I love these shoes. These are my first trail runners, and they're everything I hoped they would be. I am a tall (6'1"), light (155 lbs.), neutral-gait runner with fairly high arches. I run in the Mizuno Wave Rider (a light neutral-cushioned shoe) on roads and easy trails, and I wanted something else that could handle everything from muddy single-track to rooty, rocky northern New England mountain trails. The Roclite 295 is typical of what I've read and heard about the Inov-8 brand in general: fairly minimal support, super-light, and a nice grippy outsole. If you're looking for a shoe with pronation control or a ton of support, the Roclite 295 is probably not the shoe for you. But if you're looking for a minimal, light, super-flexible, grippy trail runner, the 295 is great. A couple of additional notes: (1) the upper does a great job of holding the foot in place on rough trails; and (2) the shoe dumps water like crazy. It's not a waterproof shoe, but it doesn't soak up water the way most running shoes do.

I hike about 6-8 miles per trip and these shoes are very supportive around the ankle and have great traction in either mud /loose rock / hilly conditions. The Gore-Tex GTX lining works as advertised and it ventilates well enough to stay comfortable in the summer. These shoes are so good that I bought a second pair for when these wear out. I strongly recommend this product to anyone seeking a lightweight sturdy hiking shoe.

These shoes are really lightweight and low to the ground. They feel great on the fireroads and singletrack that I usually run. If you are prone to rolling your ankles, you might want to look at something with a little more support. These are basically racing flats with traction.

These are the best off/on road runners that I have ever owned. They are super light and have great traction in the firebreaks that I am used to running on. The transition from sand to hardpack to asphalt is seamless. I would also recommend these runners to anyone that is involved in high level pt like crossfit or strend that require a mix of gym work with outside work. That transition from indoors to outdoors is also very good.

Recommended to me in a CrossFit Endurance certification seminar for having a good stiff sole and being good for POSE method running; these shoes have absolutely delivered as advertised. Been running on them for two months now and love them. Tread is burly and great for off road; stiff sole makes them great for most crossfit WODs short of max effort lifts, too.

Great shoes for hiking, running, etc. Some small caveats after having them 3 seasons. They run a half size small as stated so order accordingly. They\'ve been through a lot and only now have a small amount of delam on the edge of one sole and the protective toe-cap ripped on one shoe but both could be fixed. I should mention I\'ve landscaped for about a month in these as well due to necessity. Don\'t think the dust won\'t get in either because it always does. Great summer shoe runner though! Can\'t wait to try the hi-top for hiking as I have weak ankles.

The greatest off-road racing shoe ever! If you're a minimalist, want the lightest, most comfortable, fastest shoe with tons of grip, and you have narrow feet, I seriously doubt you'll ever find anything better. I do lots of 8 and 10k's here in the wet, muddy Pacific Northwest, and these haven't missed a beat in their near year of hard racing. I'm 6'1" and about 190lbs., and bomb the downhill sections very hard and have never lost traction. I love when something delivers as good or better than promised. Inov-8 rules!

Rock on, Roclites! Just ran in it yesterday for about 4-5 miles and, wow, what a surprise!. I love how the shoe fits snug like a glove. I also love how there is just enough cushion, but not so much that you can't feel the ground a little bit. The traction is just spot on and the rubber is very tacky and soft so you can easily run across boulders and logs. They also very light, which is good when you need to jump a snake! All in all I give this shoe a 4.5.

Best all around shoe for hiking, running, everything!Sturdy, ultra comfortable, roomy toe box. If you want the bottoms of your feet to feel like they are padded with three inches of incredibly soft material, select these shoes. They are waterproof and the best all around shoe that I've found...and I read a lot of reviews! These shoes also work well with orthotics which makes them dream shoes. Love, love, love Zappos.

FlyRoc 345 GTX - I'm a disc golfer, and my particular style of play is punishing on my shoes. I have destroyed many, many pairs, and tend to do so in short order. I purchased a pair of Keen's not too long ago, and they lasted two months before shoe goo could not keep them together any longer. Very disappointing. I purchased these next, and have been VERY happy with them. They have endured a full 8 months of abuse on the course, 4-7 days a week, every week. They offer comfort, performance, support, good looks, and they are built to last. I intend to purchase more Innov-8s in the future.

