Very happy with my black Hunter boots and the service in general and the efficient and quick shipping. I had ordered these boots from a store on Park Ave in NYC where I had tried the boots on for size and fit. And after putting down a deposit and waiting over a month, was told they were on back-order and so I canceled and ordered from Zappos. My only apprehension about ordering online was not being able to try the boots on, but that wasn't an issue for me.

I love my Aubergine Hunter Rain Boots! Can a rain boot be sexy? If so, this is the sexiest one out there. They look cute with everything. I wear a 7 1/2-8 and I got a size 8; they fit perfectly. I also recommend the fleece welly socks; they look great and make the boot much warmer on cold days. You won't regret this purchase!

These boots are awesome if you enjoy sloshing through puddles and muck. However, if you have average sized calves, they may cut off your circulation because apparently Hunter does not cater to the average female's calves that are not fat, just normal.

I bought my first Hunters several years ago, a pair of the bottle green color. I'm a women's 10.5, so the Hunter 10 fit perfectly. I took the plunge and ordered the aubergine in a 10, but Hunter's sizing must have changed in the last few years. The calf was tighter, and the footbed length was much shorter. They were less roomy all around. I'd like to try an 11, but Zappos doesn't stock the women's colors in that size.

These are the cutest boots! I bought fleece liners in red, blue and green, which completes the look. I would recommend the boots and the liners wholeheartedly.

All about Hunter

If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.

Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.

The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they’ve been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.

Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

I have been reading the reviews about the size and decided to go to the store and try the boots on before ordering just to make sure I order the right size. I usually wear size 9.5 or 10 and size 9 in these boots, my toes were touching the end with very thin socks. I decided to go with size 10 which ended up working out perfectly as long as I wear my Smartwool socks. When I received the boots in Chocolate, the color is very neutral and really goes with everything including black leggings, jeans, etc. They are, however, not a fashion statement for me so I have no intention to wear them with skirts, etc. It took me a while to get used to the boots as they are large in the ankle and calf area on me even after I tuck my pants in. It took me a while to get used to walking in them and now I love them. I am 5'10" and they fall a couple of inches below my knee and it's perfect. I think they look nice (especially if you're tall) and very practical for Seattle's rainy days.

I just got the black hunter original boot. Just love them! They also came extremely fast! I will be wearing them more than just on rainy days. With a heavy sock, they are great for cold days, especially walking the dog on mountain trails. May just have to order brown, too.

So glad that I finally got these boots! Love them! Got the merlot color which is a great alternative to black, but still neutral. I did order a size down...normally a 6.5 or 7 and ordered the 6 and they fit well with the Hunter Welly Socks. I have a wide foot and these work for me. The Socks are too cute and a must have companion purchase! Recommended!

I ordinarily wear a size 8 shoe. The size 8 in this boot was large on me. I now own a fabulous looking boot in size 7, which I can comfortably wear with the fleece Hunter wellie socks.

