I found this brand while looking for a new pair of gym shoes. I was happy I did. It does have a wider 'toe box' than most shoes and surprisingly it was great. I don't really have a wide foot but the extra room makes all the difference while working out. I bought my Son and Daughter a pair. But note - not all the styles for inov-8 have the wider toes so check out each style if you are looking for that. I wish invo-8 would have more of the 'no-tie' styles.

They run really small. I usually wear US Men's 10.5, and I size up to 11 for running shoes. The 11's felt like 9.5's or 10's. Unwearable. The 11.5's feel more like 10.5's. They're actually a bit smaller than my 10.5 Nike Air Max Tailwinds. But I stuck with the 11.5's because the tighter-than-normal-for-a-running-shoe fit may be better for an obstacle course race, and the 12's were a bit too big. Will update after the race.

Super comfortable, light weight, thick padded tongue, very easy to put on and adjust and very fast to take off. Extremely sturdy foundation for weight lifting and I hit a squat PR the first time using them. The toe is more flexible than other olympic lifting shoes so you can do box jumps and other movements without changing shoes though they're obviously not as versatile as a crossfit shoe. I am usually a 12 and wear a 13 in Reebok Crosfit Nanos so I ordered the inov-8 in a 12.5 USA and they fit perfectly.

I am very happy with these shoes so far. I fell in love with version 1 of New Balance minimus shoes, but subsequent versions didn't work as well primarily because the fabric allowed my toes to poke through very quickly. I have been looking for a lightly more substantial, structured minimus-style shoe. This one seems to fit the bill. Thay are stable, light weight, and wide enough across the metatarsal.

I purchased these to compete in a Spartan Sprint after researching several shoes. Wore these with snug, thin performance socks. Grip with dirt, turf, flat rock and mud was terrific. Water drained quickly; dirt and gravel stayed out. Aside from a few days of breaking in (which wasn't really necessary), I pushed these for over 5 miles of widely varying terrain and was glad I'd bought them. I recommend going for a snug fit if that s how you plan to use them, to minimize blister potential and reduce likelihood of debris getting into the shoe.

I wore them for 2 workouts (they are supposed to be cross trainers). The toe cap started separating from the rest of the shoe. Back to the Reeboks for me. :(

Once you go Inov-8, you never go back! What more needs to be said? This is my 4th pair of Inov-8s, and these athletic shoes are incredible. The wide toe box allows the forefoot and toes to have ample space to perform their appropriate anatomical functions. The zero drop (no height differential from heel to toe) is similar to the motion of walking barefoot and does not create any postural distortion that conventional sloped athletic shoes do by raising the heel. Inov-8, if you are reading this, please make some zero drop tennis shoes (although I have used the F-Lite 235s to do that)!

I was really looking forward to trying this shoe out...my husband uses the Men's F-Llte 235's for his crossfit workouts and loves them. Having just started a modified crossfit program myself, I needed a pair of shoes that had a wider toe box -- my New Balance cross trainers are just a tad bit narrow in the toe, which puts pressure on the bunion on my right foot and causes joint and tendon/ligament pain when doing mountain climbers, tire flips, planks, etc. Unfortunately for me, these just don't work. Plenty of room in the toe box, so no issue there, but these F-Lite 235's force my heel and ankle to roll inward...even my husband could see it, it's that obvious. Interestingly, he says his F-Lite 235's don't do that to him (and he's extremely careful about his foot pronation in workout shoes). So...back these will go. I also ordered a pair of the F-Lite 195's, which are made differently and don't cause the heel/ankle inward roll, so those may end being the ones I keep for my workouts.

I am really impressed with Inov-8. Given that Patagonia stopped making running shoes, I had to make a switch. I have logged a lot of miles on the trail with the Ultra and they are fantastic. I always size up one for running shoes and that approach works fine for both my Inov. Other reviews say not to size up but that did not work for me. They are a great color as well!

