Hush Puppies - An American Legend
In 1958, Hush Puppies created the world's first casual shoe, signaling the beginning of today's relaxed style.
By utilizing supple suede in combination with lightweight crepe soles, Hush Puppies created a soft, breathable and very comfortable shoe - an innovation that would ultimately change the kind of shoes we wear. In an era when footwear choices were limited, Hush Puppies shoes provided the world with a new alternative. A modern shoe embraced for its authentic style and casual flair.
Since the beginning, the beloved basset hound has embodied the easygoing nature that is Hush Puppies. Introduced during a time of new freedoms and changing lifestyles, the Hush Puppies brand name and mascot quickly became symbolic of the emerging optimism of mid-century America.
Relaxed and classic in design, Hush Puppies shoes have always defined what it means to be modern and casual. Today, Hush Puppies continues to innovate, bringing technical excellence and genuine style to men, women, and children in over 120 countries.
A revolutionary idea - born fifty years ago - continues to inspire Hush Puppies today.
I am very disappointed in Hush Puppy's quality control when it comes to sizing. I have always been able to count on Hush Puppy for consistent true to size shoes. It appears they have changed manufacturers since the Winns. These are not 15EW, I ordered two pair of same shoe different colors, one is still small and not true to size but close enough that I can have them stretched. This one at least a full size (width) off.
Super cute and pretty comfy right out of the box. May need a little wearing in to be really comfy but they look great with all my spring skirts!
These shoes were purchased for a family member with Alzheimers who cannot tie her laces anymore. This is her second pair and the shoes are well made and supportive.
These are a great neutral dress shoe. The toe box is wide enough for all day comfort and the wide heal gives stability. I wouldn't want to walk great distances in them because there is little to no shock absorption, but they're great for office wear.
I wish there was a way to edit reviews. I gave these shoes a rave review when I first received them but after wearing them to work and walking about 1.5-2 mi in them I have to say that I have changed my opinion about certain things: - The toe box while nice and wide is totally stiff (hard as a brick)--it started to cut into my arch after a while and my big toe would press against the inside of the shoe and feel sore while walking. Someone else commented in their review that the way that the toe is sort of flat and curls up at the tip and also had this issue. Maybe we just have big toes, who knows. But I had the same experience after limited walking in the shoes. - The shoe while super light-weight is fairly inflexible. Again, the toe box, but also the heel are very stiff. - I found the EE width to be true to width (I am a 7D bordering on EE and the EE was just wide enough so maybe they do run narrow?) and the adjustable strap with velcro makes it easier to size these, but I found the heel to be too roomy. Nothing that a cheap set of heel guards from CVS couldn't cure. - I wish the styling was a little more sophisticated. I found the punch-out design on the strap to be a little more informal than I would have liked and notice that the stitching became a little frayed after 4 wears maybe from the velcro on the other shoe sticking to the stitching. Who knows, but I wish they were a little more stylish. - I found there to be insufficient arch support. - I wish Hush Puppies made the insoles removable so that you would put in your own store bought inserts or orthodics. Clarks does this sometimes and it would be a really nice option to have. Overall, still a nice shoe but not as comfortable as I initially experienced with first wear. I wore them to work 2 days in a row and after receiving a cut from where it was cutting into my arch I wore sneakers today. TGIF.
These looked so cute but made me sad! They're comfy and true to size but extremely overpriced. Within minutes (literally minutes) of me putting them on, the silver sparkles starting turning a dull dark gray, and gradually they have continued to do so. I haven't gotten them wet or anything and have no idea why the silver dulls so quickly -- the sparkles are completely changing color.
The Chaste Ballet is comfortable, I like the elastic around the opening, which keeps the shoe in place and not flopping around. The leather is very soft and they are very flexible. However, the sole is too narrow in the heel area, and I feel like I'm walking on the edge when I am really walking at a good pace. I have slid off that 'edge' when walking on grass, and that's not fun and why I only give 3 stars for comfort. Overall they are comfortable but more for house wearing and not for a day out site-seeing.
These are so comfortable right out of the box! I plan to but several other colors. There's a nice soft but supportive insole too.
I have wide feet, fat toes, and bunions. These elastic, scrunchy shoes are the only ones I've found that I can wear that aren't clodhoppers. I like the way they look, and now have them in three colors. Also, I had to return one pair, and had lost the packing slip. Phoned and got a delightfully helpful and friendly person on the phone. The new pair arrived the next day, and I sent off the damaged pair with the free label Zappos emailed me. Easy, swift. The phone person even apologized! Yay, Zappos!
Very similar in construction to Lolly Chaste by same company, but with tighter fit, not as comfortable. Exchanged for wider size.
