These are the boots I have always wanted! I own a pair of traditional Hunter wellies, which live with my in-laws in the UK, and have been wanting a pair to have at home in Michigan. I was always a little put off by how difficult the boots were to wear over my usual jeans, so finding the Huntress with the woman-shaped calf was a dream come true! An added bonus is that these boots have a nice spring in the sole, they are very comfortable to wear for extended use when need be. I am thrilled; they are just like my first pair but (sorry old boots) even better! I typically wear a 9.5 but found the 10 was more room than I needed; the 9 is perfect for me.

These are beautiful, well constructed rain boots, but they were much too tall and too wide in the calves for me. I am a 5' tall adult woman and I usually wear a 6, sometimes a 5½. These boots run a full size bigger than indicated, so I ordered the size 5. Wearing sport socks, the foot area was comfortable, not too snug and with room to wiggle my toes. However, the calf area was much too big, even with jeans tucked in. My bare calves measure 14½ at their widest. When I walked around, the shaft of the boots would literally "slap, slap, slap" my shin and calves! I think that if I used these with the cold weather welly socks, these boots would be OK, but I live in California and while it rains, it does not get that cold. Sport socks suffice for me. Another fit issue is the height of the shaft. I am 5' even, so the boot's shaft poked the back of my knees very uncomfortably when I went up the stairs. As a result, I had to return these. I ordered the size 3 kid's version (woman's 5 equivalent) and those fit perfectly! The kid's version has reflective tape on the back but that is OK with me since I figure that it keeps me safer when I am walking the dogs.

I know I'm supposed to be writing a review about my Hunter Boots, but first just let me tell you how in love I am with Zappos! They are the best place to buy anything online! The customer service is betting than any customer service I have ever encountered including face to face in stores. My boots shipped perfectly and fit well! I've been looking for boots with a wider calf so I can stuff my pants over thick socks, and these worked out great! Mine were a tad big in the foot but once I put thick socks and Dr. Scholls in, they were perfect!

Love these boots! I received the green color as a gift, and they make me look forward to rainy days. They look cute with skinny jeans and skirts, and I have no problem with the fit. They have plenty of room around the calves (I have fairly athletic legs). I was afraid they wouldn't be as stylish as the normal hunters, but they totally are, and I've gotten tons of compliments.

I absolutely love my Hunter Huntress boots. It is usually hard to find boots with enough room to tuck my jeans in, but these are perfect. They are plenty wide enough for my very wide foot. These boots are well made and very comfortable. I was able to walk long distances and stand for hours in them right out of the box. Zappos was, as usual, a pleasure to work with. There is not a better company online.

About Hunter
If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.
Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.
The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they’ve been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.
Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas. She put them right on and would not take them off. She was so excited. She had tried to buy these before, but her calf was too wide. She is short and thin, and these looked great on her.

I got these in black - they were true to size. After 8 months or so the buckle rusted and a side wore through to a hole, Zappos credited me the cost! Fantastic. The boots could use a gel insert because they hurt after standing 10 hours a day on concrete, but otherwise I prefer them over the Hunter originals. Also, don't order up in size! I made that mistake trying to replace these with the pink ones and they were huge.

Bought these boots as a gift for my girlfriend. Had originally bought the regular Hunter boots, but the shaft was too narrow for her. Bought the Huntress boots and they fit great. Returning the old boots was easy and didn't cost me a thing. I definitely recommend the non glossy black boots. They hold up much better. That advice was passed to me by other Hunter owners and it's definitely true. Very happy with purchase experience.

Love, love, love these boots! They will be your beat friends during the rain sleet and snow. I bought the huntress for the extra calf space. I wanted to be able to tuck in my jeans and still have room for the warm wellie knit socks. I recommend you not only by the hunter boots but it's warm cool and stylish knit socks. You wont regret it!

I am a tall woman (5'9) with big feet (size 11-12) and big calves. I read the reviews and noted how many said this boot runs big. I took a chance and ordered a size 10, and it fits perfectly! I can wear these with thick socks and with skinny jeans tucked inside. The top of the boot comes up high enough so you don't get that chopped off stubby look (which makes your legs look larger). Great boot!

I originally bought the Original Tall Hunter boot for women and, due to my "athletic" calves, could not fit my calves comfortably in the boot. I was heartbroken, until I came across these! No more sausage calves & the boots are stylish and comfortable.

I really love these boots. I've been looking for a pair of Hunter boots for years, but the Original did not give me enough room in the calf. The Huntress gives me enough room to tuck jeans into them. They are perfect for rain/snow and I know I'll wear them frequently this winter. They are wide through the ankle and foot, but it you wear a thick sock you don't really notice.

These are excellent! I got the Huntress after reading the reviews that indicated that the Hunters were narrow in the calf for a woman of 5'11. I am glad I did!Rain, Rain, go away. Also good for the upcoming snow! The boots are made for the socks that you buy with them for a good fit.

I love these boots. I'm 5'4 with wider calves and I love the height and width of these boots. They are perfect. I can comfortably fit jeans in them with thick socks. They run about a half size larger. Normally I wear a 7 1/2 but the 7 fits me perfectly.

It is nice that Hunter has a version of this boot with the wider calf; however, I don't like that it is several inches shorter than the original. I have tried both on, and I am keeping this one only because I can wear it with more pants; the original I can only wear with super skinny jeans or leggings (i.e. this wider calf is more practical). But the other one is taller, and has that 'look' that people want in a way that this one does not quite have. So it wins for practicality, which is what I need right now, but I am bummed it isn't as fashionable. If it were the same height as the original, even with the wider calf, I still think the more fashionable look could be pulled off!

I read a lot of the reviews. I ordered 2 sizes, 1 an 8 and 1 a 9. 8-8.5 is my normal size. I kept the 8. My calves are larger and have a hard time with any boots, even though I'm a size 8. The 8's fit great, with the Wellie sock and pants tucked in they were a bit tight but fit fine. I can't wait to use them walking from the train to work in the rain and snow.

These are great! They look surprisingly good for rubber boots, and they work well with some skirts and dresses, and with tights or jeans. My wide calves make these the best option. I don't think I could have fit in the regular. In spite of being generously spacious, they're not too bulky looking.

These went over my legs and jeans fine. Reasonably comfy for a rainboot. I ordered an American size 9, which seemed true to size, but if you are close to 9.5, this boot will be too short. The width is generous.

I love these, I'm 5'1, and they are the perfect height, almost to my knee. They def wouldn't fit me with jeans tucked in though although they fit nicely with tights. Usually wear a 6.5 and ordered a 6, and they fit perfectly.