I have flat, wide feet and these shoes are extremely comfortable. I wear them to do Crossfit, so mostly indoors, but they are great for short runs outside as well. I haven't run more than a mile in them yet, but I haven't had any issues. I love the half gray/half purple look too.

I only wear these during crossfit and working out but so far they are holding up well and are very comfortable. True to Inov8 form they have an extremely wide toe box and no real support anywhere, which is why I love them.

I purchased these for a CrossFit class I was starting. They are great. The grip is excellent without the risk of twisting my ankle due to the minimal sole. I would not recommend for running any distance but perfect for CrossFit.

The inov-8 Roclite 280 are a good looking pair of running shoes. It didn't fit me. it appeared to be a size too short for my left foot, I guess it was wrong, but it was a 9.5 Men's the right side fit just right but the left felt like a 9men instead of 9.5mens. instead of returning them back it fitted son so I gave it to him he likes them as well as I like these shoe. I order a pair of race ultra 290 from amazon 9.5 and a 10 all men's sides and they fit super. These shoe keeps me very comfortable while running. So I really believe as for me I found the running shoes that keep me running. Thank you Inov-8. Really.

After my first few obstacle course races with a pair of old running shoes, I broke down and got a pair of these and it has made all of the difference in the world as far as the confidence it gives me out on the course. I initially felt a hot spot on my pinky toes due to my wider feet, but I was able to remedy that with a different lacing pattern that gives more room in the toebox. Now, the hot spots are gone and I routinely wear these shoes for obstacle courses up to 10K. The shoes are definitely not the most comfortable pair that I own, but they are not meant for strolling around town. If you want shoes that have good drainage and protects your feet while providing a serious amount of traction on sloppy and muddy terrain, these shoes work well.

I have owned these shoes for about 10 months now and would buy another pair in a heartbeat. I am not gentle with these shoes at all and they have held up great. For the last 10 months, I have been wearing these shoes to the gym and putting them through their paces. These shoes have taken whatever I dish out, which usually involves heavy kettlebell lifts and body weight fitness, with the occasional olympic lifting. Normally my toes wear through mesh shoes very quickly, but the only thing showing signs of wear is the toe protector.

This my 1st pair of Inov-8 shoes. I specifically bought them for weight lifting. They fit good to my surprise due to another I purchased that was like 2 sizes too small...no joke! I ordered this one in a 1/2 size larger and estimated correctly. This shoe has had good review from other sites. Haven't worked out in shoe yet so hard to rate.

I love the style of these shoes, but the extra wides are not extra wide enough for my foot, which is a relatively common problem. My small toe is smashed. I've kept them because they are fine for low intensity workouts like lifting, but I could not run or play any active sports with these. They also have minimal arch support. Compared to something like New Balance EEE shoes, these are uncomfortable.

I love these shoes! They feel light and secure running through muddy trails and over slick rocks. Drain and dry super quick. If you've worn minimalist shoes before, you'll be pleased with these. If not, you may want to ease in with these. Yet another favorite from Inov-8.

great fit, roomy toe box with a barefoot type feel, not alot of cushioning but they are not clunky and move well with you so you don't seem to be pounding the ground. Zappos service it's fantastic! Got the shoes the next day!

I'm using these for orienteering. I've been very happy so far with them, haven't taken it into very muddy terrain yet but the grip is excellent on everything I've thrown at it so far (wet weeds, steep slopes, rocks, dirt, overgrown areas). Be careful they don't burst into flames on your feet if you try to run with them on pavement. (Just kidding.)

I have run six Tough Mudders and three smaller mud runs and these shoes are absolutely awesome! These shoes dig in the mud and give me great traction. On smooth surfaces, no worries on Tough Mudder Everest 2.0! I have replaced the laces with lock laces for easy on/off, stay tied, and debris removal. Wash easy. I have put the shoes (not insoles) in the dryer but tend to air dry them in the sun. I have a wide foot and these run narrow, fit like skin (no socks). Three years and these shoes are still in great condition!
