I love these boots! I wear a size 10, and ordered 41. If you are going to order the wellies and wear thick socks go up in size, otherwise I felt everything was true to size. Also, if you are ordering wellies and want them as a sock and not as a insole get med, but I wanted a liner and they work great. It allows me to wear a sock with the wellies.

After having and trying on several pairs of uncomfortable rain boots, I decided to give Hunter a try. I read a lot of reviews and determined that since I wanted to be able to tuck my pants into the boots, the Huntress would be the best fit for me and my non-stickly calf. I was still skeptical because of the price, but I figured with Zappos free shipping and free returns I had nothing to lose. I ordered them thinking if they didn't absolutely wow me I'd send them back. Well they did wow me! They fit with pants tucked in and were comfortable as well! I have already worn them to work, tucking my dress pants safely inside and then pulling them over the boot for the rest of the day (didn't even end up changing out of them). I thought they looked cute, were extremely functional, and since they are excellent quality I knew I could enjoy them for years. For anyone who has to venture out, rain or shine (from commuters to dog owners!), I think they are a great investment!

I absoltuley love these boots. I tried the Hunter Original and they were so tight around my calves, even without trying to tuck my pants in! I thought that I would try the Huntress and they are so comfortable around I can easily tuck my pants in. I am usually a 8-8½ so I tried both the size 7 and size 8. I went with the 8 since I will wear socks and they are rain boots so they are supposed to be comfortable!

Great boots! I have the Hunter Original also, which has a more narrow calf. The Original is great for wearing with skirts or dresses, over tights. However, the original does not fit over my jeans. The Huntress has a wider shaft and is great over jeans, so comfy & warm. I wear them all the time and I love the black. As always, Zappos customer service was stellar!

Thank God I found a boot that fits over my calves and my jeans! Others I tried were regular calf size with a little extra on top, which caused them to pucker or suction when I put them on. These are wide all the way up. The only problem with them is that they run a little big. All of the reviews said true to size so I got my regular size. Maybe thick socks will do the trick. Also, since they are wide all the way up and a tiny bit too big, they start to slide off when I'm going down steps. I'm going to try some thick socks to try to rectify this situation before I fall down a flight of stairs. Overall, I love these boots.

All about Hunter

If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.

Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.

The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they’ve been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.

Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

These are a perfect height. The original Wellies were too tall for me; these fit and are easy to get on and off. Great, I wear them to the muddy dog park daily. I did take a full size smaller and they are perfect, so grading is for the size I got.

Just what I was looking for! The wider width fit my big calves perfectly with a bit of room to spare. I usually wear a size 7-7.5. I ordered a 7 and they work just fine, leaving room for an insole and wool socks for the rainy winter ahead. Totally worth the investment, I'll never have to worry about wet feet again!

I love these boots! I am a true size 10 and I ordered the navy Huntress in a size 9. They fit with jeans on, although I haven't tried with a sock, but it feels like it could fit with some on. The color looks great and I am so happy! My calf could barely fit in the Hunter original.

Just in time for the rainy season - After reading the reviews, I decided to go with a slightly smaller boot size. Normally I wear 8-8 1/2 (but more on the 8 1/2 size) and I ended up getting huntress in size 39 (8). They fit prefectly with enough room tuck in my pants and wear with thicker socks. (my calves are 15 1/3). love e'm! and of course zappos customer svc was awesome and got the boots out overnight.

I just ordered these boots in green, women\'s size 6. I am 5\'3", 118 lbs with athletic calves and the Hunter Originals were way too tall for me, and too tight. These fit perfectly, just high enough that they look tall but don\'t squeeze the back of my knee when I sit, just wide enough for me to tuck my jeans in and wear thick winter socks if need be. I originally ordered the women\'s size 5 since I am normally a 6 and I read to order a full size down: they were way too tight in the foot and I could barely wear a normal sock so I had to send them back. Also, I read that they say "Huntress" on the front, but mine actually say "Hunter" just like the originals so I\'m happy about that. I am looking forward to enjoying these boots for years to come! I just wish they came in more fun colors. Also, Zappos is awesome! They sent the bigger size overnight totally for free, after I discovered the 5 was too small, so that I could compare both sizes and send back which ever pair I didn\'t want!