I freaking love these boots, though I have to admit, when I first pulled them out of the box I thought, "Boy am I ever going to look like a goober in these." You know, like a perpetual fisherman (or fisherwoman). My husband made fun of me when he got home and saw me in them, too. I got them in the chocolate color, so instead of looking like fun wellies, they can easily be mistaken for nerdy-looking irrigation boots. \r\n\r\nBut no one was laughing when we took our dog for a walk and I could walk right through snow drifts and puddles of mud - I even went and stood in the river for a few minutes to really put them to the test - and they held up - not a single leak. And snow just slides right off them. They are bionic, I\'m telling you. I also wore them for a day of shopping. My husband was convinced my feet were going to be sore and blistered by the end of the day, but I didn\'t have a single complaint - though they aren\'t really padded or cushioned at all, they are very comfortable.\r\n\r\nAnd them being nerdy looking is arguable. I do see the dorky side of them, but I also think they\'re pretty sexy cause they\'re tall and slim. And from the first day I started wearing them I got tons of compliments, so they can\'t be too bad. Put the look and the utility together and you have a sweet, satisfying pair of boots.\r\n\r\nThey do run big, but in my boot-buying experiences I\'ve learned that boots in general are made a bit bigger so that you can wear boot socks with them. And since these don\'t have much insulation, you\'re going to want to wear thick, warm socks with them if you live in a cold area. If I\'d bought them to wear as summer fishing boots, I\'d probably go down a whole size.\r\n\r\nThey are thin in the calves, but I\'ve got pretty average-sized calves I think, and I can still tuck my jeans into them comfortably (and I love it. I hate having wet-bottomed jeans). \r\n\r\nAnd finally, a little shout-out to Zappos. I bought these on a Wednesday evening with standard shipping. On Thursday, I had an email saying they were going to expedite them and that they would ship sometime that day. Friday morning, I had my shipping tracking number - I went straight to UPS.com and saw that they were already out for delivery! I know that Zappos frequently, if not always, does that for its customers, but here\'s the amazing part. Are you ready? I live in Wyoming and we were in the middle of a nasty snow storm. All the roads leading into and out of town were closed. Whenever there\'s a storm like that, all these semi-trucks get stranded and they\'re everywhere you look. Out of my window I could see a Fed-Ex truck that didn\'t move until Friday afternoon. So how did UPS get my boots here so quick? I don\'t know. It\'s magic. My Hunter boots + Zappos\' AWESOME customer service + UPS....brings a tear to my eye.

Fantastic Boots! I normally don't write reviews, but since I found one entry for these boots so helpful, I figured I would join in with the feedback. I live in Manhattan and often ruin shoes and the bottom of my pants by walking around the streets in the rain. I finally bit the bullet and purchased what every reviewer has said are the 'best wellies.' I agree. I purchased the aubergine (eggplant) color and, although they are darker than expected, they are a very good neutral. I'm often a 6.5, sometimes 7, and the 6 fit perfectly with room for thicker socks in the winter. My calves are on the larger side, but thankfully, I can still tuck in skinny jeans. All in all - I wish they were less pricey, but great purchase!

These are great, well made boots. I am from the UK and had a pair there which lasted 15 years! They are comfortable, well made, true to size (they allow for thick socks) so buy your regular size and are of course the stylish de rigueur for wet dog walks. Zappos have a great price and were, as usual, delivering to the door practically as you click \'buy\'.Fantastic service.

I was visiting my Dad in Iowa. The only place to get rain boots would have been WALMART !!! Yuck!! I ordered them from Zappos and they came the next day and I was warm and dry for my high school reunion weekend. Zappos Rocks!

Love these boots. If you are short, they will probably be too tall for you (I'm 5'11 and they fit me just fine). The calf area is kind of small, but works just fine with skinny jeans! I love these boots!

Fantastic boots for rain. They look cute too! With the liners these are much warmer, though not warm enough to be snow boots.

I am so happy I finally got these. They are very versatile and have worn them a lot this fall for various activities: football games, boy scout campout, etc. With the liners they were warm enough. I was worried they would make my feet sweaty, but hasn't been a problem. I did order the merlot at first and returned them; they look a lot less red than the online picture, mostly they are brown. Got the black in their place and love them!

Super fast shipping was much appreciated! These have been perfect for taking my dog on long walks on a dirt trail. Very comfortable! I got the chocolate color; however, sometimes it looks like a dark gray with all the self protective wax. I don't mind it, but it's something to keep in mind.

These boots are great! Not only fashionable, but functional! Boot fits true to size. They say it runs big, but my experience is that they do not, and are true to size. A must for your wardrobe!

I noticed a lot of people wearing these boots in the county that I live in and called my 22 year old daughter in Boston and asked her if she wanted a pair. I ordered them in the color she requested; they came within a matter of days and she loves them. She likes them so much I decided to order the Hunter socks from Zappos.com made especially for the boots for the cold, snowy winters in Boston.

I'm was exhibiting my artwork on a rainy day when this woman walked by with her Hunter boots. I knew I had to have them, she looked so casual chic on that miserable day because of her boots. I love them. They fit perfectly to size and my heel never slips out; they hug my calves just enough so my skinny jeans can fit. A great investment I will enjoy for years, unlike those crazy-patterned, ill-fitting rubber boots.
