- Meta-shank™: New 5-finger meta-shank aligns with each individual metatarsal for greater flexibility when contouring while retaining underfoot impact protection.
- Met-cradle™: The upper webbing support is anatomically positioned to cradle the forefoot behind the metatarsal heads and provide a secure foot hold.

These shoes have worked great. I wouldn't recommend them for heavier runners, but smaller runners looking for a fast shoe will love them. The one drawback is the thin soles. If you run on rougher terrain, you will feel the rocks and roots under your feet.

I found these fit similar to other pairs of Inov-8s that I already own. I currently own the Roclite 315 and the F-lite 195. Overall, the ride and the mechanics are just as I expected and desired. The sizing was appropriate. I am finding a little bit of blister trouble where the rand and second lace support meet on the medial edge of one shoe. This could be an operator problem because I've jumped straight into high mileage in them (1st 10 runs in them ranged from (8-23 miles). Newer socks seem to have helped, as have using the ankle lock lacing pattern instead of traditional lace/knot. I intend to use these for an upcoming 50k and expect that this blister issue will fade as the feet adapt. Great company, great shoe/foot mechanics, just a tiny bit of incompatibility which I have not had with other Inov-8s.

I have a narrow foot and these fit great. Not much cushioning but have the traction of claws. Less for packed trails and more for grassy or muddy running. I love them and they are really red.

Awesome. Just awesome. Almost zero break in required. Excellent overall trail traction in wet or dry conditions. Float like a butterfly, run like a Kenyan!

Like reviewer Trail g, I am also having some blister trouble with these in the medial edge where the rand and second lace support meet. (It's on my left foot, which has a slightly lower arch than my right.) Unlike Trail g, I did not take these on long runs (I barely made it 2 miles in these due to the discomfort.) I have not found lock lacing to ameliorate the problem, and am unsure whether I will try to break these in or return them. I love the fit, but I've never had a running shoe give me blisters so early on. Some google searching reveals that the blister pattern described here is not uncommon with this model - caveat emptor.

First, thanks Zappos for your excellent and fast service. This shoe is an excellent mid-foot strikers all-terrain shoe. Very comfortable, optimal amount of cushioning for an efficient foot strike runner; lets you feel the ground very well, but just enough to take away any concern with rocks. The outsole is excellent; the studs grip just right in loose dirt or mud yet also provide cushioning on hard dirt or rocks. This shoe was obviously designed by experienced cross country runners for other runners. I'm a runner of 37 years experience and this shoe is an excellent state of the art product.

Excellent shoes for trail running, the fit is true a bit tight at first but after one run they fit like a glove. Not a lot of padding, but that's the point with these shoes, let the trail be the padding. The extreme red actually makes me run faster as well!

These shoes are the best trail shoes I ever purchased. I wouldn't recommend these for running on hardball or sidewalk because the sole have almost a cleat effect. They are very light and very comfortable. The big thing is that they are very breathable. Only if they came in more colors then this shoe would be perfect.

I originally bought these to replace my f-lite 195s as a my daily PT shoes (I'm active duty Army)-- but the tread proved too aggressive for running on the road day after day and I shelved them. 6 months later I entered the Super Spartan-- a really tough mud race. These shoes were hands down worth triple what I paid! Throughout the race other competitors were sliding up and down the hills and struggling for traction, and I was surefooted and able to dig in and press on. These shoes are the truth when it comes to running off-road. Very light, minimal support, very aggressive tread. Think of them as 195s with teeth. I'd give them three thumbs up.
