I usually wear about a 10 and this runs large and fit great in a 9.5. I went to New Orleans and the weather was in the 40s and this pair of boots were amazing and I received SO many compliments on the boots. They also were very comfortable and I was able to do lots of walking in them like a pair of sneakers. There was also snow, rain, and mud that I stepped in with these boots and they didn’t lose their color, stayed warm, and looked great! I felt they were slightly slippery indoors once, but even in the rain and snow, I had no traction issues and no slipping. Expensive, but worth every penny! Thanks Keen and Zappos! Like everyone else said, the calf is tight. I am about 15 inches calf and could fit my jeans inside and also wore my jeans outside of it. So I suggest you measure your calf before you purchase.

These were a gift for my daughter with whom I never agree on fashion. She is a huge Keen fan and now wears these boots with everything. She is an environmentalist and her job often calls for nice apparel for meetings and shoes that are still appropriate for outside use. These are perfect! They have the comfort, the fashion and the function. With jeans, skirts, or in between these were an awesome buy. During our last snow, she was the only one that wasn’t sliding all over the ice (and as she noted still looked CUTE!). I am buying her more for her birthday and maybe mother’s day, too.

These boots are great! I think they fit true to size for boots. I usually wear a size 10 in boots, size 9.5 in shoes, and 9 in sandals and the size 10 in these boots fit me perfectly. The calves are no tighter on these boots than any other boots I own, that section of the boot also fits very well with jeans tucked in. They provide a very nice arch support (one of the main reasons I purchased them) and they are a perfect warmth for the winter here (lows can reach -10F). I really have no complaints for these boots.

Love my boots. They keep me very warm and they are great to wear with my dress clothes to work, as well as when I am out walking the dog in the snow. I had one small defect in the stitching on one of my boots, but Zappos quickly replaced my old pair for a new pair. Couldn't be happier with my boots. It can snow all winter cause I know not only will these boots keep my feet and legs warm, but I will also be super stylish! I order a slightly larger size than I thought I needed and they are a little large when I wear dress socks/nylons. I did it so I could wear them with thick socks (without having my toes squished) when I will be out side for extended periods and it worked perfect!

Okay so I do think that the soles on this shoe definitely could be a bit slippery, but have not tried them out in the rain yet. But this style is so freakin’ cute! I got the couton color and looooveeee it! It is a comfortable shoe and feels flat and not like I am wearing a heel. I usually wear a size 10, but I am wearing these in a 9.5. I have about 15 in. calves and find it is a bit hard to fit bulkier jeans into these, but not impossible. I think this look looks better than the jeans over the boots as the boots are somewhat visible underneath the jeans. All in all, I love this look and am very pleased with the purchase and Zappos! Thanks Zappos for letting me return the larger size 10!

Love these boots! Great for everyday wear. Not warm enough for extended wear in very cold environment - e.g. NFL football game - but generally really great boots. VERY stylish and comfortable.

Ordered the black Keen Bern High Boot! Love it! Have not worn it in super cold weather yet. This is just the boot I wear to my office job when it snows... and sometimes I keep them on all day! They are super comfy as a Keen is and they look nice, too! I need the comfort now, but this style is very modern also! Great boot for the value! On the website it said order 1 size bigger, so I did, great with medium weight socks!

I love these boots! They are cute with leggings and skirts. They are a bit tight in the calves so it would be difficult to wear them over jeans. They are not ideal to wear under jeans either as you can see the boot line. Very comfortable. I wore these for several hours while shopping and had no problems.

Great shoes! Comfy and cute and very practical for Chicago winters. I usually wear a 9, and bought a 9 1/2 (they fit perfectly).

Love these boots. Got them for a winter trip to China for comfort and warmth... fit the bill beautifully. I wear an 8.5 and ordered an 8.5. They fit perfectly well, however, a thick sock would make them tight. If you tend to wear a thicker sock, buy a 1/2 size up. The soles do feel a bit slippery on some surfaces, but after "roughing" them up with wear, you will walk with confidence. The Keen footbed will not disappoint you. Comfort from the moment you place your feet in the boot... no breaking in period necessary. The boot has sort of a "biker chick" look which looks great with skirts and tucked into jeans. If you are looking for a dressy boot, this is probably not the boot for you. I love mine!!!

Great shoe, but the other reviewers aren't kidding about the sizing. I'm usually a 7 1/2 so ordered an 8 in this boot, but I had to return it for a size 8 1/2. It's snug around the ankle and fitted in the calf, but a cute fit & pants fit underneath. Leather, buckles, general shape look just the same in person as on the website. (& Yay Zappos for making it so easy to find the right fit!)

I love these boots. I got my first pair of Keen shoes this summer and they were so ridiculously comfortable, I've been looking forward to my next purchase. I usually wear an 8 in a heel with no socks; my other Keen boots are an 8 1/2 - they fit perfectly with a thinner sock; and these Bern boots in a nine fit very nicely with a thicker sock. They are super cute, very warm, and SO comfortable. Literally my favorite boots. One thing though - the stitching on the center of the boot has unraveled one stitch at the bottom of the left boot. I so don't care, but for the price I think it ought not have. Two thumbs up!!

So...I wanted quality leather boots that were water/snow proof, lined with some sort of thick insulation, were fashionable, comfortable, and an affordable price. I found them!! Keen Bern boots! They were true to my size, size 9. The only downside is that the heel doesn't fit right. Either I have narrow heels or the heel is large in the boot. Anyway, I put an insole in them and it’s fine...

These boots are a great fit and comfortable. They are great in winter’s foul weather. The weather resistant leather cleans up well. Love the look over skinny leg jeans.

I am 5’8”, size 9 shoe, size 14 jeans and I have normal-sized calves (not so much the thighs, but that’s a different story). After reading the blurb Zappos posted and the customer reviews, I decided to get the size 10, 9.5, and 9 to compare sizes. I found the 10s to be HUGE, the 9.5s to be roomy but comfortable, and the 9s to be perfect. The calves were a little tighter in the 9s, but the adjustable strap fixed that problem. The boots are warm and comfy, and look really cute with some skirts and dresses I have. The only complaint I have is that you can see the top of the boot bulging through jeans if you wear them over the boot.

Super disappointed. I really loved how they looked and felt, but the seam tore only a few hours after I wore them for the first time. I actually reordered them because I loved them so much and the exact same thing happened only after one hour of wearing them.

These boots are a fantastic, more outdoorsy alternative to all those slouchy Ugg boots. Their snug fit around the ankle is very flattering and the faux sheep fuzz keeps your feet and calves nice and warm. As one reviewer said, they are comfy enough to wear around the house, which is what I do on a cold day. I do wish the soles had a little more defined traction, but I haven’t experienced any slipperiness yet. I ordered a half size larger than usual and they fit perfectly.

Love these boots! I have really skinny calves and usually can’t find this sort of boot to fit me. They are much tighter in the calf than any other winter/fur-lined boots I’ve tried.... And they’re super cute, comfortable, and warm! I’m considering buying another color!
