This boot is all wrong! My ankles were swimming in them and I don't have small ankles. The foot length was right, the foot width was huge, the ankles were huge, and the top of the calf was slightly tight. I don't have wide feet and usually expect to have a little extra space, but this was insane. I'm sad because the pink is super cute and I really wanted these boots to work.

Agree with other reviews that the ankles on this boot are way too big and make the fit very odd. I ended up just going with the Hunter Original Short Boot, since none of their tall boots fit over my calves.

I just got these boots in the mail and tried them on. I was hoping the other reviews were wrong but I agree with others, these boots are cut weird. The top was tight on my calves and too loose in the ankles. I have a pair of the short Hunter boots and they fit perfectly. I also feel like the support in these is lacking compared to the short Hunter boots I have. I really wanted a pink pair as in the winter I practically live in the other Hunter's and they don't make the short in pink.

I bought these to replace the Hunter Original, which were too tight in the calves. These fit great: I can wear the liners and tuck in my pants. Perfect for tromping through the Midwest snow. The ankles on the boots are a bit baggy, but whatever - I'd rather have extra room than not enough. I wear a 7 1/2 shoe and I bought size 7 boots. They fit fine, even with socks and liners.

I really wanted a pair of Hunters but they just don't look right around my calves. I would have kept them if they fit around my calf with some extra room. Great color, and quality. I would order a full size down.

Love my new boots. Great color and very sturdy. I bought a size smaller than I usually do after I read other reviews. The Huntress is great because of the extra width in the calf.

Great boots. I immediately filled the tub up with water and splashed around and yep, they're waterproof. Glad I went a full size down, because they still feel big around my feet, but since there is next-to-no insulation, that means wearing double socks in the cold will be easy to do. They're pretty wide around the calf for me, but the height is just right (I'm 5'2"). I wish there were a tighter boot that was this height, but I'll take what I can get.

I love that the shaft of this boot is wide enough to accommodate my wider calves. I would have liked to have tried on the next size down and made a choice between them. As it is, these are rain and mud boots, and I got to work wearing them right away.

I ordered the original hunter tall but it was too tight, so I got these. they are perfect and awesomely comfortable. around the foot is a little loose (I ordered a size 10, which I usually wear) but still nice.

Love these boots! These are great! The color is fuchsia, but it's really just a hot pink. The fit is perfect, I ordered my normal size. I was worried about the calf width, because I normally need a wide calf boot, but these fit perfect, with a little room to spare to wear my pants tucked in. Definitely recommend.

Finally! Hunter boots that fit! I've tried two sizes of the original talls and found the calf unbearably tight. My calves aren't even that big! Of course, Zappos made the return and exchange a breeze. The Huntress is perfect! They do run big--I'm an 8.5-9 and the 9 is roomy, but I have the Hunter welly socks to go with them. The 8 would most likely fit, too. I love the Huntress!

I ordered these for my daughter's birthday and was not sure of the size - after a few returns for different sizes (thank you Zappos for making that part so easy), she has the perfect size and she loves the red high gloss! I will order from Zappos again and again!

I had high hopes for these rainboots. I love the Pillarbox Red color, which is a nice, bright scarlet. I'm short so the original Hunters are too tall for me, and the shaft width, while not uncomfortable, wouldn't allow for tucking my pants inside. I thought the wide-calf Huntress boots would be the solution. The shaft height is better; however, I still didn't have much room to tuck in my pant legs, especially for thicker fabrics like denim. My biggest issue though is the ankles. They are indeed very large and very loose. There difference in ankle support and stability between original Hunters and the Huntress style is like night and day. Even if I had the room to tuck my pants inside, I would still have returned these for the ankle fit/stability issue.

Great boots! Glad I went with the Huntress because I don't think the slimmer calves on the Classic would have allowed for skinny jeans. Love the red color and super comfortable. Ordered my regular size and they fit well with socks.

I ordered the huntress style because I was afraid the original hunter boots would not fit my muscular calves. In the size 10 the shaft was barely 14" high, and the top opening of the boot is about 17½" in circumference, that allows me to tuck in jeans if needed. I am pretty tall (5'10") and these boots are much shorter than the originals as well. So they fit around my leg, but are short. Also the ankles are a bit baggy. The foot size is a bit big but that is mostly in width, I think with my wool socks they will be perfect, so I do not think that they run large. Overall the color is great, and I know they will be more comfortable to stand on concrete winery floors all day than my cheap TSC wellies!

First of all, the apple red is a beautiful color I love it. I was so upset when other hunters wouldn't fit my muscular calves, thanks to years of soccer, but the Huntress fit great and was still a bit more room! But just so everyone knows, even on the tag it says fit for shapely and short legs! I'm 5'0 so the height is perfect for me, but if you're tall and have shapely legs, these boots might be too short. Overall it's been waterproof and have not experienced a leak like few have said, just make sure to take are of them. Hopefully these will last years.
