- Vulcanized natural rubber construction.
- Built on an orthopedic last for that renowned Hunter fit.
- Signature Hunter logo on the front.
- Quick dry woven nylon lining.
- Multi-layer cushioned sponge insole.

- The brand advises that a white wax film may appear on the surface of the rubber boots and that it can be wiped off with a damp cloth. This "blooming" effect is not a defect. Love! I love everything about these boots. The green I bought is a nice medium hunter green that is surprisingly versatile and not boring at all. I originally ordered the tall version of these boots but found the tall shaft kind of stiff and uncomfortable. With the short version I can wear them with almost any pants and just tuck them in instead of having to wear skinny jeans or leggings like with the tall version - I hate having to plan my outfit around a rainy day like that. They run a half size big so order down - I wear an 8.5 and the size 8 fits me perfectly with medium weight socks. I knocked one star off for comfort because they are rubber and so naturally a bit stiff and awkward but that is to be expected I guess.

Perfect for me, at 4'11". The tall Hunter boots look good on taller people, but they came up to my knees and made me look shorter. So these are just right, midcalf length. Love them, wear them every time it rains. They do run a bit big, but that's good so you can wear big socks for winter.

Oh happy day, they fit! I have huge, athletic calves (17 inch) and tiny ankles, so I have never found boots taller than ankle length that fit. (I got the Hunter tall boots for Christmas and they were way too tight on my calves and huge in the ankle.) These boots, however, are fantastic. They are comfortable and very warm. I can't wait to wear cable socks that peak over the top of them. My only complaint is that the top of the boot brushes the very bottom of my calf and is irritating when I'm not wearing socks or thick pants. Yay!

These boots are adorable! I first bought the Original Tall Hunter boots, but they were too tight on my calves (this is the first boot that I've had a problem with -- my calves aren't even very large). So I exchanged for the Original Short and these are perfect!

About Hunter
If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.
Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.
The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they’ve been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.
Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

I was looking for a rain boot that wouldn't be heavy/bulky and this seems to do the trick. Good boot and nice and comfy.

Great boots. They do run very big. I usually wear a 7.5 to 8 and ordered 7 and they are still roomy enough for some wool socks. Not real cushy boots but very functional.

I got these in black after reading all of the reviews. I got them a size smaller and they fit well. My only complaint/warning for people is that they are hard to get over the ankle and fit snug around my ankles. It's not a problem for me, but I have extremely thin legs and ankles (people constantly tell me I have chicken legs), so I worry for people with even regular sized legs and ankles that this could be an issue for you. Just a caution!

Love these boots. Wore them in the rain all around Sweden with a blue coat (flag colors) and not only did they last on my feet for over 7 hours, I got lots of compliments on them. Thick socks work best and fewer hours on your feet would be better. Nice height for a taller woman 5"8" and a sturdy heel for walking. Wide enough for jeans tucked down inside and nice roomy toe box. Can't wait to try them in snow this winter.

I ordered these boots last week because I have been wanting a pair of rain boots. They definitely seem worth the money based on the quality of them. I am normally a size 11.5-12 so I ordered the 11 as it was the largest size and everyone said they run big. They definitely fit me. My only complaint is that they seem very narrow in the ankle area. I have chicken legs and ankles too so they still fit but its definitely snugger than I'm used to with boots. Overall I still like them and I worry that people with normal or large sized ankles may not be able to get these on.

Love these boots! The purple color is awesome, I always get compliments. They are really comfy; just make sure your socks come up high enough if you're not tucking your pants into the boots. They can rub a bit. I am a pretty solid 8, and while the 8s were a touch big - I threw on some thicker socks for the cool Chicago fall temps and they're perfect. I would not size down. Extremely happy with my purchase, and of course Zappos fabulous service! Why shop anywhere else?

I have wanted these boots for a very long time, however the price was more than I wanted to spend. Finally after buying pair after pair of cheap wellies, I finlly got these. They are so comfortable and flexible and the rubber is soft. Plus, they have more tread than most wellies which is great because I spend a lot of time working outside. I wish I had purchased these sooner! I also got the wellie sock which is comfy and looks great in these boots. Zappos shipped these amazingly fast! Just in time for the sleet we are suppose to get today!

Beautiful color (aubergine), solid construction, comfortable rain boot. I recommend purchasing the booties to go with them so the back doesn't rub on your calf.

Love these boots. I wear a size 8 or 8.5 and ordered a size 7, but by mistake they sent me a size 6. I was too lazy to return them. They fit well but will be tight with big socks so 7 would've been better...but great boots overall. I got the purple ones...love the color.

I got the Hunter Original Short boot in aubergine for walking around my college campus. I love my Hunters! Super comfortable and from the reviews I know they will last for ages! I ordered a size 5. I usually wear a size 6 or 6.5 and the size 5 fits perfectly. Buy these boots!

Zappos has always been the best shopping site for me and I thought they were the great but once I received my Hunter boots the next day I was more than excited; Zappos has outdone themselves, they are great! Now to the boots... They are so beautiful, the color is perfect for fall and winter. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for a rain boot that will last a long time and are fabulous. And they will never go out of style because they are a trusted name. I usually wear size 6 in shoes but I had to go a size smaller because they do run larger.

I'm very happy that I made this purchase. I was debating between this and the Original, but decided to try these out first. As luck would have it, the week it came in was an extremely stormy one and I got to try them out immediately. They are absolutely perfect. Very comfortable, looked awesome with my tucked in skinny jeans, and they kept my feet nice and dry. As everyone suggested, I did go down a size. I normally wear 9 1/2 or 10, but went with the 9 and they fit perfectly. I also purchased the Hunter socks to avoid any kind of irritation where the rubber rim meets my calves. I chose the chocolate brown and it's a lovely color. I'm going to get the Original Tall in green next. I'm a new Hunter fan, most definitely.