I original bought the regular Hunter rain boots, but they were too tight around the feet and my calves (I'm a runner, biker, etc., so I have muscular calves), so I returned them. The Huntress Model fits much better. I can now comfortably wear them over jeans. I'm normally a size 8 - 8-1/2, but I ordered a size 7 since I read they are running a size big. My toes are pretty close to the front of the boot, but otherwise they fit fine. If you're in between sizes and also planning on wearing socks thicker than standard tennis socks, I'd recommend just going a half size down to the nearest full size. I'm probably going to keep those, since it doesn't really get too cold here and I'm fine wearing thinner tennis socks with them. I only wish they would make them in some more brighter colors!

Bought these boots a while back and they are awesome! I'm short with wide calves and I really have a hard time finding anything that would fit me, so when I found these, and slid them on, I was ecstatic. I got the green huntress and they fit perfectly with jeans tucked in and all. They do run a bit big so get a size down. In addition, since this does have a wider shaft, the ankle area gets a bit roomy.

Sturdy, well-fitting boots! Note that they do run small, so be sure to order one size up. If you have extra wide feet, you may want to order two sizes up.

FINALLY! I have struggled for years having a larger calf size and have finally found a boot that fits! I can not believe how wonderful they are! I placed my order at 8:30pm and had the boots by 11:30am the next day! Zappos you are awesome! Thank you so much!

Great boot, road tested! I bought this boot in early June and decided to road-test it first before I posted a review. I have nothing but wonderful reviews on this rain boot. I did read that the normal Hunters were narrow in the calf area, which would pose a problem if you want to tuck in pants that are not cigarette pants. I like to wear boot-cut jeans, so the extra space in the shaft was extra useful. Also, being only 5'2", the shaft height was just enough so it does not jut out too high and bite into the area behind your knee when you're walking or crouching down. I did notice that they tend to fall off the leg, but with good wellie socks they stay on okay (LL Bean sells nice socks; the ones by Hunter are way too long for this boot). Also, these boots are wide by default. I wear a wide width and initially thought these boots would be a tight fit, but they are wonderfully roomy.

So, I have big calves (16.5) and regular rain boots fit nice until it gets to my calves. I decided to try the Huntress collection from Hunter. I received them today and they did fit around my calves (and with Jeans it was tight), but since they are a much wider boot than the original, they were huge below my calves. It looked really weird. From my ankle to the bottom of my calf my leg is normal, so all that extra space from the boot looked weird. I usually wear a size 8 so I ordered the 39 (8 in US Ladies); it was too big as far as feet size goes. I'm exchanging them for the Original Short, I have read the reviews and hope that since it is shorter it will fit great. I will leave a review for the Original Short as soon as I get them. Hope this helps, to anyone who is in the same position as me.

I bought these for my daughter who will be attending college in Illinois. It will be cold there and probably wet. So we purchased the liners to wear with wool socks to keep her feet warm. We bought these Wellies because the shaft is wider and we both have larger calves. It usually is hard for us to find boots to fit. These boots have plenty of room to tuck in jeans even with the liners. They are so cute and will serve her well!

Absolutely love the boots. I'm only 5'2" and the boots are a little shorter so they sit under my knees. They are wide enough to put jeans in them. I usually wear a 4.5 or 5 shoe, and these fit pretty well with a thick pair of socks.

Well, I bought them to keep the water away from my feet, and they certainly do that. The calves are wider than other Hunter boots I\'ve tried, so they fit well. The boots do slide up and down a bit when I walk, which is a little annoying. I wear knee socks with them so they don\'t rub my legs or heels.

These Hunter boots are amazing. I originally ordered the Hunter Original rain boot, but found that the calf circumference was way too tight. Zappos\'s wonderful customer service exchanged these boots for the Huntress boots with no problems and shipped them out to me next day no charge. The Huntress fits me perfectly (I have a 15 1/2 inch calf) with just enough room to tuck in my pants. They look great if a little baggy at the ankle. I was worried they would hit me too low on the shins (I am 5\'7), but they look fine. Really happy with my purchase and they will come in handy during Michigan winters! Thanks Zappos!
