Excellent help for beginners in weight lifting. Will definitely purchase actual lifting shoes in the future.

I bought these for participating in Spartan obstacle course races. So far I've used them in five Spartan courses ranging from the Sprint to the Super. The aggressive rubber nubs on the bottom are fantastic for climbing up the muddiest, slipperiest hills without sliding. The problem with the cleats though is that they do not shed the mud, it feels as though you've strapped on five pound weights after exiting any mud obstacle. You have to stop and run your fingers across the bottoms in an attempt to rid yourself of at least some of the trapped debris. Another problem I've found is that when they are wet and clogged with mud and you're running to the next obstacle, my ankles have tended to roll. I think this is because the heel is very narrow and high while the upper support is minimal. For my last Spartan race a week ago I switched to the Inov-8 Oroc 280 which still has aggressive cleats (they even have small tungsten carbide spikes) but they are spaced out more leaving more room to shed the mud. They performed great, seemed to shed water better (no squishing after exiting water obstacles) and to my surprise did not slip at all when running on rocks (I thought the tungsten carbide spikes might present a slippage problem across rocks). The only problem I had with the shoes was wearing them to Walmart before arriving at the race site - they're a bit noisy when walking across hard surfaces (don't do this at home!).

The shoe is okay. I guess that a great shoe is one you never think about or notice once it is on your foot. This one, however, will not stay tied. The strings are made of a slippery material that allows them to frequently come untied during exercise. The tongue will also slide to the outside of the shoe.

Running shoes? Hmmm. These are amazingly comfortable and perfect gym shoes. Soles are a bit thin for running and the construction doesn't provide the usual support of a more traditional running shoe (Asics, or New Balance for example). But amazingly comfortable for everything else and I highly recommend giving these a try.

Boots are true to the product description: lightweight yet supportive with great traction. Toe box is sufficiently wide for my feet, but had to go up a full size to be able to put in orthotics with decent arch support (I'm an underpronator). I do expect that the light grey with neon yellow trim will be a different color after a few hundred miles of backpacking though! No break-in required. Lightweight laces more common to a dress shoe.

I love these shoes for Crossfit. I feel much more stable lifting weights now. I had to get a 1/2 size larger because the angle of the heel made my foot move forward and crowded my toes. I got the bright pink ones and everyone loves them.

Love my new shoes. They are light and breathable. My toes have plenty of wiggle room. What's also great is how the shoe is flexable ...so I feel like I'm walking barefoot.

I do everything in the 195 from sprinting to weight lifting to crossfit style workouts. Plus I wear them every day (I own four pair). Zappos is the best.

These are my first pair of zero drop shoes and they work great for lifting. Its nice not to have all of the extra cushioning that traditional running shoes have. It helps transfer force into the floor for big deadlifts and squats. I am running only short distances in them for now (5-7 min at a time) to get my legs used to the new form. The lack of heel padding really forces you to run differently, but my lower leg muscles need to develop before I can do any great distance in the barefoot type form. The two best parts of the shoes are the feeling of ground contact and the flexible toe box, which lets your foot splay out as though it was barefoot. It feels great after years of more restrictive running shoes.

Bought these for my wife for her birthday. I had purchased a pair for myself a month earlier and loved them! Awesome shoe with great support, flexibility, and keeps you stuck to the ground. PRs in my squats, and I've finally found a rhythm to my snatch that feels right. I purchased 10.5 (same as my 262s) and had to return for a 10. I bought a 7.5 for my wife (same as her Inov8s) and had to return for an 8. Not sure where the disparity is, but just buy your normal size in an inov8 shoe and be prepared to exchange them. The process took a total of 5 days from purchase of the first pair to the exchanged pair being delivered to my door, so don't worry about how long it will take. Zappos is 100% my spot to go for these kind of purchases where I am not sure sizing but don't have a store to go to try them on.

These shoes are perfect for cross training and running distances less than 5 miles. I have run longer distances, but there is minimal cushion. Definitely don't run in these shoes if you do not already run on mid-sole. I use them mostly for crossfit and they are perfect. The 252s have a wider toe box compared to most inov-8s I have tried on. My normal work shoes are size 11 and my invov-8 252 are size 12.

These are great. I used them for my first Spartan Race and they didn't disappoint. Excellent traction and maneuverability. I used my personal insoles but the ones that come with work just as great. Rocks no problem, muddy logs a breeze. Also, kudos to the great folks at Zappos. I ordered the wrong size out the gate thinking I needed the extra room. They overnighted me my correct size just in time for my race. They rock!

These are honestly some of the best fitting, coolest looking workout shoes I've ever owned. If you have a wider foot get the standard and if you want them snug for running and lifting go a half size down.

Shoes fit true to size. Still only a few weeks old at this time but they feel awesome. I would recommend these. They get a little sloppy in the heel when pulling or squatting heavy (over 500). I have other shoes that I use for that (Asics Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66).

I bought these to run fast on grass, and they do the trick. I love the sticky tread and how low it is to the ground. I tried the Inov-8 Bare Grip 200, but they were just a little too minimalist for me. I like the little extra padding in this shoe. I had to return my original purchase of size UK6 to get the size UK7 and they fit perfectly. I am normally a size 8.5-9ish in running shoes, and I have a wide foot. Very happy with this purchase. The orange is a little more attractive in person too.

I got these for sand dune ATV riding. Since they are waterproof, the high tongue is connected almost all the way up and they did great at keeping the sand out! I'm really picky about shoe comfort, have fairly wide feet and need some decent arch support. Right away, I could wear these for hours and not have any problems. They don't get too hot either which is great for riding in hot weather. I think they run a bit small, but not much. Sure, they aren't the most attractive shoe, but they look great on an ATV. I don't bother writing many reviews, but these earned my time.

I originally purchased the product in a size 7.5, as that is my usual sneaker size. The shoes were too big, I returned for a size 7 and they fit perfectly. The description says that the color is Pink/Yellow/Black, the shoes match the product image and are purple not pink (I was hoping they were purple). Cool looking sneaker and they fit well.

I absolutely love these shoes! I got them for crossfit lifting because I was feeling very unstable with some of the more difficult movements. These shoes make me feel so stable and have helped me gain confidence when lifting heavier weights. Plus, the teal color is so cute! I have gotten several compliments.

I just wore these in the Virginia Super Spartan and they were the best shoes I could have worn. The grip was excellent in foggy, partial rain conditions. We were trudging up and down black diamond hills for hours, not including the obstacles. Sliding across sharps rocks and crossing stream beads. These shoes never failed me. Great mud shoes for someone used to minimalists. I have a wide foot an am very hard to fit for shoes, these had good room in the toe box and never slipped off my heel. Love them!

Huge fan of Adidas adizero from a few years ago. They're basically a shell and a sole -- a real minimalist running shoe. I've had two pairs and now they're gone/changed. I thought this shoe would be quite comparable. It was and it could have been my new go-to but where the toe box meets the rest of the shoe on my left foot, it pinched a little. I'd be willing to take the chance if I didn't need the shoe for distance running but I bought them for an upcoming marathon.

Inov-8 shoes are consistently sized the same and perform equally. I have worn out two of the five pairs that I use for working out and this one is no exception. It fits excellent, is perfectly made for getting into a good position for lifting or metabolic conditioning workouts. There is little to no support and no arch support - these are true zero balance shoes, so do not expect the typical comfort of athletic shoes - these are very minimal. They wear well - I love them!