I have worn the shoes several times while working out in a "Boot Camp" class. The surface we use is grass and pavement. The shoes are very light and the cleats really help with running and cutting on grass and hills. I have so far done several runs of 1-2 miles on pavement in the shoes without any foot discomfort. I ordered my true size and the shoe fits perfectly. The quality is top notch. The GORE-TEX material is exactly what I need for wet grass surface workouts. I highly recommend the shoe for the type of workout that I am doing.

A great trail running shoe! The wetter, muddier, and tougher the terrain, the more you'll love this shoe! I've raced this shoe on the fells in Scotland through bogs and up steep slippery grass slopes and I never once doubted the grip on these shoes. They are narrow but that's precisely what you need when the ground is so uneven beneath your feet. After a day in the mud they are easy to clean off too. They don’t have a lot of cushioning so they're not too comfortable on the road.

First time trying Inov-8. Love them so far. Totally comfortable, lightweight, flexible. Good cushioning, but not overly cushioned. Very natural feeling. Would absolutely buy again in a heartbeat (and may have to soon, since soles are grippy, but not long-lasting).

Light and comfortable, good fit, very little underfoot protection, mud stays in between lugs, almost zero cushioning, good for cutting the grass with a cold glass of lemonade, and quiet walks on the beach.

Inov8 is one of my favorite makers of light weight trail running shoes and this is an excellent example. Good traction and very comfortable. Best on softer surfaces but not too bad on hardpack or even pavement for short distances. Nice that they have the women's specific fit now, but the sizing seems off. I needed a half size smaller than normal. Thanks to Zappos for free shipping both ways!

This was an absolutely great shoe the first 8-10 times I wore them. Later, they developed hard lumps inside the forward part of the shoe, just about where the #5 toe is, resulting in such discomfort that they are now unusable. The lumps feel like they are clumps of rubber that form as a result of flexing the shoe. Perhaps a problem with incomplete curing in the manufacturing process? A friend of mine with the same shoe has gotten the exact same problem, so it isn’t just an isolated problem. Unfortunate, but I cannot recommend them at all.

I love this shoe. It fits great and is an excellent training shoe. Great on hard pack and flat trails. This is even my treadmill shoe of choice. Very comfortable. It does have a soft sole so I don't wear for normal every day use, even though it's a sharp shoe.

I have a new favorite athletic shoe.I found these Inov-8s while looking for an athletic shoe with moderately aggressive traction to use while running dog agility courses. I ordered my regular shoe size. When I opened the box, they looked so small and narrow that I thought there would be no way they'd fit on my feet. I was wrong... they fit perfectly. I have a narrow foot and they fit closely through the arch area with plenty of wiggle room in the toe box. I have worn these shoes repeatedly, and they have not rubbed once. The sole is firmer than my regular running shoes, which I really like. The close fit and the firmer sole help keep my feet under me when making quick changes of direction and the tread feels secure on surfaces like grass and packed dirt. Having a back problem, I'm always searching for supportive shoes and these fit the bill. I may need a second pair, since I seem to keep wearing them around town.

Like a high performance car tire...It works well, but wears out quickly. This is my third pair of these. I love how light and stable the shoe is. I wish they did last a little longer. Rather than wearing down, the lugs under the forefoot start to disintegrate. They're still usable, but shedding rubber. I would recommend them to anyone, but just know they aren't the longest lasting shoe in the world.

About Inov-8

Based in "England’s last Wilderness", the North Pennines, Inov8 is a British company that’s passionate about the specialist off-road running products they make. Inov8 is committed to providing you with functional, lightweight products that will enhance your performance and enjoyment. If they cannot innovate, Inov-8 doesn't do it.

All of Inov8’s products, whether they're Inov-8 trail running shoes or other Inov-8 running shoes, are extensively tested by enthusiasts and elite international athletes to guarantee they perform like they say. Their whole design development process centers on optimizing the end user's performance. The uppers if Inov8 shoes are extremely functional with mesh in the forepart and tongues for maximum breathability. This creates a good climate that helps you run at your best. When you run through water and the shoe gets soaked, it creates a pumping action that expels the water from the shoe allowing it to dry quickly. The lace webbing is positioned allowing a secure foothold without altering the natural alignment of the metatarsals. The back of their shoes are cleanly cut which allows your Achilles tendon to experience high levels of comfort and minimum restriction- particularly when running down hill.

The Inov8 team is made up of experts with proven track records in the footwear fields of sports, mountaineering, marine, outdoor and industrial design and development. This linked with a strong bio-mechanics input, coupled with a test team of elite athletes in the mountain sport environment gives Inov8 the creative culture for next generation products.
