Hush Puppies - An American Legend
In 1958, Hush Puppies created the world's first casual shoe, signaling the beginning of today's relaxed style.
By utilizing supple suede in combination with lightweight crepe soles, Hush Puppies created a soft, breathable and very comfortable shoe - an innovation that would ultimately change the kind of shoes we wear. In an era when footwear choices were limited, Hush Puppies shoes provided the world with a new alternative. A modern shoe embraced for its authentic style and casual flair.
Since the beginning, the beloved basset hound has embodied the easygoing nature that is Hush Puppies. Introduced during a time of new freedoms and changing lifestyles, the Hush Puppies brand name and mascot quickly became symbolic of the emerging optimism of mid-century America.
Relaxed and classic in design, Hush Puppies shoes have always defined what it means to be modern and casual. Today, Hush Puppies continues to innovate, bringing technical excellence and genuine style to men, women, and children in over 120 countries.
A revolutionary idea - born fifty years ago - continues to inspire Hush Puppies today.
It is a very comfortable shoes. I ordered double wide since i have a bunion and my doctor recommended to use arch. This shoe has an insole that can be taken off easily and replace it with your insert arch. I highly recommend it.
Received the shoe a few weeks ago and just got around to trying them and seeing how they feel. Great fit (especially for my wide feet), but there is a very loud squeak when I walk from my added orthotics. As I have never seen this in any other shoe, I will work on it to see how to make it stop. Would be 5 star but for the squeak!
Look lovely and feel great. Very happy with the wide width and the support in the soles and arches. Thanks Zappos for carrying ww shoes (and cute ones too) for those of us who can't shove our feet into Ms
Really cute, but way too big on heel and getting a smaller size was not an option. I had to return these; very disappointed.
Love that these shoes are true to size! When I first tried them on I thought they were super comfortable. However, after wearing them for 12 hours straight I found that the top of the shoe felt snug and rubbed my foot (didn't cause blisters but was uncomfortable). After wearing them 3 days in a row, they do seem like they are starting to get more comfortable. I am wearing these with no show socks which have a seam around the top edge of the sock and this may be contributing to the discomfort. Perhaps wearing these shoes with stockings or dress socks might be more comfortable. My other complaint is that the strap has velcro and I've had the velcro come unfastened a few times which is annoying. What I do like about these shoes is that they have a slight heel and are really stable. I have plantar fasciitis and these seem to ease the pain. I also have to walk back and forth across a parking lot numerous times a day and they are really stable! I do think from the side profile they do look a little "old" so to speak however, when they are peaking out from under my dress pants I think they look cute. I like the way the front of the shoe is designed. Overall, I would recommend. Just be expect to have a break in period.
I loved this shoe style and brand but the width was too narrow for my foot. Runs narrow :-(
Very happy with the shoes and they arrived the day after I ordered them.
I needed a comfortable flat to wear sightseeing for an upcoming trip to Europe (No I just can't do sneakers with dresses). These shoes fit the bill admirably - very soft, good rubber sole and a surprising amount of arch support.
I am stunned! I bought this due to its WW-EE width claim. When it arrived, I could barely fit my (truly) EE foot. I believe had it fit this shoe would be comfortable. I also think the style is not half bad for supposedly extra wide shoes. For some reason, designers think that if you have really wide feet, you must be fat, old and ugly. Maybe I am. Maybe not. I still like pretty. Don't get these if you have a truly wide foot. Your foot will hate you.
I wanted red suede tennis shoes and these are all I could find. They are just o.k. Not uncomfortable, but not comfortable. They have no support and are on the heavy side. I tried putting store-bought in-soles but the shoes are not really "deep" enough... I will only wear these occasionally and they are cute so, like I said, they are o.k...
