John Varvatos Reviews
Like one of the other reviewers said, I was told they resemble the Chucks. These are stylish and very comfortable. I'm happy with my purchase.
Great boot, perfect with jeans, but definitely runs big. Holding up well after two months of frequent wear.

Stitching that held the buckle in place fell apart after wearing it about ten times. Terribly made.
Very stylish shoe. Can be worn with jeans or a suit. I found the sizing to be right on. Maybe a little roomier than usual above the foot but not bad. The sole quickly scuffs. I am not sure how long it will last before I need to replace it. These are a little less flexible than I like, making it slightly uncomfortable to walk in.

This is a nice shirt. Zappos is a great company to buy name brand clothing at a fair price (same as retail stores) sometimes they do discounts. They are the best! I recently underwent serious surgery and low and behold Zappos sent me flowers what a great company!
I liked the design and the quality of the leather, but the stitching that holds the belt buckle in place fell apart after 3 wearings.
I read a lot of the reviews for this shoe and was totally let down! They run a full size big and the width took away from that classy feel I was looking for. Tried them on with a Varvatos suit (coincidence) I was wearing and they looked like Frankenstein shoes.

Awesome shoes!! I am a hairstylist and I stand on my feet 12 hours a day these shoes are so perfect. Compare at the store $500. I own 2 pair and plan to buy a back up in black
Great looking and versatile shoe that's also comfortable to boot! Only complaint is the shoe laces are really long.
I was looking for a nice boot to wear both to work and out when I came across these chukkas. I've always liked ankle boots and these have a lot more casual of a style than most of the others that I've seen. Initially, I ordered a half size smaller because I read the reviews and ended up returning them for the actual size I wear. whoever is ordering a half size to a full size smaller in this boot does not know their actual shoe size or is accustomed to wearing ill-fitting footwear. Also, you do not need a shoe horn to get these boots on; don't be fooled by the other commenter. instead, try loosening the laces (novel idea) before slipping them on your fat feet. And to the previous commenter who did in-depth research on the chukka, complained about these boots' lack of comfort on five-mile treks, and ended up ranting about hipsters... 1.) you have too much time on your hands if you're learning that much about boots you want to buy; 2.) anyone walking five miles in anything other than a walking/running shoe is in for some discomfort (truth); and 3.) just because the boot has hipster in the title doesn't mean you have to be one to wear them. If you're looking for a good boot to dress up or down, this is a solid choice.
Very nice and soft leather, and overall comfort is excellent. One problem (and these are new shoes, I have them only for two weeks) is that glue seems to be of a very low quality, and during even the lightest rain shoes take on water like crazy. And after only couple of weeks of wear the leather all around the shoe started to separate from the sole, thus further aggravating the problem. I already need to take it to shoe repair having worn it less than a few weeks. Not something I expect from expensive shoes.
For the price, these are tremendously uncomfortable. There is no arch support or really any padding. While long enough, they are tight enough to make adding an insole impossible - and I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear. This was the most expensive shoe I've purchased and, unfortunately, will remain so. I have several pairs of shoes and boots at half the price that, while not as stylish, at least are comfortable to wear. What good is attractive footwear that is too uncomfortable to wear?As far as the boot itself, the workmanship is fantastic, the leather is quite supple, and they do look very nice. I only wish they were a bit less painful to wear.
Doesn't have much arch support, so I added 2 insoles with arch support and feels better, although it puts your ankle and foot higher and rubs against some stitching which isn't comfortable. Took some time to get used to...but I'm enjoying it now! Looks good. The bottom design rubs off quick though. I'd still recommend the shoe.
My fiance loves these shoes. They are comfortable and incredibly stylish. The leather is incredible. We would recommend them!
Great shoes. Fit perfect and true to size. Look great with jeans.
Can't believe there aren't any reviews. People tell me these look like Chuck Taylors. Then these are a killer version of them! Very comfortable and super cool. Like tennis shoes but killer.
I purchased 3 pairs of dress shoes for my husband, all about the same price point, and this was one of them. Compared to the others, this was by far inferior. The stitching was visibly uneven with loose threads, and the leather lacked luster. This shoe was made in China (compared to Spain and Brazil for the 2 others). If you want to invest this much in a shoe, you can find better value elsewhere.
These are by far my favorite pair of shoes. It's a little hard to get on and off but other than that they look and feel great.
These are my second pair of JV Chukkas, I liked them so much. They are really comfortable, look great and, in my opinion, have the perfect chukka look. I get tons of compliments. The only downside, and this comes with all chukkas, is that they are a little hard to get in to. A shoe horn makes it an east task though.
