comfortable! They look fabulous with a denim pencil skirt or tucked into jeans. Definitely attention getters! This is my first pair of Lucchese boots, and I'll definitely buy more.

This is my second pair of Lucchese. I ordered a pair of the 1596 and these boots are as good as advertised. Haven't gotten a chance to wear these as much as 1596, but i love the tan leather and snip toe is my favorite style. If you want cowboy boots, I wouldn't buy anything but Lucchese. Also, I would deal with Zappos because fast shipping and free returns are hard to beat!
