About Karen Kane
As a wife, mother, and professional, Karen herself has firsthand knowledge of the many facets of every woman’s life. Her designs are meant for those whose needs include style but go far beyond it. A polished essence that is ideal for the workplace, still easy to maintain and that embodies a classic ease that travels well. One of the most respected names in women's apparel today, Karen Kane has become truly synonymous with style, comfort, and sophistication. That distinction comes from the brand's namesake and chief designer, Karen Kane.
After growing up in the small town of Santa Barbara, Karen moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. She enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and graduated two years later with a degree in fashion. After meeting her husband Lonnie, the pair launched Karen Kane, Inc. out of their garage in Studio City. With little more than a dream to work off of, they shipped their first collection in December 1979. By the time they were ready to begin production on their next collection, they realized that they would need more space to keep up with demand. Moving to a new space in Downtown LA, Karen and Lonnie continued to do all of their own sewing and manufacturing before finally finding contractors who could support their growing business.
While trends have changed since Karen launched her first collection, her approach and personal philosophy toward fashion has never wavered. She designs with ease, luxury, and longevity in mind. Her inspiration comes from that which is closest to her soul – the California Coast she has long called her home, the city streets she navigates each day, and of course, her family.
As Karen’s company continued to expand, and the company has grown into a 130,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Vernon, California. Karen’s collections are featured in department stores and specialty boutiques nationwide.

I love this dress! It was great to find a maxi dress that had a deeper neckline. I am 5'11", and I thought the dress was a smidge too short, but in terms of comfort and style - it really hits all the points! The pleats in the front are great for showing off your waist, making you look longer, and hiding your middle. It's loose and comfortable, and easy to move in. I bought it for my summer travels, and can't wait to dress it down on the beach or dress it up for work with a great jacket! Thank you Zappos!
Love this skirt! Flows beautifully. Very romantic. Wonderful weight. Not see through. I am a size 10-12, 5'3" and needed to return this for a medium. Love you Zappos!

This skirt looks great on, and the fabrics feels amazing. It's a little "va va voom" for me style wise, so I'm returning, but in a more subtle pattern, I'd be in love.

This is a really cute dress. The cut is flattering. It runs true to size. I normally wear a size 10. I ordered a Medium, and it fits more snugly on me than it does on the model pictured, but it is still not too tight. I can't wait to wear it!

Great dress for a curvy but fit figure. Very flattering. I'm tall (5'10) and the length was not too short. Wrap did not gape and color is very flattering.
Gorgeous dress. I got it in the burgundy and I'm having a hard time resisting the urge to get the black as well. Comfy, sexy, flirty, girly all in one.

I purchased this vest for a friend and she loved it. Perfect item for winter. So easy to throw on and add a touch of fur to your outfit without overdoing it.
I have this vest in grey, and I love it! I have received lots of compliments about it! It is fun to be able to reverse it!!

This is the cheapest vest that I have ever saw! I would be embarrassed to be seen n such a frock! I sent it back, not quick enough! I was so sorry that I purchased it.
